Just a minute ago I did discover something I did not know yet: it is possible - to my surprise - that it is possible to retrieve a password stored in a User Parameter using a simple ParameterFetcher!Passwords stored in User Parameters are encrypted (see e.g. this post), but the ParameterFetcher just returns the decrypted password in plain text... :-(So everybody with access to a workspace with passwords and FME Workbench can just use this fetcher to retrieve all passwords.OK - maybe I have been a little naive... :-) But this is surely something to take into consideration.

What would be the most convenient technique for querying data stored on Azure Data Explorer (ADX) from FME Workbench? Should this be done via a HTTPCaller?

Is there a way to easily pull all of the SQL statements out of all of the SQLExecutors in a workspace? I have several automations that I need to do this for and some of them have hundreds of SQLExecutors in them.

Hello , i have geodatabase data as input ,it includes different points ,lines ,annotations . I would like to read this data in FME workbench and filter specific data from them for city then write the output again into new geodatabase writer .my problem : when I use spatial filter and use the specific city as filter and the geodatabase data as candidate .so the passed port include all data together and for sure not each input has the same attribute names as other .How could I write the output for my data (passed port ) into geodatabase format and each writer includes only his own data without any problem . 

Is there a way using a regular expression to split a string of text such as an address by a number of words/spaces? Or even more functional, split a line at the first space after a certain number of characters?

Hello everyone, I try to automate a monthly calculation of water deficit, based on monthly rainfall data. Each feature is characterized by a year (integer), a month (integer), and rainfalls (float). The calculation involves the water reserve at the end of each month ("final reserve"), based on rainfalls and number of rainy days.  My challenge is that I need to carry this quantity to the next month ("former reserve" of current month = "final reserve" of previous month). Easy to do in Excel, but I'm not sure if this is possible and how I should proceed in FME.  Is there a matter of "iterative calculation" here, since the data of each month depends on data of previous month ? Should I convert my "year " and "month" integer into date format ? Thank you in advance !Regards,Arnaud 

Hi, I'm running a simple workbench that converts a single dwg to GeoJSON. when I start the process normally in FME it works fine. But when I make a bat+tcl I see that the path to the dwg file changes and there is a "\\" missing between the folder (Linjedata) and the dwg file (T_E6SL_P00_f_C_E6-Profillinje.dwg) (AutoCAD Reader: Error opening file 'C:LinjedataT_E6SL_P00_f_C_E6-Profillinje.dwg' during version check) Is this something I can change in the tcl file? However, I got around this by putting the dwg file on C:, but then I only get a new folder with the same name as the dwg file with an empty file called "C" inside as the result, instead of a GeoJSON file. What I'm trying to achieve is just the same as when I start the workbench in FME, but run as a bat file.

While preparing this, I found shockingly little information on the specific parameters I could use to interact with some specific phone-app functionality. This ... was the most informative post, noting 'We are still working on our documentation.' two years ago. How do I make the app ask for a QR-code?Can I somehow consume a picture?I seem to be able to get the location of the device with a specially named text-parameter. Are there more of those? Please, give this app some tender love and care in the documentation. Give it a technical blog-post and some example workspaces one can upload to ones own server as a startingpoint.. Martin

I have a CAD layer of control points which have two labels around it. I'm trying to extract the neighboring labels and add them as attributes in the final geodatabase. I have tried using NeighborFinder but it captures the nearest label only. I have tried to use a Tester to differentiate between the two labels and then run NeighborFinder but it leads to multiple records. The red circled is the control point and orange circled are the labels.  How can I capture the attributes and have 5 points in the output rather than duplicating them? 

I'm using HTTP Caller for geocoding adresses, but somehow I'm getting randomly lot of 400 responses - e.g. 2 of 12 calls are succesfull. If I copy paste the URL from error log to browser I'll get the result correctly.I'll share the worspace template temporarily including the API key of Geoapify. I don't know why I'm getting 400 (bad request).

