Build an 'IN' statement from id's while preserving Bulk Mode

Hi guys, I've been trying to reduce the number of hit's I need to make to a database by building an IN statement and get it all in one go. So far I've been pretty successful - my wait time from the database has been significantly improved! My process has been to use an Aggregator to collect the Id's into groups of 1000 (limit of features in an in request) - the GroupCounter has been really helpful for creating an ordered attribute to group by. Now I'm at the point where this Aggregation process is taking quite a bit of time (seconds) because FME is splitting the features tables. I'm trying to figure out a way to build a comma separated list from an column without breaking the feature tables. Anyone been able to do this or can think of a way that this might work? CheersMatt

Adding a line to another lines, and breaking at the intersection?

Hi,there are two sets of line feature. The lines of the first set are interrupted, figure 1. The second set is a whole boundary line extracted from a polygon, figure 2. The coordinates of point 1 and point 3 are equal, so do point 2 and point 4. Now I want to add the bottom line from the second set to the first set, leaving this yellow line, and breaking at the intersection. What should I do? Thank you so much.

How to escape single quote (') in SQLExecutor

Is there an escape character for the SQL text box in the SQLExecutor?If I try the following SQL against and Oracle database - select OFFICER from officer where lower(email) = '@Value(userName)'where userName value is in the format of it will fail because FME turns @Value(userName) into a string (evidenced by highlights in this picture).If I format my userName field to 'myemail@address.com' and remove the single quotes in the query as per this picture, the query will succeed Obviously I can run this through extra transformers to format my values beforehand but this is adding unnecessary processing and workbench bulk.Here https://knowledge.safe.com/questions/36933/how-to-prevent-single-quotes-turning-my-parameter.html @daleatsafe has stated that FME doesn't touch single quotes, but it appears from my first picture that it does? Sorting date fields from Oracle numerically - error unless bulk mode broken

Possibly something that may already be addressed - this is in FME 2019.2.3.1If reading a date time field from Oracle, if you try to sort this field numerically you get an error message, presumably because the date times are seen as stringsFailed to sort Feature Table. Ensure fields you wish to sort by are of a sortable typeBreaking bulk mode, e.g. with a python caller, addresses the issue and the sorter works.

Bulk Mode - What are the Performance killers?

I've been working on a new workflow and in 2020 I've been excited to see the increased support for Bulk Mode - It's awesome. However, I feel like in the workflow that I've been creating Bulk Mode has been causing some performance issues. SharePoint reader FME 2020 error retrieving list of lists

So today I learned about how to use webservices and connect to a SharePoint online list using my organization credentials.Regular old SAML wasn't cutting it so I had to use the WebService feature of FME.I created a new template by replacing the [tenant] with the subdomain to which I was trying to connect. And everything went swell, I authenticated successfully and the connection saved.Then I went and created a new workspace with a new reader for the SharePoint reader.The good news is that the authentication went successfully.The bad news is that when I then clicked on the ellipsis to select the list, it didn't work. Automation Logs - filtered data

Hi,So I've been experimenting with this automation where an external application triggers a webhook and passes a message. I then filter the content by looking for the existence of a string and then trigger a topic if found and also log it. If it fails, another filter is applied and another topic is triggered and logged. And finally the same happens with another topic if all filtering fails. The goal of the log at each stage was to help in debugging but I'm finding that ALL logs are identical and that was definitely not my expectation. Shouldn't log actions only work and store data if actually triggered through a connection? Or am I misunderstanding how the new log action works? This is in FME Server 2020.1 beta. Thanks.

custom transformer

I make a custom transformer local machine. This custom transformer I can not open in the remote environment. The same issue occurs when I make a custom transformer on my remote device I cannot find this transformer locally. My default path is the same: I:\\APPDATA\\FME\\FME_Conn but I cannot find my custom transformer on any of my disks.What is the problem? and how can I sync the path for custom transformers so I can use the custom transformer in any environment?

Convert entire POSTGIS schema (1900 tables) to KML subfolders inside a single directory KML file.

I have 1900 tables inside a single schema inside a PostGIS database. I need to convert each table into a KML folder and then have all folders placed inside one giant KML parent folder and viewed in Google Earth. Additionally, I have 5 syle colors classes I need to apply to the tables as well.

