Writer only in Navigator Pane

Hello, It seems this has happened more than once, so I feel like I'm missing something. I will create a Writer and it will show up in the Navigator Pane but not the workspace, which begs a couple of questions. 1) What did I do wrong or what should I do to avoid the ghost creation? and 2) How can I add the Writer to the Workspace from the Navigator Pane. Updating a Geopackage file issue

Hi,I need to update geospatial data in Geopackage format from a Google Sheet file that contains addresses to geocode that are updated regularly. The process of creating points via geocoding works very well. However, I need to create buffers around points based on an attribute of a field and use the existing Geopackage output file to add the update news. I also have to update the output file of the points in order to add the new entities to the Geopackage file by specifying in my output file the table to update. Unfortunately, when I run my workspace I get the following error message:OGCGEOPACKAGE writer: Requested feature type 'zone_buffer_300m' does not exist. OGCGEOPACKAGE writer does not have the ability to create new feature types. Create the feature type on the dataset before writingOGCGEOPACKAGE writer: A fatal error has occurred. WorkspaceRunner in Custom Transformer: wait untill all results are ready

Hi, A question closely related to this older post: https://community.safe.com/s/question/0D54Q000080hE6vSAE/workspacerunner-how-to-catch-all-items-created?t=1657893646062 I have placed a WorkspaceRunner in a Custom Transformer. The WorkspaceRunner is set to Wait for Job to Complete. With the suggestion from the older post, I have placed it in a custom transformer so it can run multiple jobs in parallel but still is able to wait untill jobs are completed. Parallellism is set to Moderate, so 7 threads can be used on my machine. I can see the first 'batch' of 7 results being send out of the custom transformer. Later I can see the next 7 results being send out. But immediately after, it's not longer waiting for the other 115 Jobs to finish and continues. I have tried to prevent this by using a FeatureHolder and a Sampler (Last), but no result. Flow should only continue after finishing all 129 features. Any ideas? How to get a reader to read a file name with a Brace { character in it?

Folks, I have a huge number of access databases the include the '{' character. FME is clearly trying to treat this as a wild card character instead of a part of the file name. Is there a way to get FME to READ them as names not wild cards from the reader? Otherwise im going to have to bulk rename a lot of files... thanks.

How to stop high CPU usage overheads with windows security scanning each FME desktop temporary file write

Using FME(R) 2021.2.5.0 (20220331 - Build 21816 - WIN64) desktop on windows PRO build 2009.1766 65g RAM, 6 cores, experiences massive CPU drain when running a LIDAR density analysis out to raster via the custom transformer as in article - Calculating Point Cloud Density (safe.com)The two step tiler seems to trigger a Windows security scan when using the FME_TEMP directory as FME writes the (many) temporary cache ffs files down to disk when demanding a 1m high res raster result. The security kicks in and the CPU starts skipping up to 80%+ which drags the performance way down on large LIDAR file sets. Setting the raster res lower (10m) doesn't seem to trigger the same issue The FME_TEMP directory cannot be included in the security white list (corporate policy settings only - as each workstation /individual may have a different FME_TEMP location), and therefore although FME and the install directories are white-listed per FME Community (safe.com), the FME_TEMP directory is subject to

Usability of DGN seed files

Earlier I asked about writing out DGN files with coordinate system.That's apparently not possible until now. But I would like to know how I can use seed files to get at least the symbology of a seed file into the DGNV8 writer. I referenced the seed file in the settings part of the DGNV8I reference a cell file in the settings as well I read my data in, define the level names in an AttributeManager based on the input data, use the PROJReprojector, to adjust the input data to the coordinate system of the seed file, and connect to a dynamic DGNV8 writer. In the DGNV8 writer I am missing the possibility to state that colour, style and weight will be used on the level, and not the individual object in the level. The level and level overrides section in the writer I cannot understand. My output dgn consists of multiple levels, yet the settings seem to point at one level only.Hence, I do not know how to configure the writer correctly.Leaving the level settings part undefined, but setting

How to stop StatisticsCalculator from converting a summed value to scientific format?

I'm trying to sum a series of values by an ID in the StatisticsCalculator (using the group by function) and the summed values keep returning as scientific format (5.9e-6) but I want the decimal number (0.00000599). How do I do this? P.s it only seems to happen when I set to group by.

Shared Border Lengths Between Polygons

Hi,I have a shapefile with municipality polygons and I am using the SpatialRelator with the option "Requestor Touches Supplier" to count the number of neighbours of each polygon. However, I need to know the lenght of each common border for all polygons. Is there a way to output that information? In QGIS is posible (as explained on this link https://spatialthoughts.com/2020/04/08/calculating-shared-border-lengths/#more-962 ) but it's not very fast to run, therefore I would like to do the same in FME.Thanks and best regardsOscar

I want to mosaick 188 netCDF files into a single netCDF file. I get the errorNetCDF writer: Failed to end definition. Rcaller Output having issues with a list of output attributes

Hi,I want to run some Rscript and so installed an R-interpreter and installed some Libraries. As a test case I downloaded the workspace from a rather old article "RCaller: Ins and outs of using R in FME". The workspace is from 2020 though so i ran it on both 2019 and 2021 versions but it returned the same error in both cases. Actually the exact same error as mentioned in the article itself: "Failed with exit code 1 when executing R script. Output was: Loading required package: gsubfn.......". Now the article mentions to check spelling but as the workspace is an exact copy from safe I expect that to be tested and ok and furthermore that is just not the issue as the line "fmeOutput<-data.frame(meanEst,meanAct, r2, m, k)" in the Rcaller works just fine if I just pick one of the columns for output, irrespective which one. e.g. "fmeOutput<-data.frame(r2)" But the moment I comma separate a few data frame columns for output I get the error.Any hel

Have workspace start with nothing in user parameters

I would like my workspace to start with nothing filled in the user parameters. I tried creating presets but that doesn't work as the workspace is being used in a Gallery app and there is no access to the presets there. Is there a way to have the workspace saved so it opens with no values in it whenever the user opens the form?

