I have a dynamic Excel reader with a large number of tabs. I want to set both the "Field Names Row" and "Cell Range" at once. Is there any way to do them all instead of one at time?

I'm trying to write several geotiffs to a PostGIS database that has raster support enabled. I do this through the PostGIS Raster writer. I don't receive any error message when writing this data, and the translation is successful. However, when I attempt to view this written data in QGIS. I get an error message that looks something like this: GDAL provider Cannot open GDAL dataset.........Did you specify a 'where' clause too restrictive? ..... I was told that it could be because the raster metadata of the tables isn't registered correctly and that QGIS needs this data to render everything properly. Certain metadata like the SRID, the number of bands etc are empty, but in FME it should be able to add these constraints I have always set the SRID in the writer. I've also played around with constraints in the writer , but still no luck. How should I set my parameters?

I have been trying to set up the command line in the SystemCaller to: "C:\Program Files\FMEDesktop\fme.exe" "\\<UNC path the workspace>\UpdateData.fmw" But this doesn't work.  I have also tried using Task Scheduler for that workspace but it doesn't work either. The workspace never runs. Command lines in the batch file: "C:\Program Files\FMEDesktop\fme.exe" \\<UNC path>\FME\UpdateData.fmw^--SourceDataset_XLSXR_7 "\\<UNC path>\DataUpdates.xlsx"Actions were set as: Start a programProgram/Script: UpdateData.batStart in: \\<UNC path where the batch file is stored> Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!  

Hi, I have a workspace that was set up with Python Compatibility of Python 3.7+.  Customed Python interpreter and Python Home with python 3.7 within the ArcGIS Pro directory.  This workspace worked fine with FME Desktop 2020.2 but failed when I run it in FME Server 2020.1.1. The error message was:Python Exception <ModuleNotFoundError>: No module named 'arcpy' I tried to change the Python Compatibility to Esri ArcGIS Python 3.6 and it didn't work with either the FME desktop or server as it seems this only supports ArcGIS Pro up to 2.6. Can anyone please help? Would be much appreciated.  

I would like to combine lines into 1 line/route based on an attribute. The LineCombiner seems not to combine lines with a different orientation. So, if two lines have the same starting point, they are not combined. I put the parameter "preserve orientation" on "no", but this doesn't seem to have any result. The result has too many lines (different line at almost each beginning or endpoint of the incoming lines, due to a different orientation). Any suggestions?

Hi all, I have one polygon feature class. I am trying within this feature class to show clashes of polygons by specific dates.  What would be the best way to perform this and update this in real time? We have a editable feature layer and when user performs an update, i was hoping FME might be able to then show update of the clash on the map of the polygon. Is that possible?  I was considering use spatialfilter to do this but can't seem to work out the dates.

I'm trying to figure out how to group features based on a matching ID value and only if they have a date/time within 5 minutes of each other. For example, if I have two traffic jam features that both have the same road ID (they occur on the same stretch of road), with one happening at 12:15 pm and the other happening at 12:18 pm, these features would be considered a match and their attributes would be combined (total delay time added together, etc.). If on the other hand one had been reported at 12:15 pm and the other was reported at 12:30 pm, they wouldn't be aggregated. So far, I have tried using the Aggregator transformer but it's only able to group by attributes where the values are distinct which only works for the street ID part of my example and not the time part. Any suggestions would be extremely helpful.

I have a gazillion zip files with shapefiles and their sidecarts. I want to generate a list with the shapefile name and CRS. Attempts so far: Use a reader, specify shp, read the zips: doesn't work, FME doesn't know the systems and CoordinateSystemExtractor returns almost nothing The system is named in the prj, so I could extract it with the Python caller: nope, you can't specify prj in the reader, so good luck reading prj from the zip. Extract the zips creating a mess (at this point I am already better off using plain Python), ctrl+f prj and load them as text, then try to expose the fme_basename with the AttributeExposer: FME doesn't show it (if I expose the fme_basename right in the reader, in "Format attributes", it does show it however but that's not what I want) storm off to the forums <-- you are here So is there a sane way to do this?

