Simple polygon Spatial Join which can add Mode of numaric field

In FME there are more then one possibility of Spatial joins for the polygons and I have tried all.I have two polygon shape files, one is source and other is target.From source file (which includes some numeric fields) I want join data to target polygon where both polygon layers intersect. For text field this is not a problem but what I am looking for is a Spatial Join which can also add Mode of numeric field to the target layer.

How to pass comma separated values in work space runner

Hi @NatalieAtSafe,I am using FME(R) 2016.0.1.0 (20160130 - Build 16174 - WIN64) desktop. In child workspace, i have changed the publish parameter type to 'Text (Multiline)'. In parent workspace, when i am passing two numbers comma separated in workspace runner, Comma automatically gets replaced by '<comma>'. Eg. I am passing '123,345' but it is passing '123<comma>345' to child transformer.

Populate WHERE clause with value from another table

Hello,I'm working on a workspace that will update a AGOL Feature Service. I need to pull from two different data sources, normalize the attributes and do some additional processing in the middle then write updates to the master. Both source data sets are fairly large so I am trying to not have to read each of them in their entirety every time the workspace runs. Rather I would like to leverage a "Modified On" field in the source data to only read in features that have been modified since the last time my workspace ran. I plan to push the workspace I'm building to FME Server and then sschedule it to run nightly. Currently I use the "time stamper" transformer to park the current data/time when the workspace runs in a .csv file. My thought is that I could then read in that timestamp and use it in my WHERE Clause. That's the thought however, I cannot seem to find a way to leverage that timestamp in my workspace parameters. Does anyone have some experience tr

Hi there. I have 8000 polygons of varying areas and shapes. I want to divide these into equal area polygons.

I have 8000 polygons of varying areas and shapes. I want to divide these into equal area polygons.I am looking for a similar functionality to the land parcel editor in ArcGIS. My shapes look something like this. I have already considered the options where we intersect the shapes with a fishnet. This doesn't suit my purpose as I end up small clippings on the edges. Also the number of newly created polygons will depend on the size of the original polygon. What I am hoping to achieve with the expert advice from FME gurus here is to divide each of the polygon into 4 parts having equal areas. Thanks in advance.

Removing all intermediate vertices from polylines

Hi,I have searched everywhere but can't seem to find a solution to a this simple task.I want to remove all intermediate vertices from my polylines, result should be polylines consisting of just the original start and ending points.Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Finding all shapefiles nested in one directory

Hello, I have a bit of a problem that I can't find a solution to. I have a list of directories and sub directories. Some contain shapefiles. Some contain tables, gdbs etc. Eg: S:\\NEW\\170530\\test.shpS:\\NEW\\170529\\NewData\\NewTest.shpS:\\OLD\\170428\\test.xlsxS:\\OLD\\170428\\MoreData\\MoreTest.shpThere are more folders within those dated directories. The root drive is always the same "S:\\"The root data directories (eg, OLD, NEW) will be provided by users as a user parameter. There won't be any navigating to those specific directories. How can I have a workbench that reads all the shapefiles nested in all those different directories, once the root data directory has been passed to it? Everything from the PATH reader up to the FeatureReader only specifies up to the dated directory based on user input. Eg:S:\\NEW\\170530I saved the directory path and passing the following to the FeatureReader: S:\\NEW\\170530\\**Now it works.. but with a couple of drawbacks. For on

My workspace cannot write to File Geodatabase due to Geodatabase Error (-2147024894)

I have set up my Geodatabase Writer but can’t write to it. The log file gives me this message: “Geodatabase Error (-2147024894): The system cannot find the file specified.” even though I’m creating a new file geodatabase within my workflow.

sort lines after clipping

I have a route and clip it against areas....but i need the result in order of the flow direction of the route.....which parameter sorts me that because now the result is in no order and when i put a count on it it is no logical order.So please help me... i think its no t abig problem for u guysThx Franco

FME crashes without error but runs if tasks are done separately

Hi,I have a simple workspace. I read a file (interlis2) and have 4 parallel transformers attached (GeometryReplacers, followed by GeometryFilter and AttributeRenamer).When I run the workspace it crashes at exactly the same data row in my input file without any further error message except "fme has stopped working". Nothing in log file either.If I disable two of the four parallel transformers and run the workspace and afterwards disable them and enable the two remaing ones all data is read and written (Autodesk sdf3).Memory is no issue - FME just uses 500 MB, there is plenty left.Any ideas why that happens? I would like to run the workspace in one go.Thank you, Rob

FME Data Interoperability does not show in the extension list after installed by an administrator

