Welcome to our November FME Community User Spotlight.  Every month, we’ll be spotlighting a user in the Community whose active participation and helpful contributions have been invaluable to the community. We’re excited to highlight their experiences and insights!

User Spotlight: Matthieu Deloffre | @mattconsortech

What company do you currently work for?
Consortech

What's your current job role and title?
Data Integration Advisor

Tell us more about what you do and how you use FME.
I work as a data integration advisor for Consortech. I use FME when I develop solutions for clients, and when I offer technical support or training.

Why did you join the FME Community?
I joined the FME Community to stay up to date with everything that’s going on. I wanted to be more active within the community and try to help people the same way I have been helped when browsing the forum.

What did you do to get onboarded with FME, and what would you recommend to someone just starting out?

What tips do you have for users on how to get the most out of the FME Community?
Just check it regularly. Not twice an hour, but at least daily, to see what people are talking about.

Tell us about some of the exciting use cases you’ve built using FME.
I’m currently using FME Flow as an MCP server, and it’s been very exciting. I’m building different workspaces for different tools, fetching different data from public sources, etc.

What’s one of your favourite tips or tricks for using FME?
Maybe not useful for anyone, but I really like the dynamic documentation in FME Form. I open the documentation for one of my transformers on my second screen, and then every time I select a new transformer, the documentation page changes automatically. I think it’s just really nice to have it on the fly at all times.

If you were stranded on an island and could only bring three things with you, what would they be?
Realistically, a tent, a solar torchlight, and a lighter. Whimsically, a guitar, a hammock, and an espresso martini.

If you could work from anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I’m good where I am in my current city. I don’t believe being a digital nomad should be a thing; it’s bad for the environment.
