2020.1 Release Date?

Hi, is there an official date for the 'launch' of 2020.1 (Server & Desktop) yet please? We're looking to upgrade, but I'm unsure whether, given the timeframes, it's worth aiming for when 2020.1 is released out of Beta?Thanks,Martyn

Hello Therewe have the 360 JPEG, in order to view them in 360 viewers we need to have EXIF metadata, to that we use tools with many manual stepsis there a way we could do that using FME when we read the image and save it with all the EXIF metadata Sample image attached

Is it correct that if in a StringSearcher Case Sensitive is set to no that the expression \\x{03BC} should match both the micro symbol and the greek letter mu? \\x{00B5} also matches both if case sensitive is set to No

Find Published workbenches using X database connection

Is it possible to find all published workbenches that are using a specific database connection? Nothing is obvious in the UI of FME Server. I've managed to find fme_nc_namedconnections but I've yet to make the jump so i can see connections either in an automation or schedule or details of a workbench. Any help gratefully received......

dwg to gdb including symbology for arcgis pro

I can translate a dwg to gdb for in ArcGIS Pro. I can convert the autocad colors to rgb so I can match them in Arcgis. But....How can I translate all the symbology from the dwg-file to a gdb so I can see in ArcGis the drawing on exactly the same way as in Autocad?Thanks!

Could not Find a Layer/Table matching Feature type "name"

Nathan@safe I have created the Stop Sign Writer and the Height Restriction Writer and the RR Crossing Writer and then when I go to Insert the writer in the Workbench it requires a layer name that it already assigns or puts in there (we are free to change this to whatever we want as per FME Software Help) Everything runs beautifully ......right up to the very last instance of Global Variables Final State Summary When it runs …….it fails at the Writer because it cannot find that layer (I have used every conceivable Layer Name on this earth and it fails no matter what is used) ArcGIS Online Feature Service Writer: Could not find a layer/table matching feature type 'Stop' I am INSERTING and TRUNCATING on the writer to overwrite all and replace the FS with what I am writing out from the FME process No matter what I do it fails at the Layer Name Can you help me understand why it is failing there as I have searched everywhere in FME for this answer to a simple fail po

Error with ECW files in 2020.0.3

I can't read or use any ecw file in 2020.0.3 version.When I try to load them in FME Data Inspector, the program suddenly quits after a few seconds Even before seeing the image.I can't add an ECW reader to a blank workbench. It reports the next message: "Error running translation. Workspace generation filed."Everything is ok in 2015.1 version.

Find Longest Line Segment after Splitting Line Segment On Polygon Boundary

Hi, I am to perform a spatial join between a line and a polygon. In some cases the line will be crossing polygon boundaries (there are no spaces between polygons). For these cases, I want to split the line, and find out which segment of the line is longer, then assign that polygon's attribute to the original line. I've tried used the LineOnAreaOverlayer to split the lines, then using a Matcher to find 'duplicates' (lines that ended up getting split between polygons), and then the LengthCalculator. So I have something pretty close to the end product. I have a match_id value from the matcher so I know which lines belong to eachother (on top of a GlobalID that I'm using in the matcher). The issue I'm facing with this approach is that I do not know how to split these lines apart, or compare them against each other. Maybe I should use a sorter, then some type of filter to split every one feature into different features?

Hi guys,I recently joined a company and I look after a central system. My system integrates with many other systems to bring in data and host it in this central system.The big issue I found is the way various teams are capturing the data in their specific area and then struggling to deliver the data to my central system.The way they capture the data is through using excel forms or other mechanisms that allow for data entry mistakes. Also, the processes to push into my system is manual from their end.I was hoping to ask on here if you can assist with best practices to help develop and what experiences you had to improve this process:A quick, easy, and sufficient way for data capture to happen by the user who collects the data. Should we look into form entries where it can push into a database or other possibilities? Dynamic Writer Multiple Errors (Cannot find Schema & Geodatabase Error (-2147219884))

