Recommendations for setting up a fault tolerant file system for FME Server?

When setting up FME Server and configuring for Fault Tolerance, it's recommended that a fault tolerant file system is set up for storing the FME Server system share folders. For anyone who has set this up before, do you have any recommendations for how to create/set up the fault tolerant file system?

Snipper does not work properly

I want to snip the first and the last meter of a line (which is 10 meters). I therefore take a Snipper, set at "Distance (Value)" with Starting Location = 1 and Ending Location = -1. The Snipper only cuts off the first meter as a remnant, but leaves the last meter untouched. Am I doing something wrong here, or is the Snipper not working as it should?PS: FME 2016.1

Hi all,I seem not able to rotate text objects written to a png file.They are rotated, rotationfield has correct value when arriving at the writer.Even using gif_text_rotation or fme_rotation...nothing seems to make the png have the text rotated .Anyone know this issue and maybe what I'm missing here? (please answer in relation to png writer if possible...;))

Exposing known XML/JSON Attributes

I have a known structure of an XML file/feed and am using an xfmap file to map attributes. The XML feed doesn't always have all of the fields in their feed. Is there a way to populate a reader attributes from an xfmap file?

Cannot write a non-area feature to an area feature class

I am using an AutoDesk Revit Reader to transfer an RVZ file to a Feature Class in an ESRI GEoDatabase (ArcObjects). When using the 2DForcer to transform the 3D RVZ data to 2D data the translation fails and there error I get is 'Cannot write a non-area feature to an area feature class.' I am using a Geometry Filter which has the solid and area options checked, followed by a GeometryValidator with all options checked. and the output feature class type is set to polygon.

How to set Bylayer color in a GIS to CAD transformation

Hi,I'm doing a transformation from a gdb to a CAD that was already setup (with block name, color ect, for each layers). I'm working with the DWGStyler and its working fine. The only problem that I find is that I'm not able to put each color "By Layer". It's possible in the Linetype checkbox to select ByLayer, ByBlock or others lines types but not in Blocks... It is possible to set up the color ByLayer in that type of transformation? Or I have to specific the color for each layers?Thanks!

perform the same transformation for all attribute value outputs

Hi, I have dataflow where I filter my data by an attribute. This results in 100+ output ports. After that I will perform the exact same transformation for every output port and write the data in a separate file. (Yes, I do need to filter first.) Of course, I can create a custom transformer for my transformation that follows (see screenshot) but I'm wondering if there's a way so I don't need to add the transformer and a writer to my workspace 100 times?Any suggestions?I'm using fme desktop 2016

How to pass logged username to child processes FME Server?

Hi,In my FME Server, I published a "master" workspace with an admin user called psl. This master process basically invokes another FME workspaces through a FMEJobsubmitter.When I run this process on the FME Server, the username is logged correctly only for the master process, but for the child process the username that is logged is psl.How can I do that it logs the correct user for the child processes too?

How to know time spent of transformers in FME Server?

Hi,In FME Desktop I can add a Header to know the time spent on each transformers.FME_PROFILE_RESULT_CSV "filepath".How can I do this on a FME Server?

exporting sql server non-spatial table info as xml file?

To get an xml file automatically we are currently storing all attribute table of sql server DB into a enterprise GDB in sql server, which is creating a trouble that everytime it is taking the primary key field as OBJECTID and changing the name of the field. So we want now to have the attribute table as it is in a non-spatial database, and want to read it's table name, field names and datatype into an xml file. But I cannot read the field names and data type as a list thus I can use it inside our own schema. Can anyone please guide me.?

I have a Geotiff file where the colour (a real number) represents the elevation. I wish to generate contours form this data and can not see how to get the data into the contour generator in an appropriate way. What other transformers do I need and how do i use them?

TweetSearcher Authentication Issue

I am using TweetSearcher on FME Desktop 2016 to find tweets with a keyword and within a bounding box. I used my Twitter login details and it was working absolutely fine earlier.However, since a few days, I am not able to use the same workbench and it returns an errorReceived HTTP response header: 'HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden' from 'https://api.twitter.com/oauth/access_token'Could you suggest how can this issue be resolved. I can not find parameters in TweetSearcher to provide any access token. Thanks in advance!

How can I use FME Data Inspector to view point cloud classifications?

I'm new to FME, and have been asked to look into quality control of land cover classification for processed point clouds. Currently, I'm hoping to use the Data Inspector to review the classification of land cover in las files, yet I can't figure out how to symbolize the point cloud by classification attribute. I haven't been able to find any documentation on this, could anyone help?

How do I set the import path in FME's Python interpreter?

