Hello:I have an external resource that has an API that utilizes basic authentication using a token.When I run the api call using postman or other REST API testing software, I get an OK response.When I try running it using the httpcaller, I get a:HTTPCaller(HTTPFactory): Received HTTP response header: 'HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden' message.Inspecting the response body gives:{"code":"rest_forbidden_context","message":"Sorry, you are not allowed to view entries","data":{"status":403}} I know that the api is working because it works in POSTMAN and other REST API testing software. What am I missing to get http caller to work?I'm new to APIs and to FME. I have a table with three attributes: NAME, LOCATION, and AREA. I want to get the row with the largest area, for each name. In Oracle, I can do so with this query: select    name,    location,    areafrom (    select        name,        location,        area,        max(area) over (partition by name) as max_area    from mytable)where area = max_area I could put this into a SQLExecutor, but I'd like to be able to do this even if my data source isn't Oracle.  Can I accomplish this using FME transformers instead?

Is it possible - if my translation fail, user will get an email with fail message, if translation is successful, in that case user will get an email also with successful translation message.

Hi FME'ers,I have two network datasets, one for all streets and one for footpaths only. There are instances where the footpath and the streets follow a similar path. This is never exact and they often weave around each other, intersecting each other at multiple points. I need to find a way of identifying sections where the street network and footpaths are similar. The goals is to reconcile their geometries but the decison over which geometry take precedent is not mine to make. I have attached an example. The green is the street network and the turquoise is the footpath. Thanks,David

If I wanted to hide a transformer so that it couldn't be added to the canvas in an FME workspace, can it be done? I don't want to do anything drastic, just tuck it away so that another transformer would be used instead. Lets say I didn't want anyone to know the 'Reprojector' existed in order to ensure they always used the CSMapReprojector, is there a file I can edit somewhere to 'comment out' the Reprojector...?I've tried editing \\transformers\\fmesuite.fmx to no avail.Many thanks...

Hi,I have two datasets of line features which I want to check individually for duplicate line features. However, the output containing the duplicate line features of both datasets should be combined in one dataset. I used a Matcher transformer on each dataset. When combining the output I of course get similar match_ids for features, that aren't always matches of each other. How do I adapt my workbench to avoid this? Is there a way to set the match_id attribute of one of the Matcher transformers to start counting at a specified number? I also can't send both datasets to the same transformer, because for my datasets that would result in unwanted matches. a simplied version of the workbenchAnd a simplified version of the generated output 

Morning all I am trying to check some DGN files are to a correct standard, i have to check each dgn file has the correct level names, Even if the level names are not used. Is this possible, or does FME only see the DGN Levels (fme_Featue_type) that are used.  I have used an excel list that contains all the level names, added the DGN file to check. Hooked these up to a feature merger, that outputs two excel lists. Missing Levels and used levels.  however a empty DGN that just contains a line on "Default" level, fails the test, even tho it has all the correct levels set up, Even tho they are not used? I hope this makes sense. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Using FME Workbench 2018.1Reading DGN V8 Files and CSV

The Extruder's error I recently used the Extruder to process the floor plan and expect to be able to stretch it into a 3D building model, but I have encountered many problems. In the process, I used 3dsMax to generate the same model at the same time, and compared it with the model generated by Fme. I used Fme Inspster and VS Code to view the Fbx model and compare them. I got some of the following points and discussed them together. 1, The Location Is Wrong When viewing the model with FME Inspster, the model's position is correct. However, when using VSCode's 3D Viewer for VSCode module for single display, the position of the model is tilted and inconsistent with the position of the origin!I judge that there are two parameters "Geometry Instance Local Origin" and "Geometry Instance Matrix" missing! Because from the Fbx file generated by 3dsMax, both parameters are valued and the location is correct.My question is, why does FME not calculate the attribute

Hello,I would like to know if there is a syntax in the XML reader “Elements to exclude” option for excluding a node when it has a specific attribute value. For instance I would like to skip reading all nodes "complexAttribute" which have an attributeType equal to "TTOM-Name:Name.Body" such as in this example node:<complexAttribute attributeId="ee823867-532f-4fca-83ad-6dd9f8df7524" attributeType="TTOM-Name:Name.Body">…</complexAttribute> Such nodes could be present at different levels inside the XML. If these are skipped (because they contribute for a significant part of the XML volume and are not necessary for my process), then it will be easier for me to flatten the XML structure using a series of ListExploders for the remaining nodes.Thanks for your hints!Olivier

I have defined a custom transformer, and it is outputting more attributes than what I want. I just want to output these two attributes (network_id and lower_network_id): But when using it in the main workbench, it is also outputting attributes from the original input features: I assume this is is because they automatically propagate all source attributes forward, but I want to avoid this, I just want the two-column list. How can I achieve this?

