Hi!  I have a successful workflow going to convert excel files to geodatabase feature classes and I'm trying to create a similar workflow but with CSV input.   I have hundreds of files that will need to be converted but am testing with 8 for now. I set up everything in the same way as XLSX -> GDB but with my CSV workflow every single field in my GDB shows up as text, despite the fact that some (most) of them contain purely numerical data.   Is this normal for CSV formats? Is there a way to prevent all these text fields?  Thanks!

TIFF and TFW file validationThis is a bit of a cry for help as I’m still quite new to using FME. I am looking to create a FME workbench that can validate some specific parameters for TIFF and TFW files. It is a TIFF file TIFF file size – This should be equal to or greater than 46MB – Equal to or less than 47MB TIFF dimensions – they should be 4000 * 4000 pixels in size It has three colour bands It has an associated, valid TFW file I’ll roughly have to check 100 TIFF and 100 TFW files at a time. The TIFF and TFW files have the corresponding 1KM grid reference as their names, for example I have TQ7926.tif and TQ7926.tfw.What would be the best way to achieve this in FME? I’m happy to answer any questions to assist with the answering of my question.

I have written a custom reader and writer in C++, and have copied the .dll, .fmf, and .db files to <fme-home-dir>/plugins (and also to <fme-home-dir> as a second try); but neither the reader nor the writer lists show it as an option. We are a member of the developer partner program, and would appreciate a nudge in the correct direction. Thank you!

Hi all,I’m trying to extract 3D data from a 3DCityDB (PostgreSQL) and write them into a sketchup file.I have no problem handling the surfaces and writing them into the .skp file as buildings.But I have an issue with the textures. I manage to get the right images on the right surfaces but they are not in the right place. I get the texture coordinates in a field, and they are stored as below (u,v coordinates list) : But I don't know what to do with these coordinates... And how ta handle them with TextureCoordinateSetter... Any ideas ?The idea would be to create a custom reader for the 3DCityDB format and a workbench to extract data from the DB in sktechup, multipatch,… It’s already done without the textures, but it would be great (and usefull) to get the textures right. I tried a lot of formats to convert 3d tiles, but the result was not good.I mainly want to talk about some of the problems with the coordinate system during COLLADA's conversion of 3d tiles.There are two sources for my COLLADA files, the first one is exported from Blender software and the second one is exported using the openCOLLADA plugin for Autodesk 3dsmax software. In order to find a suitable coordinate system, I used a model with only one green sphere to do the test. I use the default parameter settings to read the COLLADA file and select unknown and EPSG: 4326 (wgs84) coordinate system.The coordinate system of 3d tiles file is same as source.When I load the exported 3d tiles into cesium, there are three results. 1?The model appears in the center of the earth.Cesium currently does not support placing models under the ground, so nothing can be seen. 2?The model disappears in a flash, and the camera catches the ocean. 3?There is the strange result, I do not know how to descr

The file formats for my model are COLLADA and OBJ.When I read the file with FME, I noticed that I could not pick a single entity on the model. The FME will automatically integrate the model into a whole, is it?In this case, my model exports files in other formats(as 3d tiles) via FME, and can I separately pick a single entity on the model?

We have numerous Statistics workspaces analysing Oracle data on a daily basis. After updating FME from Build 17259 to 17539 (also 17650), our Workspaces produced nothing anymore.The results of the statistics are written to Excel-sheets, so I began debugging the workspaces and found the statistics calculators producing only null-values.Even after creating new workspaces with simple example data (creator, randomnumbergenerator) statisticscalculator outputs null-values.

The TESTER transformer let pass only 32bit INTs when using 'type is' Integer as operand. I need to test if the value is 64bit Integer or smaller (but no double or float).I used also AttributeValidator with the same result. 

