Hello, Is there a way to check if a feature class exists in a file geodatabase . If not , throw an error . Is this possible ?

Trying to create features from JSON (following JSONFragmenter)

Will the ChartGenerator be fixed to allow Correct display of DATES on the X Axis?

Could really use this function extensively, but almost all our data is Date variable - eg Groundwater and chemistry. Is there any news about fixing this bug? Eg FME 2018.Gecko On. Gecko Up.

NeighborFinder Multiple candidate feature types

Hi FME'ersI am pulling together a dataset containing the nearest three of each POI to an address from a list of addresses. E.g nearest three schools, nearest three recycle centres etc.I have used the NeighborFinder with the address feature type (Base) and the Schools feature type (Candidate). All works well but as I said, I need to find the nearest three of different feature types. Is there a way of passing multiple feature types into the candidate port of a single NeighborFinder or do I have to use a new NeighborFinder for each POI feature types? Thanks,David

Possible TestFilter bug

Hi,I am using FME2016 1.0.1 Desktop, and have encountered, on random occasions, a strange occurrence with the TestFilter transformer.I can't replicate it as it only happens randomly, but sometimes, after I have added a couple of tests into the TestFilter, a yellow right-pointing triangle appears on the top section of the transformer as well as coming out of the TestFilter streams. Whenever this happens, the workbench fails when I try to run it. I then have to delete the TestFilter and recreate it. Usually the second time it is recreated with just with the yellow triangles coming out of the different streams, as expected.Is this a bug? Has anyone else experienced this?Thanks

Is there a way to Group Readers if the readers have been added individually?

Folks,Pardon my nomenclature, I suspect that's part of my problem.I've been adding Mapinfo Readers as I've needed certain tables to be converted to CAD. That's left me with a list of 10 separate readers in the navigator.Previously when I did something similar for MI > GML I just added ALL THE TABLES in a single Reader as a group.Changing data sets is snap you just open the new set.With the individually added one-reader-per-table I need to go into each Reader and open the corresponding table.Is there a way to "group" these readers so I can open the referenced tab files as a set?

WHERE Clause and SELECT Statement for reader plugin; feature type - Parameters tab

Hello,I have our own FME plugin which works fine on FME 2016 and 2017.On FME 2017 I see "Where Clause" and "Select statement" added to Parameters tab of Feature type dialog (dbl click on Reader). See the pict below:Question: do you know what changes / additions shall I make to my plugin .fmf file (or any other file(s)) to enable these "Where Clause" and "Select statement" settings for my custom plugin as well?I checked "oracle_spatial.fmf" but do not see what exactly code causes Oracle Spatial plugin to enable these two settings.Thanks!

Using the UpdateDetector with ArcGIS Online Feature Service

Hi There, I am using the UpdateDetector to update an ArcGIS Online feature service that is part of our open data catalogue. My workbench is fairly simple and just reads a dataset out of SDE runs it through some transformers to reproject it and then rename/drop some fields. It writes this dataset to a staging file geodatabase as an archive. Using this archive as the 'Original' input in the UpdateDetector and the features from SDE as the 'Revised', everything gets sent throught the 'Updated' port despite no changes occuring. I poked around with the parameters and found if I removed the geometry matching condition things got sent through the 'Unchanged' port as I would have expected. Would anyone be able to enlighten me as to why this is happening? Warren

Hi,I am trying to build a network using the OSM roads dataset. From this i would like to extract all roads within a set distance from a point. This should not be a simple as the crow flies buffer selection but by road distance on each road from the point.Thoughts?

Missing object data tables

When using the FME Quick Translator to convert CAD from Autodesk AutoCAD Map 3D Object Data to Esri Geodatabase (File Geodb ArcObjects) as raw relational static schema conversion, tables with "_od_table" are created. When using FME Workbench using the exact same settings, the "_od_table" are not created. How can I replicate the production of these tables using FME Workbench?

Response Paging alternative for WFS 1.0.0, 1.1.0 -service

Hi,I'm trying get a workbench to load 1000000+ features from a WFS version 1.1.0 with a download restriction of 10.000 features. Currently version 2.0.0 is not supported by this service.I would like to know if it's possible to download those features in a similar way 'pagination' does for version 2.0.0. I understand this is not suppported in version 1.1.0. I have tried to set parameters 'Max Features', 'Start Index' and 'Count' within my WFS reader with no luck. Same features are downloaded every single time.Is there an alternative way to achieve this ?**EditWhat am now trying to do is to achieve this with HttpCaller + a custom 'Loop' transformer.However I'm stuck trying to configure this looper...

