Dear FMEers,We are using the API to submit transformations and get jobs with the result when completed. This works fine but the numFeaturesOutput is always 0 even when features are written. Must be something simple but I can't find how to get this to work.Using FeatureWriters in 2016.1.And how can we put text in the Description Parameter?

Hi All,I have a DBF table/geodatabase table wherein for each feature there is 7 entry. there are two ID fields one is the feature ID and There is another field where some ID's are given called IN_GRP these are given by source provider. I want to create files from this which has 60 feature each with same IN_Grp and with all the 7 entries of that feature.

I have been running my workspace (which unfortunately I cannot easily share) that uses a number of PythonCallers which each writes to the log file via the FMEObjects calls. What I have found is that when running the workspace from the GUI all the log messages are written to the log file. But when running the workspace from the command line I have found that some installations of FME will log all the details while others will not. Is there some configuration file or command line option that would force FME to record all log messages to the log file?

Hello,I would like to fanout CityGML-files depending on an attribute. As far as I know, I can use the dataset fanout. On CityGML-data it creates a subfolder and a CityGML-file in it, which have both the same name. The featuretype-fanout won't work (I guess), because I have to define roofsurfaces, wallsurfaces etc. there. So is there a way to fanout CityGML without subfolders having all files in one outputfolder at the end?

Hello,In FME Server 2015 when I run any workspace by clicking on "Run Workspace" I get an error 500 and on the screen I see "Unknown result. No log file generated". HiI want to write a 3D layer to DXF. The layer is extruded buildings from a 2D building layer, using an Extruder. When I write the output to DXF, it appears as a 3D object, but with triangles - screenshot attached.Looking at the fme attributes, fme_type is fme_surface rather than solid, and fme_type is fme_aggregate. My understanding from reading some other posts is that I need the features to be solids not surfaces. Using the Geometry Coercer has no impact, it does not change it to a solid. And according to the help for the GeoemtryCoercer this is likely correct ("If you try to set the feature's geometry to fme_brep_solid and the geometry of the feature is not a composite surface or multi-surface or extrusion or box or csg solid, then the feature's geometry will be unchanged.").Any ideas on how I set the feature to a solid? or what I need to set any autocad settings to - another post mentioned setting autocad_solid3d, but didn't give a value to set it to.Thanks f

I have seen that the version of AutoCAD a dwg file was saved in can be found as per this link, however I'm after ideas for a good, quick way to validate this - e.g. version must be 2007 or newer. I am using the RealDWG reader, and the workspace will have to work on FME Server.I have tried exposing the autocad_version format attribute, but in the file I am testing no value comes through for this. I do note that FME was able to do a version check when reading as shown in the log, in which case this file was found to be AutoCAD 2007.I have thought to perhaps save the file to a temp location, read it back in with a text reader and find the version through that but I'm hopeful of a slightly tidier solution within the workspace.Also been asked to validate dimension type, but again autocad_dimension_type is missing. Perhaps it's just my source data letting me down!

Hi! I'm trying to create a raster based on high density point features (bathymetry data) from ArcSDE. The thing is that I want to control which features enters the NumericRasterrizer/RasterDEMGenerator (or some other suitable transformer) and gets assigned a cell value. The problem is that the point data is much denser than what I want the resolution of the raster to be. In this case I want FME to pick the point feature with the minimum z-value of all the in-going point features and assign it to the cell and ignore the others. Much like you have in ArcMap where you can can choose the "Cell assignment type" in the "Point to Raster" tool. Is there a way in FME to solve this?Thanks!

I have a dataset containing different points. To insert them into my postGIS database I need to convert each point into multipoint (but each multipoint is only containing one point)I may not change the geometry-type in postGIS, so I just need to store each point as a multipoint...I already did some tests with the aggregator and geometrycoercer, but can't figure out how to change the geometry from point into multipoint. maybe a bit of a silly question, but I just can't figure out how to do this :(thanks for helping me!

 Hi, I've got a dwg file with 3D points (layer name : points_3D) and with polyline (layer name : 92040). I want to transform the polyline to polyline 3D by using the points files. How could I realize this operation with FME?

I am a newbie to FME. I need to create nodes from a road network shapefile. Initially in ESRI, I created a network dataset and subsequently nodes. The resulting dataset had pseudo-nodes and dangle nodes along edges and at ends of segments. This wasn’t what I wanted. How do you distinguish between intersection and overpasses? How can I use FME to generate nodes only at intersections? I will appreciate it if you can send me a workflow.

HelloDoes anybody know of a way of setting up a multiple choice user parameter to select which source data is read. I need to have two choices where one or both options can be selected. Depending on which option is selected determines which reader is used. The user is also asked to select the location of the source data for both datasets, but a default location is also stored.Hope the above makes sense.Thanks

Is it possible to copy/paste conditional statements in AttributeManager? I have three attributes that I want to calculate values for in AttributeManager. All three are based on the same conditional statement. Is it possible to set up the conditional statement for one attribute and then copy/paste it into the other attributes (under Attribute Value)? The conditional statement has six conditions (A or B or C or D or E or F) and I might change it later so it would be easier and reduce mistakes to be able to copy/paste rather than recreate/change it three times.

Hi,I am using the networl flow orientor to check the direction of digitisation agains a given flow direction.This is a snippet of the script, i have also attached it, together with the 3 lines and the one destination point (fme 2017):I expected all three lines to have the same _direction value "same". However, the one with GISID 3128shows up with the value "opposite". But if one Looks at the coordinate order they all goes towards the destination point. I do not understand the behaviour!

Hi FME'ers,I am currently trying to write OS Mastermap (gml) to an Esri Geodatabase (File Geodb ArcObjects). I get so far before it through's up the error "ArcObjects Error -2147467259 Whitespace is not allowed at this location.The problem is the log file doesn't tell me where the offending whitespace is...So I look through the erroneous record to try find it but I can't see (by eye) what the problem is. Is this an ESRI issue or an FME issue? Thanks,David McDermott 

Hello,I am using FME Server 2016.1 and I need to reference a folder named "farms:. I have added that into the config file and it appears in my resources list, no problem. However, the issue I am having is that I cannot run any workspace when I select the file for processing. If the files are put in other resources like data/myfiles, there is no issue. Wherever I first open up FME and navigate to the Database Connections or Web Connections in the FME Options it seems like FME takes ages to load these up (almost a minute!). This is present in both FME 2016 and FME 2017. I Also notice that FME 2017 is slow to start for the first time, could this be related? Furthermore when I add an HTTPCaller to my workspace this takes a while too.
