Hello all!I am writing polylines to an existing feature type in a GDB. It shows that 48 polylines are written, however when I open the feature layer in the inspector or in ArcGIS Pro it added 66 polylines. It turnes out the Writer split the polylines at the cross with another polyline and so the data is not duplicated, but divided. Is there a parameter that I missed that does that or is it a normal behaviour?Thank you for your help!Ana

i have a number of .bat files that launch python files. im trying to replace windows scheduler with FME and i am having trouble figuring out how to schedule a new task. i am using FME Workbench 2020.2.

I have a CSV file with attributedata that's structured kind of like this: apple man woman 1234-567\\1apple man woman 1234-567\\1Bapple man woman 1234-567\\12apple man woman 1234-567 child 890.1234-567apple A3 1234-567 I'm only interested in the 1234-567 number sequence, since this is an ID I need to match further along. The rest of the attribute data can be deleted. The number sequence seems to always have 4 numbers before the hyphen and 3 numbers after. The hyphen isn't essential and can be removed. The number are the most important How do I go about it? Do I need a stringreplacer or more than one?I tried this with stringreplacer, mode= regular expression, text to change set to: (?<!\\\\)[0-9]+But what do I fill in at replacement text? If I fill in a regular expressions in that field, it returns the regular expression...! I'm using fme desktop 2019 

i am using excel styler to color the back ground of some cells that contain specific word and it works perfectly if have few rows in one sheet .but if i have around 2000 rows in one sheet ,i found the excel output does not want to open and show me text that we have some problems with this file and it should be repaired to be able to open and after excel repaired this file , i found no color at any sheets existed . i have around 4 sheets ,sometimes i got few rows at output of workbench and some output files include lots of rows in each sheet and i found the problem i got because of excel styler when i have too many rows .but with few rows in each rows ,it works without any problem I hope if there is any solution for using excel styler to be suitable with any sheet ,no matter how many rows .Thanks in advance 

Dear community,I have a table with two records for which I want to get only the record where _min in row 2 is less compared to _min in row 1 (or using _max). Hence, for the table below I want to get the second row and all attributes from that row. Any ideas? 

I see the file geodatabase writer has pre and post writer SQL options. So I assume I can do some deletion before inserting. Can I do "delete from table where attribute = 'attributeValue'"? Not sure what the syntax should be. 

I have a writter that is an IMDF type. However, all of the writer properties are disabled and I can't modify and edit them. I should be able to add elements to the "properties" block of geojson.

I'm setting up a workbench that runs a SQL query on an Oracle db (using SQL Executor) and converts it into an ESRI Shapefile. The workbench is dynamic; we have about 200 pre-defined SQL queries stored in a config file that is retrieved at runtime based on user input and stored in a parameter. I've got everything in the workbench set up and working fine; a user can pick which query they want to use, the SQL Executor will execute the appropriate query, Schema Setter will build a list of attributes based on the SQL Executor, and they will be written to the Shapefile. The problem is the order in which the attributes appear seems to be completely random. If my SQL query is "select a, b, c, d, e, f ... from table" my resulting shapefile will show the attributes in something like e, d, f, a, c, b as opposed to the order in which they were queried. The order is the same each time so I guess it's not TOTALLY random, but I have no idea how it's getting

I'm currently working with a dataset that contains about ~1000 segments with multiple roads, each roadname contains multiple segments which are usually not connected and there is no field value that has any sort assigned to these segments. I would like to connect the "current" segment to the next segment if the roadname matches. My original thought process on how to go about this wascreate a line buffer where the endcap is square and only have the end cap extend out or "buffered" and have the width of the segment buffer size remain the same as the original line or ~1m buffer, however after looking into this I dont believe its possible to set different values for the buffer width and endcap.I would have used spatial filter and group by road namethen I would have used vertex creator to get the end gps of the "current" segment to be the start for the next segment for those flagged from the spati

Hi! I'm trying to define the encoding for my shp but directly on the dbf and not on the cpg. I choose UTF-8 on the parameters and I always have a .cpg file. I looked on the shp writer help and I saw this sentence :"The output Shapefile .dbf will contain the language driver ID for the selected or detected encoding, if no language driver ID is available for the encoding, a .cpg file may be generated instead." I don't understand what is a "language driver ID ". Can you explain ? Thanks!