I have a module . in a folder (called '/wscloud/email_automation/wsa/lib')I can import it if I append the path explicitly, but this seems like a very clumsy way to do this. How can upgrade the license of 2015 FME Server to FME server 2016. In FME server 2016 there is no licensing assistant to use the license from floating server.

Add value to create new (compounded?) value

Unsure if compounded is the right term but anyway....I am trying to calculate a new attribute based on existing values - usually easy to do - but in this case the expression must reference each subsequent attribute value in an original attribute. Best explained by the graphic below:'StaticValue' is the original value and 'CompoundedValue' is the attribute I want to create. The first value will be unchanged but each subsequent value in the 'CompoundedValue' attribute must reflect the corresponding 'StaticValue' value.StaticValueCompoundedValue30030020320-50270-4023016039035425Can I do a 'circular' reference like this in FME?

How to trim the first x characters of an attribute

Hi there,the sample attribute looks like: "xxx www.mypage.com\\\\localserver.com"Between the "xxx" (the number is variable) an the URL is a blank. So I need to find the index of the first blank and trim the attribute (string) from left to that index.In addition I need to remove every character including an beyond "\\\\". Any hints? Getting temporary folder of Data Download Service

Hi all,Workspace A is uploaded to FME Server as a Data Download and Job Submitter Service. Several files are written in the workspace (excel, sdf, json, txt) and -logically- they appear in the output .zip package of the data download service. Problem: A FileCopy writer is used to copy a .dwg file to the output folder. Because the files for the .zip package of the download service are stored an a temporary folder on FME Server, it is not yet possible to have to .dwg also in the download package. The Job Submitter does its job and all my files are written correctly (including the .dwg file). The data download .zip-package does not have this .dwg file and that is my problem. I just need the URL or the location of where the files for the download package are temporarily stored on FME Server, so I could use this URL as a parameter for the output location in the FileCopy Writer.The documentation online told me this should be the 'FME_SERVER_DEST_DIR' parameter? But when I use this

FME Server Number of Engines does not display

We are running FME Server (2015.1.0.2 - Build 15482 - win32). Engines and licenses seem to work properly, jobs can be started and are processed by FME Server. Since we want to downsize the number of engines used, we try to follow procedure as described under "FME Server Web User Interface > Using the Interface > Configuring the Number of FME Engines to Start" which states: "Change the Engine Count field to the desired number of engines, and click Change Number of Engines"However, when we log in using an account that has superuser privilege, the list of Available Engines is there and shows 2 engines, but there is no "Engine Count" field nor "Change Number of Engines" button. Any ideas how to fix this?

Constrain Voronoi polygons to another layer

Hi all,I am currently creating Voronoi polygons (using the VoronoiDiagrammer) and I can use the Clipper to cut the polygons created using polygons from another layer (Layer B). Is there a way to constrain the created Voronoi polygons to this other polygon layer before clipping? i.e. All information in the points used to create the Voronoi polygons, should stay within the bounds of the polygons of Layer B which they are contained in. Many thanks. Edit: Please see diagram added below as a sample. I would like the create Voronoi polygons from the purple points only to the edge of the green polygons. UPDATE: SpatialFilter to remove polygons with no points within them. Clone & Offsetter (x2) to ensure there are at least 3 points in every polygon. PoinOnAreaOverlayer to insert foreign key to the points from the PK of the polygons.VoronoiDiagrammer with Group By parameter set to the foreign key field. Dissolver to remove the small triangles. Clipper to clip back to to original polygons. W

Shapefile to dwg becoming a block and losing attribute data

Folks, I know I am missing something simple here. What I am trying to do is convert polygons from a shapefile to a dwg while conserving the attribution. The shapefiles are polygons and may or may not have multiparts and donut geometries. As such it seems a mpolygon is the best fit as an AutoCAD datatype.Something similar has been asked Here: Shape to AutoCAD with attributes by @lmerino but no answer I can get to work.I have the cad writer set to extend entity dataHowever when I look at the output in CAD the polygons are coming through as blocks. @Mark2AtSafe suggested using a Deaggregator transformer but I am not sure how this will help. I have done as @erik_jan suggested and added autocad_entity set to autocad_mpolygon via a AttributeManager and everything in the target drawing will then end up as a mpolygon as desired. However there is no attribution.Sample data: Edit: Seems that using a different writer such as Autodesk AutoCAD Map 3D Object Data ends up with the desired outpu

Is there a way to trick (or configure) the AffineWarper into non blocking?

It seems to me that once the Control vectors are sent to the AffineWarper that a single Affine transform could be calculated and applied to all Observed Features as they come through.

Hi,I have table with over 7000 records, and I only want to pass the top 10 or so for testing purposes. I know that you can specify the number of records passed in the initial Reader, but is there a transformer that allows you to do this part-way through your FME workflow?Thanks
