How to prevent connectors to autosnap to transformers. I want to turn off this feature. I want my connectors to stay put until I move them myself!,How prevent that connectors on the canvas auto spap to av transformer

WARNING & TIP! %Y%m%d%H%M%S Date/Time values in CSVs are NOT the same as FME Date/Time (%Y%m%d%H%M%S)!

I have CSV files with dates in the format %Y%m%d%H%M%S e.g.Mobile Inspection,Cancelled,20140905151941,20141107130117I'm using the CSV2 Reader in FME 2017.1 (17271) and reading in all CSV attributes as string.In DateFormatter, if I set my Source Date Format to FME Date/Time (%Y%m%d%H%M%S) and my Destination Date Format is %d/%m/%Y %T (I've also tried %d"/"%m"/"%Y" "%T), all I get is the Invalid Date value.However, if I set my Source Date Format to %Y%m%d%H%M%S and my Destination Date Format is %d/%m/%Y %T it works!So even though you might think FME Date/Time (%Y%m%d%H%M%S) and %Y%m%d%H%M%S are equivalent, they're not (at least not when reading CSVs).

How can i check, if all my lines are ahve a connection to each other. I have a net of multilines and i want check that all lines have a connection to min. 1 neighborline. Case: Can the bus drive from point 'a' to the point 'b' without any interrupt way/lines.?

How to Change multiple substrings at one with StringReplacer?

I'm new to FME so sorry for a noob question.I have a text file that is in the below format. How can I replace the characters with an index of 15:15, 25:25, and 30:30 with just the '|' character (pipe)? There are only spaces in now. I have been trying to use StringReplacer and set the "Text to match" with @substring ( , 15, 15) but it doesn't work. Strange side-effect of coordinateRounder

I seem to have a strange problem with the coordinate rounder. It looks like a bug actually, as I didn't have this issue in FME2016: I have read some features from an autodesk drawing (dwg). After using my coordinateRounder the information about entity type is deleted (see also the figures 1-3). It isn't that hard to make a workaround for this issue, but I don't understand why this is happening. I already found out that this isn't always happening with coordinateRounder.Does anybody have an idea?

Zip multiple CSV files with different schemas - Reader warning

I have several CSV files with different schemas that I would like to put into a Zip file before sending via the Emailer. Using the CSV2 Reader (*.csv, Identical Schema NOT ticked) with the CSV2 Writer (Zip file name as Destination CSV and fme_basename as CSV File Name in Writer) seems to work, but I get warnings like this in the Translation log:2017-04-06 12:22:58| 1.1| 0.0|WARN |CSV reader: Attribute 'wibble' exists on the schema but was not found in the file. This attribute will not be readI assume this is something to do with the differences in schemas of the different CSVs being read but I just wanted to crowd source some reassurance that this is nothing to worry about!

Loglevel DEBUGMSG not working in FME Desktop 2016.1.*

Recently I bumped my plugins version to 3.8.* and found the availability to make use of the new DEBUGMSG loglevel.I assumed it is bound to the "Log Message Filter" option in FME Workbench, but the messages are never logged into the logfile. It works for the other loglevels, though.Is this a known issue or how can I submit a bug report?

Is it possible to transform a whole ESRI data base containing several type of feature?

I have an ESRI database containing several type of Feature : geomoetric (points, lines, and polygones) and non geometric feature. I would like to know if it was possible to apply a transformers (ReframeReprojection) to this Reader and get the transformed geodatabase as Writer with the same structure than the first one?Thanks in advance,Arnaud

dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss date time values in CSV not being formatted by DateFormatter

Using FME 2017.0 (17271).I've got some CSV files (CSV2 Reader) with dates in the format dd/mm/yyy hh:mm:ss e.g. 05/04/2017 14:32:21 (note space between date and time). I want to use TimeStamper and DateDifferenceCalculator so I'm trying to ensure all dates are in FME Date/Time format. Modify coordinates

I have a shape file with location names in a meter grid. The position is right on top of the object so there is also a column with a XY offset in millimeters. I would like to add the offset to the position and create a new file where the sum of these becomes the new coordinates. What is the best way to do this?

Calculate coordinates of the center of a line

Dear FME community, I want to calculate the coordinates of the center point of a line with 2 points (begin and end point). The resulting coordinate (x,y) should be stored in two attributes, i.e. x_middle and y_middle. I've solved it with a series of transformers, but that's not very elegant. Perhaps somebody has an idea if there's a more easier way to do this. Kind regards Thomas

Rotating all features by a single other feature's azimuth

I have a set of CAD drawings all published neatly squared to a page, but not located or rotated to true north. One of the drawings contains some referencing that I can extract and use to then apply to the rest of the feature sets.Short of using pen and paper to write the results of an AzimuthCalculator value and then input that into a Rotator, how can i plug that output into the input?

Regex replace multiple consecutive string occurrence with single instance or the same string

Hi, (I am using FME Desktop 2015.1) Can anyone help with the regex needed to replace multiple consecutive occurrences of a flag which I have created with a single instance; the flag may appear as a multiple occurrence at many positions throughout the text. Each time I need to replace the many instances with a single instance. Please see examples below. Please note that as in the first flag grouping in example 1 it may or may not have spaces either side of the grouping. At present the 'flag' is (TMP_flag) but if this syntax (namely the parenthesis) cause an issue I can change them. SQL Executor Timeout

Hello,I'm getting a very confusing error from SQL Executor: Microsoft SQL Server Spatial Reader: Query failed, possibly due to a malformed statement. Query Text `SELECT * INTO #fme_tempAdoDataTypeTable_spatialReader FROM ( SELECT * FROM sde.[GRID_UK_1KM] WHERE TAG = 'TF2824' ) AS customQuery WHERE 1=0'. Provider error `(-2147217871) Query timeout expired' I have attached the settings of my SQL Executor. Timeout set to 0 which should mean no timeout. Any idea what could be wrong?Thanks for any help

Custom projection

Hi All,Im stuggling with this. I have a custom project that starts at the bottom left at 0,0 and ends at 10900 10500I know the locations x/y in the known projection system of this point. The custom projection works up in 100m x 100m grids.Is there a simple way to convert features from the known coordinates to this new custom grid?Thanks

Many to many spatial match

hi all, is there a way or a transformer that I can use to establish a match between two datasets at locations where there are multiple records? I am using the neighbor finder but when I have a location with say 2 records on both datasets being matched, I get a result of 4 matches instead of 2 thus duplicating the data. Your help is very much appreciated. Thank you

Python startup script to operate on an unpacked zipped File Geodatabase input

I have a GEODATABASE_FILE reader set to a ZIP file path.I want to run an ArcGIS geoprocessing tool on the contents before the workspace runs, using ArcPy.I can see the data unpacks to AppData\\Local\\Temp\\FME_TempFileStore_* directories.Is it possible to access the unpack location in Python? I can't see the path exposed in FME_MacroValues.

Hi,this topic is not new for this Forum. Nevertheless I need your support.I have understood that svg has got a XML-structure. I have also understood, I think, that i don't have to bother about crating the tags since this is accomplished by the svg-writer itself. The svg-file, viewed with an editor, I have created so far looks like this:I need to manipulate the stroke-width parameter (higklighted in the screenshot) by means of FME. Unfortunately I cant find the respective parameter among the various svg-writer parameters.Do you have an idea?

When points are too close, all but one should be deleted

A shapefile has a lot of points in it, and many of these are too close to each other to be shown on a map. I would like to - identify all points which are closer than 20 meters from each other - delete all but one of them- and add the text "multi" into a field for each point which is left remaining but had a point too close to it