Hi,I have been using FME 2020.1 for about 6 months now and suddenly today the Feature Count numbers disappeared while running a workbench (and after the workbench finished running). The Feature Counts appear if I run the workbench in Feature Cache mode, but not in normal mode. I'm not sure if I unknowingly changed a setting but I didn't think I did. I am using version FME(R) 2020.1.1.1 (20200817 - Build 20614 - WIN64).Has anyone else encountered this problem?

I want to copy all the feature classes (with attachments), tables to be copied from one ArcSDE to another ArcSDE.  I have added writer and in writer parameters, I have tired Feature Operation as Insert, Update, etc... Instead of updating the Feature Class, the data is getting appended to the Feature Class... Any Help on this? Thanks,Krish  

Using a set of input points (GPS data), I buffered each point by 1 meter to create square areas (polygons).  Now, I would like to rotate each square (polygon) by the bearing angle collected from the GPS data. Anyone know how to do this? I tried the Rotator, but after inspecting the output, this doesn't seem to work. Note: The bearing is an angle measured from North (where Due North is 0º), so Due East would be 90º.

I am wanting to search a PostGIS database using a Contains or Like query to search strings for a partial match. My last attempt is proprietor_1 LIKE '@Value(Name)' I also tried CONTAINS(proprietor_1, '@Value(Name)') proprietor_1 is in my PostGISName is in my routine Any assistance with queries would be great.

I have an IFC file that doesn't have an assigned horizontal and vertical coordinate system. I know that the coordinates are in EPSG: 2177 and Kronstadt (PL-KRON86-NH), but in milimeters. I created my own .prj files :.prj for EPSG : 2177 in millimeters.prj for EPSG : 2177 in meters (WKID: 2177).prj for Kronstadt in milimeters.prj for Kronstadt in meters ( WKID: 5705)I tried using Esri Reprojector but I couldn't set vertical system. I also tried using CSMapReprojector but I couldn't see. Does Kronstadt is supported by FME? Regards,Aneta

Writing data first time works well. If needed a new object is created in ArcGIS portal. But when try to insert the data (with or without a truncate) the next error i get. I've read a number of articles here regarding "dynamic schemas", but it appears I'm missing something fundamental, and so I will try asking my question a different way. I want to create a workflow that will read a CSV file that will change from time to time, either in the number and names of its columns, or in the number of rows that exist. The workflow will then "enrich" the data found in the source table by querying an API using the value of one of the source columns (which will not vary in name), and finally the workflow will write a CSV with the original columns AND the "enrichment" columns. My problem is not with the API calls or the "enrichment" process, but rather that I can't seem to figure out how to set up the workflow so that the correct columns are read and interpreted unless I manually press the "parameters" button in the FeatureReader transformer. I have a workspace that I am running locally on my computer. This workspace is connected to an sde database on Amazon EC2 instance. This workpace is very simple translation just a reader and a writer, the purpose of the workspace is to completely delete all features from the sde database. However when I publish this workspace to FME Server the translations fail due to this error. 2020-10-18 05:39:39 | An error occurred while attempting to open the table,[...]. The error number from ArcObjects is: '-2147216057'. Hello,this was supposed to be an easy one, but I can't figure out how to detect overlapping polygons. Why is there no "Requestor Overlaps Supplier" in SpatialRelator according to this spatial predicates. How am I suppose to detect overlaps?

Hi, I made a super simple 3 pages "Lorem ipsum" file with docx and saved as pdf, I'm new to PDF in FME and wanted to test just to add a simple rotated text using point creator, text adder, pdf formatter, but how about the next step?? How do I write the result to a pdf? Tried connecting my reader and my created text to a new pdf but the content is white except for my creted text, but I want to keep the existing text and just add for example a transparent text and an image, but its it more complicated than I thought. Do I need spatial reader or non spatial? Im only interested in adding extra stuff to every page to an existing pdf with the PDFStyler, then writing it as an addition to an existing PDF. Most happy answer would be a template workspace with:-PDF READER-PDF WRITER-PDFStyler that you can connect to the writer or multiple even to add to existing pdf (since I could not even make a simple read write pdf copy in FME)
