FME Desktop 2022: How to add comma separator (thousands separator) and specify the number of decimal places? I couldn’t figure out how to add comma separator (thousands separator) and specify the number of decimal places as they appear in the table

I did a clean installation of the software as administrator but the startup screen hangs on loading transformers. Have anybody any idea? See screenhot attached

Is there a transformer to read the unique values contained within an attribute and then assign a new value? Similar to the way that the attribute manager works but for values. For example I have a dataset with the columns fruits: Fruits New Value-------- ----------------Apple > Green AppleBananaOrange > Blond OrangeKiwi > Golden Kiwi  Ideally the transformer would read the unique values listed in the Fruits attribute and then I could specify the new value for the output.  As I am working with large datasets, I do not want to have to create a mapping rule for every value individually. Ideally the values would be automatically clustered and would be presented in a table and I could then just specify the newly mapped value.

Hello everyone, I have this very large raster and a shapefile with polygons. My process is a looping one where the raster is clipped with each polygon. In order to avoid reading the whole raster everytime, I've created a subprocess that uses the polygon bounds directly in the search envelop of reader. Then, it is clipped.My problem arise when the polygon used for clipping is outside the raster extent. The "inside" port of the transformer is empty but the process continues. This output is supposed to be used later on in a script (arcpy custom transformer) to align many other rasters. But clearly all this fails because there is no raster.  The best solution I have come up with would be to add a Tester or something after the transformer and create a bolean value which would allow me to deal with this empty raster directly in the script. However, I can't seem to find a way to do that. Mind me, I cannot use the "outside" port since I always have an extra part to

Normally, there is a FME Desktop training available for every year on the following link: https://www.safe.com/training/recorded/. But for some reason there is no FME desktop 2021 available on this link. Is this only for 2021 the case or does it mean that FME desktop trainings will not be made available anymore online from now on?

Hello,After using the CenterLineReplacer transformer on a ploygon I get the following result. Is it possible to extend the line that was created before so that it reaches the edge of the polygon?  Thanks for your help

I have a 3D building file (stemming from a PostGIS reader) that is read correctly in FME (green object below). After exporting it as a File Geodatabase with geodb_multipatch geometry, I get the orange result. Any idea on what might be going wrong in the FeatureWriter?

I have a set of tabluar data with attributes (X, Y, EPSG). Where the ESPG can be any valid coordinate system. My goal is to create a set of points in a common coordinate system. I understand I could use a TestFilter for each EPSG I'm expecting then create points, but the workbench will fail if the data contains an EPSG code I didn't expect. What is the best approach to create points in a single coordinate system without hard-coding the workbench for a set of expected coordinate systems? Thanks

I have been linking S3Connector and the RasterExtentCoercer via the FeatureReader reading a downloaded COG to get its extent, but thinking about the nature of COGs, is there a way to only read the top layer overview instead of having to download the whole tiff? Downloading is ok for smallish files, but this would save a lot of time for large COG files.

I would like to be able to read all tables only from both an ESRI file gdb and our SDE db. There are additional feature classes, rasters, views and relationships in there that need to be excluded. If the view tables are captured that is okay - they all have a standard prefix of "View_" so could easily filter those out.  I was thinking I can expose the geometry and then select tables only or something. However I am having trouble figuring out the best way to do this. Perhaps this is not the best way. Basically all my tables in a single SDE gdb must be compared against tables split amongst multiple file geodatabases in another folder. So I'll merge all those file gdb's into one, and I need to be able to search through it and look at the tables only to find matches with SDE.  We have 50-ish tables and those table names can change so would like it to be dynamic. Is this possible?! :)

I would like to spatially join the point located at each pipe start, to link the attributes of each entity. I manage without problem to find the point for the beginning of the line thanks to a NeighborFinder, but impossible for the end point. How to do ? Hi all, Today I wanted to set an attribute based on incoming values of an fme_feature_type name. I noticed that if I wanted to avoid getting an 'Incomplete Transformers' warning from FME, I would have to expose the fme_feature_type attribute first, before I could use it in e.g. an Attribute Value expression of e.g. an AttributeManager or AttributeCreator. Note that it was possible to disregard the warning, and the expression would still work. I wanted to avoid the incomplete (red cogwheel) warning. But as I also wanted to keep things clean in the workspace, I wanted to perform both actions in an AttributeManager; first expose fme_feature_type in the first line, and then in the second line set a new attribute using the exposed fme_feature_type attribute. However, I noticed that the AttributeManager still shows up as incomplete (red cogwheel), and if I look at the summary annotation of the AttributeManager it only shows the line about creating the new attribute, but not the first

Last week a colleague asked me to help him to help him change his dependency of an Esri licence for his workspace, which in this case meant changing from an Esri GDB reader to an OpenAPI GDB reader. In his initial implementation, an Esri GDB FeatureReader was used, in combination with a Where Clause (constructed from incoming attributes), to only read in a portion of the GDB. Hello everyone,  I have an issue with an automatic process generating PDFs since an upgrade of FME server from FME 2017 to FME 2021. The process is quite complex but basically it creates network maps on demand. My issue is that, since the upgrade, the symbols rasterized on the maps are not rendered as usual. The symbols are imported from SVG files generated from an AutoCad dwg (because the network information is from an Autocad/Oracle DB). It uses MapnikRasterizer to produce a raster version of all the information, including the symbols as markers. I have identified the source of the difference in the rendering, it is how MapnikRasterizer handle the SVG. But I don't think it is directly related to the developement of MapnikRasterizer but how FME is integrating it and how FME handle the SVG. The SVG are made from Autocad blocks and most of them have an outline/contour of a slightly different color. So even a plain round symbol is constituted of two shapes.  My issue is that FME 2017

In a Workspace of acad2acad, some leader lines and arrows do not come through or move. RealDWG Reader and Writer solves a few scaling problems with blocks, but there remains a few leaders that don't make it or move:Before After It's not clear if the orphan leader on the left has anything to do with the annotation (different geometry and entity handle). autocad_arrow_head_on is TRUE for all. If it is something in the original CAD file, I have yet to find it. Not all leaders and arrowheads disappear.The leaders stay until it hits the Writer:Also, I am using a template that is set to the source file in order to get the paperspace titleblock. That is the only way I can get that specific paperspace info into the file (is there a better way?). If Preserve Model Space Data is set to yes, I get the leaders, but also objects that I was trying to change as well as the mystery "mirrored" orphan leader. I have a table called PROJECTS with some records sharing similar names. The objective is to find these records and merge them to one if possible. SamplePROJECTS table with Field1, Field2, Field3  From the above table, I want to look into Field3 and find similar names, such as Paper Company, Paper Company. and Paper Co and merge these into a single record. They are not exactly duplicates, but share a similar name. There are more records with similar names, so I can't hard-code Paper Company because there are more records alike that share similar names.  What transformers can I use to complete such task? Thank you.  

I'm attempting to dynamically map 141 different excel files containing attribute names (but no attributes) to the corresponding files that contain the actual attributes. There are 51 different files (.txt files in csv format) containing attributes for the 141 "schema" files, so a total of 7191 files containing data - none of which have attribute names in them (they all come in as col0, col1, col2...). Because there are 141 different schemas and because there might be new schemas added over time, I don't want to manually map the attribute names using an AttributeManager or AttributeRenamer. Also, they can change each year, so manually creating a schema file to use in a schema mapper doesn't make sense (the schema file containing the attribute names is horizontal, not vertical as well). I have been trying to use the FeatureReader to map the attribute name files to the attribute value files, as well as the FeatureWriter but I'm not having any success. Does anyone
