Hi, I have a contour dataset which has been clipped incorrectly and has produced errors in the resulting polylines. There are numerous breaks in it, for example, the 0.8m contour line (see attached image) and I would like to join these together. A straight line is fine. I have tried Snapper and LineCombiner with no success. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks.
I have workspace that currently has one choice dropdown input parameter that lists regional utility companies. The parameter dictates where the input data is read from and where the output data is written. On FME Server, I have setup separate Users for each region. The client has requested that I limit access of each regional User to it's own region. So, say we have Region1 and Region2. Region1 shouldn't be able to run the workspace by selecting Region2, and vice versa. My thought is, if the FME Server User accessing the workspace is available at run time, I could essentially do away with the drop down, and let that dictate which data is processed. Is this possible? If not, what would be my best course of action to accomplish that separation. My second thought was create separate repositories for each region, but then I would need to make copies of the workspace only allowing a single choice in the dropdown. This doesn't seem very efficient, and would pose an issue when upd
Hi all,Just a quick question:What I try to do today is to write a hyperlink from my workspace to a word document. I am compiling a Word document with a bunch of MSWordStylers and one of the paragraphs contains a hyperlink... I have been looking around, and it looks like it is currently not possible to insert a hyperlink to a word document using the MSWordStyler. Is that still true, or did I miss something? And: would there be an alternative route to accomplish this? Any insights will be highly appreciated. Cheers, Egge-Jan
Hell everyone, I apoligize if this has been answered already but I haven't had any luck trying to find a solution. Basically I have a URL in HTTPCaller that I need to append a value at the end of so that I can run multiple GETs. The values that I need to append are stored in an AttributeManager column. I understand that I may need to create some type of looping function that will go through the list of attributes, append the first value to the end of the URL in HTTPCaller, run the GET request, save the results, get the next value in AttributeManager, append to the end of the URL, run the request, etc.. but not sure how this could be configured in FME. Ultimately we will need to place the results of all the GET requests in one data set.
Hi, I have 25000 dgn files and I want to convert all of them into a single shape file and want to add the following attributes in the shape file File name of the dgn as attributeLevel name of the dgn as attribute I would like to convert only the line geometry from the dgn files. Please help
Migrating from FME 2018 - FME(R) 2018.1.0.0 (20180717 - Build 18520 - WIN64)Migrating toFME(R) 2021.1.1.0 (20210730 - Build 21619 - WIN64) We have a web portal that triggers FME workspaces and gets a response. The HTTP Caller is used to POST a request to the portal (JSON message). It works like a charm in FME 2018. Migrating the same workspace to FME 2021, the web portal can trigger the workspace but it gets no response. We have checked the proxies etc. They all seem to be in order. Looking at the settings of the transformer, FME 2021 has two additional settings.HTTP VersionRedirect Authentication Looking at the help of 2018 - http://docs.safe.com/fme/2018.1/html/FME_Desktop_Documentation/FME_Transformers/Transformers/httpcaller.htm there seems to be no mention of the default version. So, the question is what does FME 2018 use? The error:
Hello FME Friends, Automation Apps Sneak PeekFME 2022.2 is coming, and with it is an important piece of new functionality in FME Server: Server Automation Apps. So me and my colleague Kezia Yu are hosting a Sneak Peek presentation next week, to unveil this new tool and to show you all how it works and why it can enhance your FME workflows. LinkedIn doesn't let me set up the streaming link until an hour before, so just reply yes to the above invite to keep informed. Q) How are Automation Apps different from Server Apps?A) Normal Apps are set up to run a workspace. Automation Apps are set up to trigger an automation. It lets us carry out a longer process than just one workspace. Community Survey Last ChanceYou have a final chance now to give me feedback in my mini-community survey. So far, I hear that... Hi, One FME Workbench user in my organization recently had FME Workbench 2022.2.0 (build 22765) installed on his Windows 10 (Enterprise 21H2) machine and it was working perfectly up until a few days ago. He even went on a Basic FME introduction course without any problems. But suddenly, FME Workbench won't even start up. According to Event Viewer in Windows 10, fmeworkbench.exe crashes because of an unknown error in Qt6Gui_fme.dll: However, FME Inspector runs just fine. To our knowledge, there has been no updates or changes to Windows 10 on his machine. We also tried deleting %appdata%\\Roaming\\Safe Software\\FME\\ but it made no difference to FME Workbench. Does anyone have any other ideas we could try out?