My desktop administrator has installed the FME on the PC with Esri ArcGIS desktop. I'm not the administrator of the PC. After FME desktop installed, the FME Data Interoperability is listed in the Esri ArcGIS desktop extension for the administrator. When I login, my ArcGIS extension list doesn't include the FME data Interoperability. I'm not the administrator on the PC. Thus I don't have right to install any software. How can I use the FME Data Interoperability installed by the administrator in the ArcGIS desktop? Thanks in advance.Helen

Direction using Python

Hello Team,I want to extract a direction of driving between address points using the API from gogglemaps. First i have the Origin Point and i need to find the next address ( point b for example ) from xls file. After from the point B find the next address ( point C ) and repeat this process 10 times. I believe the best way to do this is a loop in python. Attached my template file.Thanks in Advance,Danilo

Why is ArcCatalog checking out an FME License?

KMLTourBuilder orbit over point

@DeanAtSafeI saw your article on using KMLTourBuilder linked below. It is very helpful however I'm getting stuck creating my tour. I would like my tour to orbit over a single point. I have created a buffer around my subject point and set my tour to follow the buffer circle. This seems to work but I need to adjust my heading as I work my way around the circle. Save number of input files into an attribute

I would like to count the number of input files and return this number to be able to use it in an arithmetic calculations afterwards.To be more precise, I have X Excel files, each containing values that are regularly repeated, but each with a different frequency. I calculated how many times each value occurred in all the files (so I have 2 attributes: value and count), and now I would like to divide each count by X (number of files) to get the frequency as a 3rd attribute.I tried using Aggregator, Statistics Calculator and Counter to get the number of input files, but I get 'missing' or 'null' values when I try to save it as an attribute. How can I 'save' or return this number?

Custom notification scheduled workspace

Hi All,  I'm starting to use FME server and notification service. I managed to publish a workspace notifying some information by email when it's completed (with a TextFile writter...). It works when I manually run the workspace from the FME server.  Now I would like to send the same notification when the workspace complete, but on a scheduled way. It seems to ignore notification information specified when publishing the workspace. And in the schedule parameters page you can define what Topic it should post to but not what data to post (and so you cannot specify that you want to post the output of the TextFile writter), it posts the standard information (job id, time infos, etc.).  Is there a way to solve this problem ? Maybe I missed something... Thank you!

Dynamic Parameters for MySQL database reader

I'm looking for a solution to make my workspace a lot more dynamic for my use. I'm working on a easy to set up workbench where MariaDB (MySQL-compatible) Spatial reader and writer are connected with an AttributeManager in between. I would like to add my fmw to the server with some parameters that can set the Table list as prompt input data. The SourceDataset_MYSQL is already a prompted parameter but i cannot find a way to set the Table list/table name as a parameter. Is there anyway to publish parameters in more than a single language?

Hi,We are building a data extraction tool based on FME Server. This application build a form dynamically based on the published parameters. It needs to work in french and in english. Since i18n isn't possible on parameters descriptions and alias, we need to rely on a custom format that we put in the descriptions. The application has an additionnal step of parsing the descriptions to get the french or the english names/descriptions depending on the current language of the user.Is there any plan to support i18n on parameter names and descriptions?Is there a different way to manage that then the one we use?Thanks!

Adobe Geospatial PDF writer cann't output some text

Hi,  I cann't use the Adobe Geospatial PDF writer to output Chinese or Japanese text.  I have tried modify my font file's name and it's name show in FME's font window to non-Chinese; also flow the help's instruction to modify the fme_text_string to rich format, like "你好", and set the parameter of Writer "Text in Rich Text Format" to yes. But both failed.  If you can output some special non-English characters to PDF?  Thanks

Doens't show the values in python

Hi users,I have a script that create a route between two points ( start and end ) using library googlemaps.The return is going well to attribute in format JSON.The idea is extract the route information in 'html_instructions'. In PyCharm is work when i execute it:I configured my Workspace and execute ( attached template file), but it brings only the last route between two points.How can i get inside my Workspace all route and turn a attribute? Tester plus NeightborFinder

I'm pretty new to FME so I may be missing something obvious, but here goes: I have two AutoCAD layers, a text layer and a line layer. I need to find which text entities have the same rotation as the line entities. Then I need to take these line & text entities that share the same rotation and find which among them are within X units of each other. I've found the rotation of the lines using the custom transformer AzimuthCalculator, but when I feed both the text and lines into a single tester to see if their rotations are equal, the tester passes nothing, even when the rotations are equal (as verified with the inspector). The text rotation is a 64 bit real and the line rotation is encoded as utf-8, but from what I gather that shouldn't matter. Why is the tester not passing anything? My plan if the tester would work as desired is to then GeometryFilter the passing tester results into line & text and feed them into a NeighborFinder.