I finally think I have my head wrapped around dynamic writers but I am running to all sorts of errors What I am looking to do is use a NeighborFinder transformer to join admin boundaries to my data while also using the dynamic fields for each feature in a geodatabase.I am having multiple issues when trying to write dynamic dataOne issue I am having is that I am getting a "|Geodatabase Error (-2147219884): The Field already exists." error. I tried to remove/rename ObjectID and Shape fields with no luck.Another version of this workbench and I am getting "Cannot define schema for 'unknown' as the feature does not contain schema information, and schema source is set to 'Schema from Schema Feature'. Please verify writer feature type configuration" errorAnytime I change it back to Manual writer I have no problems writing the features to the geodatabase. Most common network_id from NetworkTopologyCalculator?

I am using NetworkTopologyCalculator to categorise streets by what network they are a part of, with the aim of only keeping the main network and discarding the islands.How do I determine the most common network_id value?And then how to I place that value into an AttributeFilter to only keep those features?

Attribute Header Mapping

I have a number of large CSV's which dont have headers for the collumns. I then have another CSV with the headers / attribute names. I want to be able to map the atribute names from the header csv to the incoming CSV's with the data in? I suspect there is a simple way of doing it but i can't find one. Any help will be appreciated.

Running the same desktop workspace twice simultaneously ?

Hi list.I need to run the same master-servant workspace setup med two different and non-conflicting sets of data and setup.I tried it yesterday, and first the master workspace complained about it being in use, and even when that's ok, it fails to run the workspacerunner, as the secondary workspace is also in use ?Does this have something to do with the log file being locked, and if so, is there a way to make this work ?My master only spawns workspacerunner once at a time, since I'm not sure parallel processing of the input datasets will work properly. So it's quite well behaved :-)Cheers.

DonutBuilder error

Hi.I have a dataset of polygons, which I don't trust entirely. It has a lot of smaller polygons (wind mills?) on top of property polygons.Most small polygons have been cut out of the property polygons, but not all. So I run the data thru the DonutBuilder, just in case.But I've found an error in the output, where a small polygon inside a larger polygon with a cut-out matching the smaller polygon, replaces the former small polygon with a new with the values from the surrounding polygon.I.e., the smaller polygon is inside the outer boundary of the larger polygon, but has already been cut-out of it. In this case a replacement wasn't warranted, but something happened anyway, resulting in the described error.Does DonutBuilder only use "entirely within" the outer boundary for its matching, or ?Cheers.

filecopy writer error on no overwrite

I'm trying to use filecopy writer to copy a folder and its subfolders to a new location. I want to use FME to periodically copy my working folders to the server instead of using a script. I have set the 'overwrite existing file' option to 'No' - the intention being that only files that don't already exist in destinations location will be copied.I get an error indicating that a file i'm copying already exists in that location or I don't have permissions to the source and destination. The file definitely does not exist in the destination location. I'm just testing this on my C drive and writing from one of my document folders to C:\\temp so there should be no issue with permissions. Also, I have I have also tried the 'yes' option which just overwrites everything and that works fine. I'm using FME 2020. Any help would be appreciated.The picture below shows the simple workbench. need to take email addresses from a AGOL table, and add to an existing text file, only if it doesnt already exist within this text file

Hey, So I have an ArcGIS Online Form, users enter an email address.FME periodically checks this AGOL table and grabs the list of email addresses within.What I am trying to do is insert these emails addresses into a local text file, but only if this email address does not already exist within this text file. This text file is simply a list of email addresses, think of it as a single column CSV file.If the email address is already in the text file, FME needs to go off and do other things (that part I have sorted).What is the most efficient way to test if the email address (its just a string) exists in an existing text file?I currently am using a feature joiner to do the test, joined means it already exists, unjoined means they dont already reside in the text file. This does not feel efficient, I am guessing there is a more suitable transformer out there?

How to group row in excel based on a common value in column?

I want to add <Name> together which can be opened and closed in Excel (visual compress), so i can see the different attributes for the same <Name> when opening the label. Does anyone know how we can use this in Excel? In the attachment is an example of how the <Name> value should look like.
