Hello!  I like to read line geometry from a PostGIS DB and save it to an ESRI File GDB. When I check the translation via Inspector everything looks ok but when I save it to the file GDB the geometry suddenly looks very generalized. The same translation to shapefile works just fine. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Thank you for your help.

I have my parameter values in a SQLite table. I am able to access each value though a Python scripted parameter that opens the table and retrieves the value. However, this means that I have to open and close the SQL table one time for each parameter. Is there a way to make multiple parameters that can be read by the readers and transformers, perhaps in the Python startup script?

I am wondering if anyone have any suggestions to use FME to process live data streams that are funneled into various text files, server log files being one of the examples. Thanks!

I have two Netapp share locations mounted to an instance of FME Server on Linux. These locations are setup as FME Server Resources. Jobs can successfully write out to one of them but not the other. All permissions are EXACTLY the same on both Netapp shares. I am at a loss as to what could be going on here.

Hi,I would like to identify overlaps but only from a single source of data. That data has 1500+ records of unique Region Name. However, I found an instance where a part of a region is overlapping another adjacent region. I would like to identify how many instances I have in my database identifying at least 1 region name and creating an area of the overlapped.as shown below, green area has a portion of the adjacent boundary.any help is appreciated. thanksLex

Hi,Is it possible to call the s3Uploader transformer using a python shutdown script? My workflow currently uses a python shutdown script to convert the FME output data into a number of proprietary formats and now I would like to upload these proprietary files to AWS S3. I would preferred to do it all using a single work bench without install extra python modules(ie Boto3) Thanks

Hello,  I'm attempting to geotag photos with FME Desktop by writing coordinates to the jpgs with an AttributeCreator.  The following headers have been attempted with no luck: jpeg_exif_gpslatitude jpeg_exif_gpslatitude jpeg_exif_gpsmapdatum etc... which is how the data appears in the data inspector with a properly geotagged photo. The tag names from http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/TagNames/GPS.html were also attempted with no luck.  The proper data types were also considered.  Any idea of how to write gps EXIF data to jpg?  I know its possible with the exiftool and other third party apps but I'd like to keep it all within one workbench, without calling any other applications.  Thanks,  John 

Hi,  I have this workspace to add a geotag to a jpeg, based on a GARMIN glo GPS logger. I merge the GPS data with the jpeg by the date. When I take a look at the inspector merging seems to go well. But there is no exif information in the created jpeg (no original exif info and no latitude, longitude and altitude info). Anyone can help? I am new to FME.  Best, J. 

Hello everyone,I am trying to utilize tiler for parallel processing in FME Server environment. Workbench that has tiler transformers and parallel processing enabled, runs fine in FME Desktop environment. However, if i try to run the same workbench via FME Server, it throws the following error:  Tiler_2_PointCloudTiler(PointCloudTilingFactory): The keyword TILE_ROW_ATTRIBUTE has incorrect arguments. The clause must look like: TILE_ROW_ATTRIBUTE <attribute name>, where <attribute name> is the name of a new attribute that will be added to output features  Any help with this issue would be much appreciated.  Thanks! Boris 

I have a strange issue where Dashboard seems to run (ran it manually) and within a couple of seconds, it is empty. Needless to say, no history is available, either....Cleanup is running things with a longevity of 1 week, so I assume that cannot be the issue....Anybody experienced this before ? This worked fine before in 2017.1.1

Hi,I'm trying to find a transformer that's able to create a new attribute, check my data for different conditions based on values from multiple different attributes, and subsequently add to the value of the newly created attribute WHILE these conditions hold true. Something like an "overall score attribute".I put while in caps because with the attribute creator there are only "if" statements. I'm not a programmer, but I know that with if statements, as soon as one holds true, the scripts stops. That is what seems to happen with the attribute creator transformer that I have been using. I could be mistaken of course. Like I said, I'm not a programmer.However, I don't want that. I want the program to keep checking all conditions and adding to the "score attribute". How do I do that?So basically something like this: if/while attribute1 >= 10, add 1 to new overall score attributeif/while attribute 1 < 10, add 2 to new overall score att

Hi @erik_jan, @ciarabIs there any option in DWGStyler Transformer to change the MPolygon fill color?, I've the ROUTE feature which is displaying the right color HTML: #c0c0c0 .I need the 'MPolygon with fill pattern' color to be displayed the same HTML: #c0c0c0, currently i'm selecting the 'Fill Pattern name' as solid and the output of it is displayed as shown in the attached snapshot (Outer boundary as color #c0c0c0 and inner polygon filled with black. Is there a way i could change the inner polygon color to the same as outer boundary color-#c0c0c0. Any help would be appreciated.Regards, Anil.

I have a database of hundreds of assessment results for utilities. In FME, I have taken the utility coordinates from the database, joined into lines, sorted into 'pass' or 'fail' and organised by utility owner. This all works. I have done a microstation DGN writer for each e.g. electric 'pass', electric 'fail', gas 'pass' etc etc. I have also tried putting all outputs into one DGN writer. Neither gave me what I needed which is to have individual layers for each result and utility type, which can be switched on and off. I can't do a fanout (I dont think) because I need to fanout by an attribute and I dont have the results as attributes, but rather as sorted/styled data. Would I need to use an AttributeCreator, or is there a way in the DGN writer to get multiple layers in the DGN based on my sorted data? Thanks.

Hello,  I am trying to do a rasterization of one DWG. After I run MapnikRasterizer, I get good results for most of the parameters but TEXT is problematic. In AutoCAD my text looks like this:But when I get a result text looks like this:I have tried setting almost all options in MapnikRasterizer. I have turned on in writers attributes "autocad_text_rotation" and tried to enable it in Mapnik, but I get an error. Does anybody have an idea how to preserve text same as in CAD?   Thank You in advance!

I'm testing my current workspaces in FME 2018 Beta and i'm getting a new warning from an Excel Writer. WARN |Excel Writer: Attribute xlsx_row_formatting is empty, no row formatting applied  It doesn't seem like this warning is anything to be concerned about but i'd like to make any changes possible to prevent it from showing up as many times as it does while running. I can't seem to locate the much documentation on the xlsx_row_formatting attribute, so i'm wondering, is there any way to populate it to prevent the warning? Thanks! 

Hi,I have a new source with poor metadata. I would like to create a quick overview of the dataset by producing a matrix, where I have each attribute field and all unique values within that field listed. With aggregator or duplicate filter I can easily do one. But I have close to 100 fields, so there must be a more clever way...Thanks for any suggestions!

I am Testing for matches json.ID against SDE db sde.ID. The problem is no matches yet there are 26 matches in the test case. I think I have a data typing error. The sde.ID is VARCHAR2 (30 Byte) and I assume the json.ID is data source json. ANyway to covert to get a matchup??

Hi,I have an FME Workbench that is writing to a dynamic schema.I have set the fme_feature_type and fme_feature_type_name explicitly using an AttributeCreator, but I keep getting this error when trying to write to an Excel spreadsheet:XLSX Writer: No DEF line could be found for feature type Does anyone have any ideas as to what this error means and how to solve it?I also get the following warning prior to the error, if this helps:Cannot define schema for 'RP_100CC' as the feature does not contain schema information, and schema source is set to 'Schema from Schema Feature'. Please verify writer feature type configuration. I am using FME Desktop 2017.1 64 Bit.Thanks
