I have created a custom coordinate system (cs) with the online tool. My cs is in the correct folder (c:\\user\\xxx\\Documents\\FME\\CoordinateSystems), I can see it in the menu Tools-Browse Coordinate system... , I can transform some points but when

I export a shape file, the prj file includes only this: PROJCS [ "MAGNA-SIRGAS / Origen-National" which is the name of my cs. What I have to do to have a correct prj file?

Dynamic SQLExecutor

Hi, I want to create a dynamic workspace. I have an excel file and I want to execute everything from there. I want to send database information for sqlexecutor via excel. but I couldn't find how to add format and dataset information. Is such a thing possible?

Is there software that can use longitude/latitude coordinates, where upon entering them into a smartphone, you can identify a point on a plot of land, on for instance, Google maps?

I work for a deck building company that consistently needs to find lot boundary markers, but due to lack of information sometimes we are unable to identify where the boundaries of a lot are. We are exploring and trying to find ways that we could easily find the part of the lot that is the physical boundary marker of the property. Assuming we are able to find longitude/latitude coordinates, we are looking for software that could allow us to enter that information in a smartphone in order to be guided to that point on a map on smartphone. Thanks for any input you may give!

Hi, I haven't used FME in quite a while due to the flu outbreak. I have FME 2017.1 and have found that it will no longer reach in to my SDE due to the Legacy deprecation from ESRI. Are there any transformers I can use in 2017 that I can use?

I would like to know if FME has a reader and writer that directly read and write data back to the ArcSDE database.

Writing/Updating Metadata from SDE to Shapefile

I was following this example to write/update the metadata from SDE.https://community.safe.com/s/article/working-with-geodatabase-metadata-writing-to-xml READER features: from SDEREADER metadata: from SDE WRITER: GENERIC (4 options: SHP, FGDB, DWG, KML) I was able to write both spatial features and their metadata to FGDB (using ArcGIS Catalog to view both features and metadata).But when I picked the output as Shapefile, the features were written out with a boundary (for lines, but not for points). E.g. I have a point file with 722 features it will be written as 722 features. If I write a line file with 1000 features then I will end up having 1001 because there is a boundary linework written as one of the spatial features.Also, the metadata wasn't included in the shapefiles (using ArcGIS Catalog to view). I try to narrow down the output by having a Shapefile writer only but the same problem persists. Anyone can shed me some light on this issue? Thanks.

Combine multiple sql tables into 1 table with different schema

I have to combine 30 sql tables into 1 while preserving globalID unique identifiers. These tables have slight differences in column names (i.e. GlobalID vs globalid or JobsiteGlobalID vs JobGUID). These need to be mapped during the insert. I want to be able to run this multiple times so I'm looking for an "if not exists" append transformer. Any recommendations? I've looked as FeatureMerger, but it doesn't seem to work with 30 readers. I've tried a simple append, but re-running causes issues.Thanks.

Arcpy cannot find featureClass in SDE database on FME Server that it can find using the same workbench on desktop

I PyhtonCaller that renames some feature classes/tables once they have been loaded to SDE database and checked using arcpyWhen I run the workbench on FME desktop I have not troubles, but when I publish the workbench to server the feature classes/tables can not be found. The Error is ArcGIS Pro: 000732: : Dataset does not exist or is not supported. Hi,I am trying to complete this trail where it is requested to connect to a FME Server in order to upload the workspace. To try that I started a VM on stringo. But I dont know which FME Server Parameters I have to enter now to connect. I've just finished the Academy Exercise: Improving Workspace Style. In the tutorial, the supplied workbench included a Creator transformer that fed into a FeatureReader which references a geopackage Why is Creator used in this context? Why is this pattern used instead of using a GeoPackage Reader? I've read the doc page on Creator and searched for blogs but I haven't yet found anything that explains why Creators are used generally, or in a scenario like above specifically. Is there a link to some good explanatory documentation or training? Thanks

I would like to aggregate lines based on an attribute but with some spatial condition.

Hello, I have the following dataset (See picture "Before"):- one layer of lines. Each of the 10 lines belongs to a group (a,b, c etc.) which is saved as an attribute. the first and last vertex of a line is highlighted in black.- one layer of points. Displayed in blue on picture.I would like to aggregate all lines that belong to the same group to one line except if there are intersected by a blue point. So all lines of the same group shall be merged into one till they are intersected by the point layer. My final result shall look like "After" attachment which means 7 lines in total. questions relates to Mapnikrasterizer transformer ,i would like to have the output from this transformer without any scaling as original .input is polygon with lines over it .

i am using Mapnikrasterizer transformer ,i have input polygon and some lines over it . i would like to keep the output of this transformer without any scaling (without any compressing )as original input .which parameters should i choose at this transformer to do this work ?as info :i am wiriting the output in excel file .but i found it looks not great when i use scaling ,it seems to me that it compress the input and looks not good in excel file . so i would like to have another solution Thanks for help FME 2018

FeatureReader won't read .rvt file

I've had a workflow that did what it was supposed to with several Revit files, now when trying to work with a new batch of files I am getting the following error: DataRecorder (RecorderFactory): The clause 'PATH_TO_AN_FFS_FILE.ffs' within 'FACTORY_DEF * RecorderFactory FACTORY_NAME DataRecorder FEATURE_FILE PATH_TO_AN_FFS_FILE.ffs MODE RECORD' is incorrect. CurveFitter - Unable to access

Hi everyone! I was trying to use the CurveFitter packaged transformer in FME 2019, but I received a weird message, telling me that I'm not authorized to use/download it (because of some licensing problem). Here is the message : Note that everything is OK with FME 2021 (it seems that this package was converted into a "real transformer"). I'm also able to open a workspace that includes this transformer with a 2019 version (this FMW : https://community.safe.com/s/article/using-and-understanding-the-curvefitter-transforme). However, I'm not able to access to it via the quick add or the transformer gallery.. So it's not really efficient. PS: I'm using a FME database edition + I've already done an update of the transformer gallery.

Workspace with 1400+ transformers

I recently inherited a workspace (sorry for all my other questions related and thanks for your time and patience 🙂)The problem with the workspace is that it has over 1400 transformers, at least according to this command of my provenience which might be incorrect:cat my_workspace.fmw | grep \<TRANSFORMER |wc -lI can hardly orientate myself in all the logic, since the canvas won't fit to my screen even at the lowest zoom. I only managed to oversight it printing to A0 pdf:Anyway, I don't know if this is common in real life FME projects. Are there any best practices regarding the complexity and extent of the workspace? Are there any possible performance drawbacks with bigger workspaces?My intuition would be to divide it and execute the resulting flows separately with WorkspaceRunner, but I cannot find a clear recommendation on it in the docs.

When paused on breakpoint inside an embedded transformer, how to see from where it's being called?

I inherited a flow with an embedded transformer.This transformer is being reused multiple times in the workspace. If I put a breakpoint in it, I don't know how to find the place it is being called from the main flow.