I am trying to select a polygon located in between other polygons. All polygons are saved in the same layer. Either NeighborFinder or AreaOnAreaOverlayer do not provide the result I am after.

I have made a script that writes data to Oracle database, using FeatureWriter.Before I write data, I use FeatureReader to read number of records. At the end of the script I want to know how many records there are now.I also use FeatureReader for this. The results are always the same as before and after the transactions. It seems that the 2nd FeatureReader has already started before the transactions have been processed. I have tried with Oracle Reader, 2nd connection parameter, SQLExecutor.The results are always the same as before and after the transactions.Also using Triggerer and Decelarator. Something has to happen that the 2nd FeatureReader will 're-read' the table. Anyone has a suggestion ? Thank you in advance ! 

I have a set of features, all with IFMELine geometry, where some are closed and others are not. The closed ones vary between 2D and 3D closure. I can inspect these features and see the Closed propery right there in the Feature Information:(The straight line to the lower left of highlighted box has Closed = No, as one would expect.) So, for every line in the set, Closed is visible in the Feature Information window and has a value of Closed In 2D, Closed In 3D, or No; however, when I then run this set of features through a GeometryPropertyExtractor, all features are Rejected with the MISSING_GEOMETRY_PROPERTY error. The setup for this transformer in my workspace looks as follows:The transformer was working yesterday. Today, it isn't, and I swear I haven't changed anything. (OK, yes, apparently I did, but I can't for the life of me think what.) Am I missing something simple here? (Feels like a "facepalm" situation, for sure.) Thanks, All.

I’m currently receiving polygon geometry from various consultants, using various methods for deriving the polygons from Raster’s (GeoTiff). As part of our Data Validation process I validate all geometries to OGC Standards. Which, depending on software used, results in different issues, or not.While working through methodologies, to provide consultants with Software Specific guidance, I noticed that when using FME to generate the polygons it results in a Hole Outside of Shell geometry Issue's see Image below.   We have only come accross this issue in FME, we have used ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS and GDAL/OGR. The ESRI products result in 'Self Intersections', but the ArcGIS Pro 'Repair Geometry' Tool set ot OGR, fixes the issue. Both QGIS and GDAL/OGR are the only tools tested which by default result in OGC Compliant Geometries as outputs.I would like to be in a position to generate OGC compliant outputs from FME, considering we are using FME for our Validation process.I

Hi, we have some problems during clipping raster datasets!So the black area in the example is successfully clipped. But then as result we have raster clipped by clipper. But FME makes the raster square again and fills the missing pixels black. I can remove these nodata values but then sometime black pixels inside the raster are also deleted not only the black areas on the edge! We want to get only the clipped area without black areas. It does not have to be square.Is this possible?

I currently have a dataset, see top half of picture below, that I wish to transform/transpose into the format that can be seen in the bottom half of the image. The blue/green/peach coloured fields are date/measurement.   I am totally unsure of where to begin with this, the current transposer tools seem to only be able to do simple transposing without adding the additional rows of location/sourcetype/date/measurement I need. As can be seen I want to make a individual row for each date/measurement combination.  I have also attached sample data in xlsx and csv. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi When working with full Desktop FME it is possible to set where the log file is written to disk through the GUI (or set it to be a parameter), however when working with the ArcGIS Data Interoperability Extension version setting the log file location is not available in the GUI (none of the workspace parameters are). Is it still possible to set where the log file should be written to on disk through a variable or is this functionality removed for a reason? Ideally, I would like to write the log file to sit alongside the data being processed. ArcGIS Desktop 10.5 which uses FME 2016 Many thanks Duncan

I have a dataset that includes 'from' and 'to' values in separate columns. The 'from' column contains latitude and longitude coordinates. Both 'from' and 'to' values are unique.My question is: How can I create a line that connects the 'from' and 'to' values in FME? I would like to visualize the connection between these points using a line geometry.Any guidance or suggestions on the workflow or transformers to use would be greatly appreciated.Thank you in advance for your help!