Hi,I'm trying to programmatically assign colours based on an attribute to 3D geometry features for visualisation in Data Inspector. However, I can't work out how to do this without splitting features using a filter and then branching to loads of different ApperanceSetter transformers and setting a separate colour in each of those.I discovered there is what looks to be a very helpful custom transformer called GradedColorizer which has a few algorithms for binning an attribute value then assigning a fme_fill_color property. However, setting that fill_color property doesn't actually seem to result in my model being shaded correctly in Data Inspector (ie. still appears as a wireframe, see image below).Any ideas why this might be? If I use ApperanceSetter it works fine, but I can't programmatically set the colours using that.

Hi all,I was unable to find an answer I needed so I thought I would post.I have been using the StringReplacer and am trying to learn the regex commands to no avail.I have a column with values that are mostly numeric, some alphabetical, some blank and some number with decimals. I would like to ensure that every number that does not have a decimal gets a decimal added to it.Example of value range:000625.224512566254662512566751256.335TLL003640.123CODDMy ask is how can I use the StringReplace (or any other transformer) to take the numeric values here. And insert a period in between the 6th and 7th characters. Leaving 6 before the decimal and 3 after.To note. Every numeric value that has a decimal is 10 characters. 6 before the decimal, one decimal and 3 following. Every numeric value that does not have a decimal is 9 characters. I want to keep all Alphabetical and Null values untouched.Thank you for your help!

in my fmw file there are many number of rows updating using database transformer. after thousands of rows fme hangs and not responding. i suspect this happens because database updater not comming after some interval i think. how to pass the value for commit transaction. or did database updater committing by default after some rows?please tell me how to pass the commit/ transaction value to database updater ?

I submitted a critical ticket for this, but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced engines shutting down and not coming back up for a long time or without manual intervention to reboot the service or FME engine service. I have this topology and would like to merge the red segment with its corresponding blue segments. (Blue segments are on both side of the red segment.) I can group all red and all blue segments but I haven’t an attribute to group the related blue and red segments. Is there a way to do this with FME? Thank you for the help.

Dear Sir/madam,I am student, working on OSM highway(poly_line) xml data with respect to the keys Max_speed and surface for the whole Africa. In this case; I took at first, the Geometry Filter with line and I used 2 list_searchers for max_speed and surface respectively. And also use 2 attribute_creator for output. This way is working to get a Geo-database file which i can use on Arcmap. But it takes a long long time to read the data because of XML data.Could you please help me to find the faster way or model to run the XML data? I have a line feature class (with a field SURVEY), which I want to separate into 2 feature classes. In the first one I would have those features that have more than one feature with the same value in the field SURVEY - and in the other one - those features that have a single entry for a value in the field SURVEY.I believe I could explode the original Feature class by the value in the SURVEY field, then count features in each of them, then test for value "1" and merge if required. But I don't know how to create separate features based on the value in the field.Just to give you a context: For the first one I will later create convex hulls based on field SURVEY, but for the other one - buffers (as the convex hulls wouldn't look too good for a single lines). But this is not part of the question - as I know how to do it.Please advise.

I am attempting to develop a workflow that detaches a SQL Express database, downloads and copy an updated version of the database, and reattaches the database. I have the middle section working (FTPCaller and filecopy writer), but I'm struggling with the attach and detach. I keep thinking there might be a way to do this using a startup and shutdown script, but I'm not having much luck. Has anyone had any success doing something similar? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Background: I am maping a system of marked trails in a national park. There are dedicated trails for hiking, short walks, skiing, cycling, snow mobiles, snow shoes and what have you. In short it looks like someone droped a bowl of noodles over the place. In many places there are many uses for the same trail section, and it is these overlaping sections that I am trying to clean up.  Question:I have used LineOnLineOverlayer to find the overlaping sections and have created a List over the attributes that identify the type of trail, but from there I have not found the tools to move on. What I would like to do next is to break appart the overlaping sections from their original longer lines and apply a number of sorting rules to the List. Some examples: Where hiking and skiing overlap I would like to delete all but one polyline and give this a new code. If there is a Nature trail I would like to delete everything else but that. If there is a cycling trail I would like to keep that for later