I have a dataset with a mix of 3D lines and arcs. When using the CoordinateRounder, it removes the Centerpoint Z Coordinate and changes the type from ArcByCenterpoint to ArcByCenterpointWithEnds . I do not want this.
Wondering if anybody have encountered the following issue before. I notice that in FME2019, I can put in any file paths (even non-existent ones intended for C:\\Temp) by text editor. FME2022 seems to block it with a warning and I cannot click OK in the dialogue whenever that happens. This happens both within Transformers and with Readers/Writers. Is there’s a new setting or a toggle switch somewhere that will bypass the warning? This screenshot illustrates the problem when I’m trying to upgrade a EMailer transformer to 2022 version (from 2019).
I am using geodatabase writer and I am using test filter before the writer and my data are lines and points .I would like to change the color of lines and points before writing it as geodata base .my target :when open the geodatabase file later.it shows different colors for different lines depends on specific attribute .so will be possible to change color of lines ?
Our Athena Connections are configured using a specific workgroup name (rather than the default primary one). Can I specify the workgroup name somewhere in the connection parameters?Below is the error I receive when trying to list the named queries for this connection.```AmazonAthenaConnector: An error occurred while listing named queries: 'FMEException: 936005: AmazonAthenaConnector: The requested AWS operation returned an error: 'An error occurred (AccessDeniedException) when calling the ListNamedQueries operation: User: arn:aws:iam::<nr>:user/testing is not authorized to perform: athena:ListNamedQueries on resource: arn:aws:athena:eu-west-1:<nr>:workgroup/primary because no identity-based policy allows the athena:ListNamedQueries action''```When I try to query with a specific query it (obviously) also fails, but with a more generic error:```AmazonAthenaConnector: The bucket 'pnh-raw-data-euw1-s3-factsheets-output' does not exist or can not be access
I have been trying this for a while and have been spending too much time on this. I saw, and downloaded, Dmitri's stopsigndetector workspace and had a go at it myself. I just have no way of getting it to work at all. Sometimes it seems to get a result (which never makes any sense), but running the same workspace again will then result in a crash. the problems I encounter:Sample preparer just doesn't work at all. Rejects incomming feauture without an error.sample generator. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Sometimes gives the error 'invalid background description fie', a file the transformer generates itself..?instability: sometimes any of the 4 transformers (sample preparer, sample generator, trainer and detector) just crashes without an errorLack of documentation I tried the relative path trick, without it nothing works, but that didn't help. I downloaded Dimitri'workspace: Doesnt'work. Crashes on the samplepreparer, no error message.
Hi everyone, I am trying to create a set of new attributes with the Attribute Creator. I would like to use the "import" option to bring the attributes from a CSV file. However, the transformer reads the attribute values as a "text" and not as Arimethic function (See picture for clarification ). Any idea on how to change that quickly? Or any better idea to obtain the same result? I mean create the following attributes: Name AttributeY1 =A1+B1Y2 =A2+B2Y3 =A3+B3Thanks in advance!.
I am using a template (schema only) to create many feature classes. the template already has a feature extent created that is larger that desired.if i don't use a template fme calculates the feature extent correctly for all included features in a feature class. Is there a way to override and include this information in the fgdb writer parameters?
