Using FME Desktop 2016When I use the dissolver to merge geometries based on the same id I still get non-unique id polygons. I use the group by parameter on ID. Why could this be failing?

Hi,I'm trying to write existing features into a relationship class with the new SDE writer. My source and destination features already exist, and I want to populate the relationship class with the known PK of each features, but it seems impossible with this writer. I follow this article : https://knowledge.safe.com/articles/28340/working-with-geodatabase-relationship-classes-atta.html, but it seems we can only write to relationship class if we also write the corresponding features in their tables.Is there any way to write to a relationship class like a regular table?Thanks

Hi ,I have 2 input readers , a GDB an a DGN files , and 1 output DGN file , and I need to execute the process in a batch deploy , with a input directory and a output directory , but I don't know how can I do it if I have two inputs.With one input is easy , with a path reader sending any path input to a workspaceRunner , but with two diferent inputs ?? any idea ??.thanks for your help !!

Hi,As of late I've noticed that we've got a lot of sprawl with the names of our repositories. Does anybody have any best practices/recommendations on how their organization creates repositories/topics/notifications and assigns permissions?One thought I had was to create a repository per application and also per department/organizational group as needed. But I'm wondering if anybody else has any other ideas/thoughts on the matter. In addition, my thoughts really only apply to repositories and don't take into account permissions/topics/notifications.If it matters, my FME Server install only runs on my intranet. I don't need to expose it to the public.Thanks!-Jeff

This may be due to my inexperience but I have an FME script I have been modifying for a client, no new nodes added, and it throws up an error when the client tries to run it. The script runs with no issue on my own dev environment but when the client runs it using their environment it seems to fail. The error log message is rather confusing to me so I hoped someone here might be able to help point me in the right direction. I have around 1300 las (lidar) files. For these las files i have a few shp files with breaklines and polygons where i should remove the ground. (houses/lakes/rivers)I need to export contour lines for each las files using breaklines and also remove the ground inside those polygons.Each block should have a buffer around them to fix the problem on the edge.So i need to load each block with the buffer around it and generate contours after removing the ground and also to use the breaklines.But here is another problem. i need to drop the lines first and filter them out base on z difference of each vertexes and keep only the original line that fits the z difference.Now what i know to do so far (on a single block):i manage to filter the lines. is there a transformer to simply this? right now i compare each line start z and end z against each otheri know how to generate contours with breaklines.i know how to remove points inside polygons.i know to create a buffer around a tileWhat i don'

When working through determining the differences between line segments for two different Feature Classes, I'm hoping to omit the differences between line segments whose lengths are within a given tolerance values (e.g. listing those Features whose difference in length is within 5 meters as Not Changed). Is there a way to set a tolerance of 5 meters for assessing the difference between line segments from different feature classes?

Hi again , Another question please. If I have two diferent readers , one is a GDB file , and the other is a DGN file , how can I generate the batch deploy ??? Actually only let me add one source dataset , the DGN or the GDB but not the two at the same time. Thanks in advanced for your help !!

So I have two main sources:An sql script.And an excel sheet.I want to compare the attribute ADRNR from one source with the other ADRNR1. If its a match then it shouldn't do anything because i didn't hook a writer to that and if it doesn't then it fails and should give me the values that aren't duplicates. I tried doing this with a simple tester but it doesn't work unfortunately. Here is how my tester looks like:the Failed output should give me the values that aren't duplicates.I think its because fme tucks every source nicely under eachother so that it can't compare it with eachother. Is my assumption correct and how can I make this work? Do I need to combine the data from the sources first? I just want to do a comparison between the these attributes of different sources and filtering out the unique ones.The workspace looks like this. Thanks in advance.

Hello All,I have excel spreadsheet that contains attributes like Trackcomment O: from 105 to 160 O: from U to S on 117 O: from U to S on 135 O: from S to U on 144 P: from 101 to 111OT O: from U to S on 146BDI want to create two new attributes (Columns) that contain middle part of the string (105 or U to S or S to U) and end of a string (160 or 111OT or 146BD) in two different excel columns (Attributes). I am facing two challenges. I used stringsearcher that extracts the last number of trackcomments but missing if there is any alpha character and the second stringsearcher just extracts if it is U to S or S to U but it is missing if the middle part has a number. Please see the attached screenshot. I would appreciate the help.GGoraya

Any help on the problem below would be greatly appreciated:I have two MapInfo layers, one is points and one is polygons.Multiple point features may exist within one polygon.I have data in a column in the points layer that I want to copy into the a column in the polygon layer. As there maybe multiple points within a polygon I want to concatenate the data from the multiple point features that are within that polygon into one column in the polygon layer, thus losing no tabular data from points to polygon.Thanks in advance.

I've created a simple workspace that streams tweets, does a point in polygon and and writes results to a CSV file. Now the Tweetstreamer is a perpetual streamer - i.e. it requires manual intervention to stop. The problem is that the CSV writer appears to flush all the writes only after correct completion of the workspace. If the user manual stops the workflow (as required by the Tweetstreamer) the CSV writes are not flushed and data is lost. Is there any way to automatically flush the CSV writing after each record (or another workaround?)

I've got 2 scripts - master scripts runs via WorkspaceRunner slave one. Into slave workspaceI've placed specified Python code as shutdown script to print on console some summaries. When run master script via command line - there are no prints from slave script.

What is the syntax for same and common attribute name for two datasets (parent and child tables) in Tester? If i give same field name for both Left and same values, iam getting merged all data. But i need only matched records. $(SourceDataset_CSV).@Value(#EMPNo)?? How can i access the same attribute name when we have many datasets?

Hi,Does anyone know how you can quickly update a reader? I have three models of which the reader is always the writer of the previous model. In one model stabbing seems a logical solution, but it can not because I need to check those results first. However, FME does not adjust the reader, only when I load them back again. Does somebody has a solution?

Hi all,I have a controler workspace that triggers 2 job on server via jobsubmitters, one of the jobs fails and this triggers a notifier in the controler workspace to send an email, the output port of the notifier succes is connected to a terminator so that when an email is sent the controler fails too.This is all well and as planned and works just fine on desktop, the translation status of the controler on desktop is translation failed.Now I have uploaded all workspaces involved and when I am running the controler workspace the translation status is success ???.I have been staring at this issue for some time and tried removing the controler workspace and republishing it but no joy, does anybody have any idea?Much appreciated, Itay