This is part of another ongoing process. At this point I have 3 DXF file features. #1 = River lines (outlines for eventually a River Area) , #2 AOI for this sheet of data that has now been broken up at each intersecting river line, #3 River centerlines. What I'm attempting to do is select each broken AOI piece that instersects/ touches the river center line and keep only those. The spatial relator or the spatial filter both show that they should work but it is not grabbing all of them. I'm getting roughly 8 out of 11 chopped AOI lines that i need. Everything has been snapped to the AOI to ensure they are close enough together in order to be touching/intersecting (i've used both parameters in the spatialrelator/ spatialfilter tools). In ArcMap you would be able to use the select by location and grab all of these features but I want to do this in fme. Simple Question:I have a GeoTiff writer. I want the root name name of the GeoTiff to be the same as the root name from a LAS reader. So if the las file is called "cheese.las", the geotiff would end up as "cheese.tif". I tried connecting the las reader to a FilenamePartExtractor, connecting the output of that to my geotiff writer, then setting my "Raster File Name" parameter as the "_rootname" value from that output:  Seemed logical - but now I'm getting this error:GEOTIFF writer: Failed to obtain raster from feature. Only features with raster geometry are expected It appears that new connection is sending the geometry of my las point cloud to the geotiff, when all I really need is the name of the thing.What do I do?

Has described in the article job priority is no more supported. I've migrated to fme server 2018.1.0.3 and dekstop too. I have upgraded FMEServerJobSubmitters but in advanced settings of the transformer I find Job priority ... 100 . Why? I can't delete the value and if I run my jobs I find warning in fmeserver.log:WARN RequestHandler-Thread 404636 : Job 1801 specifies a priority, but job priority is no longer supported. Hello, I have the following problem writing SQLite files.I have several use cases where I want to write SQLITE files. For my application, it is important that the virtual tables are also generated in the SQLITE file. If the table name is Table_A, there should also be a virtual table fdo_table_A.I've created some workbench that worked. But I also have workbenchs in which the virtual tables are not created and I do not see the difference. Does anyone know the condition that these virtual tables are created?Many Thanks David

Hi, I have 2 inputs(shp) using it in AreaOnAreaOverlay transformer where I want to have output from both the readers but, it is always coming from either of them. Is it about which transformer is connected first to the transformer or added first or something else. I am not getting it the right way. Need expertise!

I have a large dataset in an Intergraph Geomedia SQL Server feature class that is a compound feature class. It is a combination of line and area features, but I only want the area features. Because of the size of the dataset, I would like to get the database to do the work separating the two as it reads in the data (not using a GeometryFilter on the canvas). To do this, I'm trying to use a WHERE clause on the reader that only selects a certain geometry type from an exposed Format attribute ("fme_geometry" = 'fme_polygon'). But this isn't working. I've been successful with a similar WHERE clause on a User attribute, but can't get any results with the Format attribute.Is it even possible to use a WHERE clause on a Format attribute?

I probably found a discrepancy in the StringReplacer but would like to check.In the Attributes field not only Attributes but also User Parameters are selectable. Nothing seems to happen, and I think this is correct behaviour, or am I missing something?Checked in Workbench 2018.1.1.0

I am trying to utilize a file share within a workbench and establish a network based resource connection on FME Server through the web ui but receiving errors that we have been unable to diagnose. In both uses, the error states "Folder not found" and the location is being referenced by unc path (e.g. \\\\server-name\\folder). The folder in question contains a space, so I have attempted using single quotes and url encoding the unc path with no success. We currently use other file shares within FME Server, and have granted the computers credential (e.g. mango$) read/write access to those resources with success. From the system that runs FME Server, I can verify that other users can access the file share in question, so there doesn't appear to be a firewall issue or other connection related issue. Any help would be appreciated in resolving this issue.We are currently on FME Server 2017.0.0.1

Hialthough I can read english quite fluently, for this kind of technical stuff I still feel more confortable doing it in my mother tongue, spanish. I feel I lose nuances that can make my processes more efficient becuase I did not select the right transformer.I have seen that there exist the FME in spanish, but I don't need it. I am OK working in english, it is just sometimes I waste too much time 'deciphering' the help :)I have seen that all the documentation (and you have a lot) is in english. I'm sorry if this has been answered before but I couldn't find the exact answer to my question which is:How do I change the output name of an excel sheet (or file) based on a specific attribute name. Example: I need my output sheet name to be "Namn" and automatically read from the attribute name since I have multiple similar datasets but with variations on "Namn". All of which should be put into a separeate sheet but in the same file.It is probably really simple but as I said, I couldn't find it.(For me the output parameters and schemas are real confusing)