Which transformer can I use to convert text from a dgn to points or cells? The origin of the coordinates should be retained and the actual text should become the new cell name. Example: Text: "House" --> cell name: "House"

How to indicated missing vertexes when two polygon geometries are either intersecting or they share common border?

During manual QC of the data I see that there are some geometries that share common border, but the vertex in that place is missing.I looked at the vertex creator and snapper as a fix, but I don't think this exactly what I'm looking for.

Set ArcGIS Server Feature Service via FeatureReader with Spatial Filter via attribute

I created a Custom transformer that contains a FeatureReader set as Esri ArcGIS Server Feature Service.I want to set Spatial Filter via an attribute. For this I created a conditional attribute (DE-9IM) with values TT*TT**** for Intersects and ********* for <No Spatial Filter>. If the case is that there is no filter, a conditional WHERE CLAUSE activates.The problem is if the case is that there is no spatial filter the FeatureReader returns no data.What is the corect DE-9IM value for <No Spatial Filter>?

Timeout error running multiple WFS readers.

I have a workbench set up with multiple WFS readers, default parameters. It will run 1 reader and complete its process. When moving to the next WFS reader it will throw a timeout error: [2]: HTTP transfer error: Timeout was reached[2]: Please ensure that your network connection is properly set up[2]: No proxy settings have been entered. If you require a proxy to access external URLs, please ensure the appropriate information has been entered<WFS> Timeout was reached- Unable to fetch the capabilities document: If I disable readers and run each individually they all work. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Why do all my workspaces hang on 'LogCount_func'?

Hi all! I've noticed a strange issue with my workspaces, and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar. Basically, whenever I run any of my workspaces, the translation always hangs for several minutes at:FME API version of module 'LogCount_func' matches current internal version (4.0 20220317)and the next logged action (in the workspace I'm working with currently, at least) is:Loaded module 'FeatureJoinerFactory' from file 'C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Data Interoperability for ArcGIS Pro\plugins/FeatureJoinerFactory.dll'Eventually, they always move past it, but it sometimes hangs at this step for several minutes before continuing. Is this something wrong with my workspace, is it a known bug, or is this normal? I'm happy to share one of my workspaces or more details if that would help. I'm using FME(R) 2022.0.0.2 (20220518 - Build 22343 - WIN64) on Windows 10 with an Intel i5-7300U CPU and 8 GB of RAM.

Hi Team, we have deployed fme server 2020.1.3.0 version into the linux machine. It is having python 2.7 version. Currently, one of the workspaces requires python 3.0 support. So, Is there any posibility that I can upgrade to the python 3.0 ?

Assistance needed connecting to Microsoft Dataverse

I have been able to connect/authenticate to Dataverse with Postman by following the steps in this guide: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/developer/data-platform/webapi/setup-postman-environment I have tried using the Dynamics 365 web service for this connection, but could not get it to work. I am trying to create a new web service in FME Desktop that uses the OAuth 2.0 implicit grant type to retrieve at token, as in the steps from the linked guide, but have been unsuccessful at this as well; when I try to authenticate or create a new web connection from the web service, I am unable to get the browser window/sign in prompt to appear and allow me to enter my account credentials. I am attempting to create this web service as a new Token Service, rather than a new OAuth 2.0 Service, as the parameters for this type of service seem to be what I need to enter/what I am doing with Postman.

Attributes in Esri Mosaic Dataset

Good day, I'm using FME desktop to create a mosaic dataset of some imagery in a file geodatabase. In the footprint attribute table there are default fields "Name", "GroupName", and "ProductName" that are able to be edited in ArcGIS. Is it possible to write this data to the mosaic dataset in FME? Right now I'm populating these attributes in an AttributeManager transformer, but they are obviously not being added to the mosaic. The "Name" field seems to be populated with the basename of the rasters I'm adding I'm using FME Desktop 2021.0 with the ArcGIS Pro 2.8 data interoperability extension.

Have there been changes in the way the coordinates work between FME version 2018 and 2020? I am using Smallworld 5.1 6 and upgrading FME to 2020 and noticed that the Text is translating at a different scale then FME 2018 using the same FMW file.

I am translating from Smallworld using coordinate system AZ83-C to MicroStation V8i coordinate system AZ83-CF. text size should be 8 but is scaling up to 26. it works fine when using FME 2018..

Replace string value NOT matching regex, else <null>

Hello,In one field, I want to keep all string values matching the regex:\\d{4}-\\d{2}-\\d{2}and relegate all strings NOT matching that string to:<null> See following image for my attempt where I developed ^(?!\\d{4}-\\d{2}-\\d{2}).* as the negation of \\d{4}-\\d{2}-\\d{2} and set replacement to <null>. This did not work. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!Tyler

List all files from folder(s), read in some files and process these in FME.

Hi! Here's an overview of what I'd like to achieve:User selects a folder.FME reads in all the files plus those in sub folders.An attribute filter filters out those files required. The attributes to filter by will have already been set.Selected files are then read into workspace and processing continues.(all files are either .csv, .xls or .xlsx) Having read this post this user is trying to accomplish the same thing. But I am unable to set up the FeatureReader to read the contained data in a file. Please can you let me know how to do this or is there a better method? Thanks.