Extruding building heights from 3D terrain model creates sloped buildings

I have asked this on GIS SE but seem to have had little interest. I imagine it would be more suitable to post here.How can i prevent sloped buildings when I extrude building footprints over sloped terrain? I am using FME to drape 2D features over terrain (SurfaceDraper), then using the Extruder transformer to create 3D buildings from OS Building Heights. Unfortunately the height value seems to apply itself to each vertex, which creates sloped building tops (roof geom is not relevant here) - example below: Is there an extrusion method that uses a single vertex, or is there another method entirely?

Calculate volume from TINSurface?

Hello, I have measured some points on some piles of dirt that I need to calculate the volumes of. I have got some points by the foot of the piles and some on top of them to define their geometries. Now is the question how to use this data to get the volumes? I have managed to get a TIN surface from the TIN Generator but I cannot calculate the volume unless it is a solid, right? Any ideas..?

Replicate in FME this Excel example

I have an example of something I can do in Excel but looking to do in FME. Please refer to the PDF attachment....The first image shows a snapshot of a fictional table of data. Each employee has a unique "EmployeeNumber" and also a unique "CardNumber". The field called "Event" shows a record of every instance over a week, where an employee has either "swiped in" their card to enter an office building, or has "swiped out" to leave. So for example, Hannah has used her card 5 times in the week to either enter (swipe in) or leave (swipe out) the office.The second image shows a pivot table in Excel, which sums the number of times an employee has either swiped in or swiped out. I have then added the field called "Difference" as I simply wish to compare the number of times an employee has swiped in compared to when they have swiped out. And I am especially interested where the difference is 1 or more.My query is this ; can FME replica

XML Newbie - field names and how to parse

Howdy y’all!XML newbie here and I have to build a workspace to parse a xml file. I’ve been messing around with the xml reader a bit this morning and cannot seem to get any results. One of the things I noticed immediately is that the field names seem to be only contained in the metadata. Deleteing an XML element completely if the value is NULL in XML Templater?

Hello everybody, i have mapped my sql server table to an xml schema and final output we are getting metadata of tables. To input related Foreignkey information inside metadata we have a field and we mapped it, problem is for many rows we dont have values, we have NULL. From current mapping values are coming and NULL values are creating empty elements in final xml file. Please see the screenshort. We want to delete the total bnr:foreignkey element for NULL values. Please correct my code if someone can help me. Thanks a lot. Looking forward.

Change detector attribute no matching problem

Hi everyone,I am using a ChangeDetector, only on one attribute "parcelle", to compare differences between polygon layers, but there is a problem because all of the polygons are detected as "changed" (then they should not, because values of "parcelle" attributes are the same in the two layers) :Port 1 (Added) :Port 2 (Deleted) :I thought that the problem was because of the encoding of these attributes. So I have tried to use the AttributeEncoder Transformer, but it changes nothing :I also have tried a FeatureMerger on these attributes and it works.Thank you.Aurélien

Line joining/tracing till getting elevation value

Hello,please, I wanna solve one problem with line elevation on wastewater network. I have really big network of lines in 2D, but every line has 2 attributes (BOTTOM_ELEVATION_FIRST - elevation of first line vertex and BOTTOM_ELEVATION_LAST - elevation of last line vertex). Unfortunately, values of these 2 attributes are not filled for all features. So, I have situation when some features have both values, some features have just one value and some features have none values. :-/ What I need is to join lines according to fact if the attribute of elevation is filled or not - the goal is getting lines which have filled both attribute values.Do you have any idea, how to figure out this issue, please?Thank You so much!Lubo

negative list index in AttributeCreator

Is it possible to use a negative list index in the AttributeCreator? If not possible, why not? Any technical reason or just not implemented? Should I create an Idea for it?Workaround is to use the ListIndexer, and AttributeRenamer but this is not really intuitive nor quick. Unlike most things in FME.

Failure of the XLSX writer when exporting

Hi,I'm trying to export my data to excel. My workbench was working fine and suddenly I can't even run it.I'm having the following error and I don't know what could be the issue.I restart my computer and I close all the excel files on my computer but the issue persists.XLSX Writer: Saving changes to dataset 'folder_name'XLSX Writer: Failed to save changes to the spreadsheet 'folder_name'. Check that you have write permission to the file, it has no password protection and is not opened by another application. Error message is 'Permission denied.'A fatal error has occurred. Check the logfile above for details... Last line repeated 2 times ...Note that folder_name is the localisation path where I want to export the data.Thanks

Group By and pick up maximum value rows

Expose Format Attributes such as fme_basename for multiple Feature Types in one go?

I've added 7 individual Feature Types to my Workspace and want to expose fme_basename and mapinfo_type for each of them. Is there a quick way of doing this that will save me from having to edit the properties of each Feature Type one by one?

Spatial query with SQLExecutor

I am trying to make a spatial query with SQLExecutor and having some issues. My filter is some point buffer features in a ESRI geodatabase and the feature points I want to filter are in an Oracle database. I am extracting the geometry and using SDO_RELATE as shown bellow.