OSM PBF key:ele - no value

I'm reading OSM PBF and having a problem to retrieve the value for the key ele (elevation) for feature type natural_peak. When adding the reader, FME detects and expose the following 2 attributes from peak : name and ele (as defined in config file). There might be other attributes available in the feature information window that I can later expose.However, attribute "ele" is always empty, even though the information is avaiable on the node (verified on OSM directly). I have tested with different datasets (the French Alps, Caribbean) and FME never retrieve the elevation value. Looking in the feature information window, the attribute "ele" is never present which make me think that FME do not retrive this value at all using the OSM PBF reader.Any ideas ??

how to extract 360 panorama from e57

Hello guys;I got some 3D Scan laser scan data as an e57 format and as soon as I open each setup I see that it contains point-cloud data and 6 raster imageries. This is great as I can combine all the point cloud and generate 360 panoramas for each set up I'm having hard time to extract coordinates from center of the 360 and build a single raster from each set up. No idea why I'm just able to preview just on of the raster and all the remain looks like contains same metada. My guess is that I'm missing something.Any one with experience extracting 360 panos from and e57 (Coordinates of center of the pano and a single raster?) Thanks

PDF filename when using Data Stream service with PDF2D writer

Hi,I would like to set the default filename for the PDF which is opened in my Data Streaming service (using the PDF2D Writer). I can't work out how to do this. Arcpy progress within PythonCaller

Is there a way to monitor the progress of an arcpy process that is running from PythonCaller? I'm running the Create Rapid Graphic tool, which is nested with various sub-processes to create the MXD. I'm not necessarily looking for a percentage complete, but rather which sub-process it may be working on at any given time.

Clip 3D result from BRepSolidBoundaryCreator.Beta

Hi,I am using BRepSolidBoundaryCreator.Beta to create a 3D-model with our terrain mesh as the top layer. The model is created without problem, but after clipping the model, edges of the clipped model is jagged and geometryvalidator shows the sides and some parts where the sides break the top layer as "InvalidParts" due to non planar surfaces. It works just fine if I generate a mesh with 90° corners to run through the BRepSolidBoundaryCreator.Beta and not clip it. The goal is however being able to clip the resulting 3D model to any shape, save it as in STL-format and still have sharp edges. Any ideas on how to achieve that? My workbench so far:My result:

Geometry Definition: How to write this instance

Hello, Whilst looking at ifc and revit files, I saw that some instances are written away as Geometry Definition and Geometry Instance.I was wondering how you do this in FME. I was looking at the GeometryPropertySetter but I dont' see any possibility to write away geometry definitions.I also looked at https://knowledge.safe.com/articles/54027/creating-and-using-geometry-instances.html#:~:text=A%20geometry%20definition%20is%20a,and%20a%203D%20affine%20matrix.&text=This%20is%20especially%20true%20if,is%20very%20large%20or%20detailed.But I could't really work it out myself.Anybody can point me in the right direction. Geometry field of Temp table not recognised in PostGIS reader

I have a PostGIS query which involves interating over a cursor and inserting the results from each iteration into a temp table. Once the loop has finished the the results of the temp table are returned. FME is reading the geometry field as an attribute not as the geometry. I've now run out of ideas - I've tried renaming the geometry field, explicitly casting the output as Geometry type, adding an index on the geometry field on the temp table. Nothing works. Shape to kmz issue. Workbench runs and records getting written, But then the KMZ is 0 bytes.

update hundreds of schedules' parameter value

Hello, I need to update one parameter for all my schedules (about 300 active schedules). I'm looking for the easiest way for that. I tried to do it manually on FME configuration DB but I can see then even though parameters are updated still schedule is executed with old values. It takes effect only after editing schedule using FME Web Portal, then I can see updated value and when I click save schedule is updated. I believe that this is because of some kind of cache mechanism on fme scheduling system. So is there any way to force FME to reread values of parameters (for example by restarting some components?). Please keep in ming that I have a lot of engines on different machines. Second option that comes to my ming is to use REST API but it is not as easy as executing update script on DB. And executing script on DB has advantage that it can be a transaction so either I have all schedules updated or none. Using REST API doesn't give me that out of the box. Thanks for any hints!

Line towards or away from point

This seems really simple but I cannot figure it out. I have a linear feature connected to a point with a triangle on the line which shows the direction. How can I determine if the line is headed away from or towards the point? I need to know if the triangle follows the line to the point, I have other ones I need to check that will not be a straight line to the point. Thank you in advance!

FME Server Fault Tolerance with Distributed Engine Hosts

DGNStyler line width not working.

DGNStyler line width has on effect on lines when viewing in Bentley softwrae. I'm translating from a GeoDatabase to Bentley DGN format. I have a cell library for symbolizing cells but lines should just have a color and a width. It doesn't matter what width I select, it comes in a a very thin line with no fill.