Hello Everyone..I have an query regarding transpose for the attribute one feature elements are 25 as you can see in ID coumns ..Now my question is how can i transpose the column names to rows and their inforation related to the field..Please find the attached screenshot with the FME template with sample dataPlease provide how can i fix the issue Thank You
I m directly pushing data to AtcGIS portal and want I need is if source data have no data then ArcGIS also truncate the data and show me the NO data at the moment its showing me null values with object Id is there any way to show no data
Assuming I successfully get FME to use an ArcGIS Pro license instead of a Desktop license -- a current problem -- I would like to know how to direct FME to use my cloned and currently active Python environment instead of the default (and unmodifiable) one that got installed with Pro. I have added several modules and site packages to the clone that I would like to use in FME. I read in another post (lost track of it) that FME might only be able to use the original Python environment installed with Pro. It was suggested that maybe adding the paths to the site-packages and bin directories in the clone to my system path environment variable would allow use of the clone. I have done that ... but alas, I still haven't gotten FME to use a Pro license. This brings up another question, though. On a colleagues machine where FME is using a Pro license, the workspace translation log only reports the version of Pro that is being used: there is no indication of which Python environment is
EDIT: so i need to find a way to use the 1 feature set (just the pink lines) find a pair of them. (maybe the fuzzyparallelfinder would work for this) split those pairs so i get only one of them then do this perpendicular line long enough to cross the other pair, spatialrelate that back to pair a, filter those and then calculate that length. any ideas on how to pair and split each parallel set? (see comments below for reasoning)I have row line features. I need to determine the distance between them (or easement width). I have been successful creating polygons out of these by using the fuzzyparallelfinder (custom) transformer. I also need the easement width attribute assigned to each line prior to making the polygons.the method for creating the polygons is pretty simple using the fuzzyparallelfinder and then using a snapper and areabuilder. But i get very unbelievable values if i use the statistics calculator as described in other posts. can anyone help with what i am missing?
Hello, Is there a transfomer to know the direction a polyline was drawn (forward or backward) ? Thank you
I have a Python caller that eventually makes a dictionary Input: {1:a, 2:b, 3:c}Desired output: A representation of the code is below. I am not using the class. Just a simple function which coverts input list to dictionary. I also expose the key and value attributes. This is only representation because the actual code is quite complex. The code does what I want but I am having an issue writing them out as attributesimport fme, fmeobjects #Update connection propertiesdef processFeature(feature): # Initialize values list= feature.getAttribute('list') #Code to make list to dictionary #Output dictionary for key, value in dict.items(): feature.setAttribute('key', key) feature.setAttribute('value',value) returnAny pointers would be extremely helpful!
Hello,How can I convert an ASCII file to xyz csv file please?Thank you
I am getting the following error (out of the blue, I might add. One run, everything humming along fine until "bam", next run, license/Python compatibility error):ERROR : FME initialized 'ArcGISDesktop', but the workspace Python compatibility setting is 'Esri ArcGIS Python 3.7+'. Please check the Python compatibility setting in the workspaceI have both ArcGIS Desktop (10.8.1) and ArcGIS Pro (2.9.1) installed, and I am using 64-bit FME Desktop Professional 2022.2. My dropdown list for the Python Compatibility parameter, however, does not include separate listings for ArcGIS Desktop vs. ArcGIS Pro, only for "Esri ArcGIS Python maj.min" . (1) Does "Esri ArcGIS" mean ArcGIS Desktop?; and (2) if so, what do I need to do to get ArcGIS Pro choices listed in the dropdown and to get FME to recognize and use my ArcGIS Pro license instead of my Desktop license?
Dear FME friends,Welcome to What's Up Wednesday. For reasons of space, this is an extract from the full version of this newsletter, which you can find here on LinkedIn. The Peak of Data Integration, 2023!Even though the last user conference ended not long ago (or perhaps because it ended not long ago), I'm really excited that we already have online details of next year's conference! As previously announced, next year's conference is taking place in Bonn, Germany, in September 2023, hosted jointly with con terra. Yes, we're coming to Europe! So save the date for sure, but also start thinking about what story you would like to share, because the call for presentations is already open. Hexagons in FMEIn case you didn't know, there is an ongoing event called the #30DayMapChallenge. That's when you're encouraged to create a new map every day in November, each on a set topic. A recent topic was "Hexagons," and so I thought I'd use the H3Hexagona