Nice to meet you all. I appreciate your help.I could write the excel file with fme_dataset when I generated the workspace immediately. I could find fme_dataset in the user attributes.However, when i reopened .fmw, the fme_dataset in user attributes disappeared and could not write the field into excel.Besides, fme_dataset could not be imported to user attributes and fme_dataset00 would be imported automatically instead.

I got a feature reader that reads in excel data. If data exists i create points from that data. If data doesn't exist i need to create a point myself based on center of a polygon with "centerpointreplacer" transformer. How can I chose flow based on that scenario? If I can create points from excel then I dont want the centerpointreplacer to run.

How to access a zip file from an FTP site that has their zip files embedded in a grid?  Before I used to access it by hitting the URL Link like this (hover over the link and copy the url):  http://www.abacusdatagraphics.com/abadata/<file_name.zip> But now, they have changed their site and have the zip files in a modern grid like shown on the screenshot below: If I hover over the zip file I want, it does not display the URL link anymore. I either click on the check box and click a download button or click directly on the file and it starts downloading.  So How can I tell FME to obtain this file now without having the URL link ?  When I tried accessing the zip file, I used the following format which is correct, but I end up getting an error message. ftp://<user>:<password>@$<ftp server name>/<directory path>/<file name> error: Shape Reader: Failed to open dataset 'ftp://<user>:<password>@$<ftp server name>/<directory path>/

Hi,  I want to create a published parameter where the user get to choose their own excelfile in the workspace as the reader. The writer is set to read a column with the header "Fastighet". But the input attribute can vary depending on how the user are writing it e.g. "Fastigheter" "fastighet" "Fastigheterna" and so on. So my first problem is that I really dont know how to set up the configuration for the publish parameter so the user can choose which excelfile they want. And secondly how do I make the script understand how to read the header name/column name and what sheet to choose.

Hi, I am migrating FME 2017 workspace to 2020 version. in startup script, python script is having import cx_Oracle statement. when i published the workspace on FME Server 2020 version, i get below error. Python Exception <ModuleNotFoundError>: No module named 'cx_Oracle' please share your ideas to fix it. 

For MODIS LAI images in an FME output folder, how do I select appropriate images based on date ranges? Image date is given in year + Julian day e.g. A2021123 for 2021 May 3?

Hi, i had no trouble installing the msi file for FME Desktop 2020 but i can´t install the .exe for the 2021 version, Windows 10 always returns an error saying it can´t find the file. Tried unblocking the file, tried saving with a smaller name, nothing worked. Any ideas?

FME process is getting stuck while processing a particular table

I would like to how this mapping works when SpatialFilter does spatial relationship between bases and candidate. As per "Pass Criteria: Pass Against One Filter. Each address point only needs to fall inside one polygon – not all of them." Lets take consider example if I have base as Parcel shape file and candidate as building centroid. When I am applying SpatialFilter with pass criteria as "Pass Against One Filter" then map one building centroid to one parcel if match to one but if match to more than one like vertically overlapping parcel or stacked parcel. then how its link to one parcel out of those ?  Overlapping means like sandwich layer.  Any help here ?

My installation of FME Desktop for Mac has been running more and more sluggish for some time. The interface is very slow to respond. With the latest 2021.0 it has become annoyingly slow. It is not the actual processing that is the issue, but the software itself. There is a delay in scrolling around the workspace, menues and transformers are slow to open, and so on. I tried to uninstall all traces of FME Desktop and reinstall, but it did not help.It is running on a new and maxed out Mac Mini so hardware should not be the issue. Looking at the stats there is lots of unused memory and procesing power. Any ideas on what I could do to speed up performance?

I have added MS SQL Spatial writer in FME DESKTOP 2020.1.1.1 and I can view the table attribute other than geometry attribute. Can you please help how to view/access the Geometry field in MS SQL Spatial Writer
