Is there a way to customize the translation message after a workspace was successfully ran by the end user from the FME Server web interface? Rather than writing to a download file, I would like to just show a custom message after the translation was successful. This would be similar to how I use shut-down scripts on FME Desktop to bring up pop-up windows with statistics and information from the logfile and workspace after the translation was ran.

Can anyone help me with a fairly simple workflow with transformers I need to use? Below is a simple graphic example. I have several overlapping polygon layers and would like to extract a non-overlapping polygon layer that uses an attribute value as the hierarchy (priority) for determining how to clip the output polygon. Polygon Input: Desired output:Additionally, I'd like for the output to have the polygon source name along with output. So in the above example, the attribute table would look like:ColorValueBlue4.0Green3.0Yellow1.5Red2.5Not too worried about this addition because I figure a generate list will accomplish that part. Any help for the above would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks 

In my LAS reader I have selected fme_basename to be outputted as an attribute with the feature.In the data inspector I can see it has correctly populated this attributed with the filename of my LAS.The dropdown under DEMRaster in the ReasterDemGenerator shows that fme_basename is an attribute. However when I look in the data inspector it doesn't contain my LAS filename but instead 'RasterDEMGenerator'Is this correct? I was going to read multiple LAS files and output a DEM for each file, using the fme_basename as the filename for the DEM. Seeing it's not being carried through though I've had to create a user parameter and process one file at a time now. Thanks in advance.

Just going through the motions of upgrading an FME Cloud instance and I'm looking for a way to migrate the job history into a new instance. I know, however, that this isn't supported with the backup and that some db work is required (https://knowledge.safe.com/articles/816/fme-server-job-history.html) The problem is that I can't seem to access the fmeserver schema.   My work around will be to use the REST API to get the data and create my own job history table but I would rather avoid that if possible. Am I missing something here?

Hello,Does anyone have experience automating the download of data packages from the BC Data Catalogue (https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset?download_audience=Public)? There are dozens of provincial datasets I would like to automate the download of on a weekly basis to keep the data updated for my organization, the problem is that they require submitting a AOI (or mapsheet) and an email before receiving the zipped data package in an email.Thanks! 

While converting from 3DS to CityGML, I am not able to get layer by layer information on the GML file. The 3DS file got 7 layers but the GML file Just got one object. How can I solve this?

I'm trying to create a workspace to create a XML file from an excel-report (Sample) and an excelfile containg some other information (Blad1). However I'm running in to issues with the encoding of the created file. It seems like textwriter is not able to output UTF-8 encoded characters (input contains Swedish characters like åäö). Trying to understand where in the process this gets wierdly formatted but loggers seem to show the right characters.  When I exchange these characters manually in the output XML file the validationservice I'm using is working. Anyone who can point out how to fix this? Kind regards. 

Hi,Apparently (this is new to me too) the ESRI Shape definition has been expanded with a "code page file" (*.cpg), which contains the "code page" of the table structure, i.e. field names.I've just received such a data set, but FME doesn't seem to recognize this extension. My field names end up as un-decoded UTF-8 string, e.g. "ByggeÃ¥r" instead of "Byggeår".Is it possible to have FME (2017.1) recognize this extension, or if not, are there any plans to do so ?Cheers

I need to perform AffineWarper in Group By mode. Separate affine control vectors for separate group of objects. Any idea?

Sometimes I really need to use a Group By in a transformer, but the parameter is not available. Is there anyway I can hack it?

want to do something like this in FME Original Table Age  Number 0-10 5 10-20 10 20-30 230 plus  4 Create new attribute with range values or group values in Name field by ranges. The only way I can think of is to use Attribute Creator and use conditions to set up each category range. I am hoping there is an easier way of doing this. Lee!

I am using FME 2014 in order to manipulate some shape files. When I load and inspect the content of the shapes file, I get the following problem:  Although all the greek characters of the content is shown correctly (in UTF-8), the titles of each column (seeing in data inspector) are not recognized. A similar problem I had some time ago with an excel file which had content in greek. In that case also I could see the content of the excel cells but I could see the names of the tabs (sheets). Back then it was enough to rename the sheets to latin characters but now I don't have this luxury (some hundreds of shape files).  What is the issue here? Is there some internal encoding properties in FME? I see I have the same problem in FME 2015.  Moreover, I try to import a shapefile with greek characters and FME can not read it correctly. In the directory field it shows question marks instead of greek characters and its impossible to load it!

I'm using FME 2018 with default python settings, I got the attached work space and it doesn't work because of the python problem , I don't know much about python or the coding of the transformers . @daleatsafe @boubcher @takashi

Hi, i'm trying to run a simple workbench with @DateTimeNow(local) on FME 2018 (build 18578)  / windows 7 French but i get this error: DateTimeStamper: Failed to load timezone data. current_zone() failed: A mapping from the Windows Time Zone id "Romance standard time" was not found in the time zone mapping database.. Please visit http://www.safe.com/supportDateTimeStamper: Failed to evaluate expression '@DateTimeNow(local)'. Result is set to null It works with FME2017.1 running on  Windows 7 fr or FME2018 running on windows 10 fr. Do you know what to do to avoid that?Thank you,David  

UPDATE: After further investigation it is the exact same bug as the 2018 version. When Updating/Deleting features with user created id's the writer is unable to use the id as the 'row selection attribute'. When the id matches the internal spatialite id the row is updated but when the id differs the row is not changed.  Old text:Nice new feature is the ChangeDetector in the 2019 beta. Because I had some trouble with the Spatialite writer in the 2018 version (FME18567) I desided to create a test workbench for the 2019 version.I think the workbench should update the geometry of the 5th feature. This feature I moved to coordinate 2,1 but when i read the file all features are at coordinate 1,1. The 2nd feature is UPDATED correctly to the value 'new'. By the way, in the FME18567 I was unable to UPDATE features, but it looks like this is fixed. The writer did not read the internal spatialite id and could not use the user made id to update.

Hi Can i know how to convert TIFF into JP2 format in FME. i just created one workspace and it's working, but the problem, i am not able get input filename as in output. 

I am processing a directory of XML files. I have set the source dataset to just .../*.xmlHowever, I would like to save the results according to the source Filename. How do I set the output filename to be the same as the input filename?

I'm fairly new to FME so my apologies if this is a pretty straightforward question. I'm trying to create a GTFS Feed using FME by reformatting data I already have in a excel table. I'm getting an error from a reader and I'm not quite sure where to look, tried reformatting my table data again but no avail.
