Hello everybody,I´m trying to find a way, how user can define source file for SchemaMapper. It´s all about editing source file for SchemaMapper on user side and then he will run a workspace.But, my main question - is there any way, how user can edit mapping file (with adding of new columns) and then incoming features will be automacally mapped? And is there any way, how can user choose a mapping file? I checked that at choosing mapping file, there is no possibility to set source mapping file as parameter. Do You have any idea, how to dynamically change SchemaMapper transformer?Thank You so much!Lubo

I have an Excel spreadsheet where I want to pass several attributes as variables into a SQL Query using a SQL Creator transformer. What is the best way to achieve this? I don't see how I can make the attributes as user parameters.

Default units when writing to FBX is cm (according to the logfile). I need to write to meters. I have tried using the Scaler, Affiner etc, but the "header" of the FBX still gets written as cm. I also tried to write to ASCII FBX and see if I could scale up the file afterwards - but with no luck. Now I tried to create a new coordinate system that is a copy of an existing one - but with units cm instead - to see if this "tricks" FME to think it is already in cm - even if it is in meter.The issue is that the opening software (Navisworks) seems to try to convert the geometry but not the material/texture/raster-coordinates. Anyhow it might be usefull to be able to write to m instead of cm.

Hi thereMy first post here, so be gentle. I have made FME workbench to calculate different kind of attributes from DWG file (line lengths, areas etc.) and export the results to Excel file. The idea is that the workbench calculates the chosen things from DWG file and distributes them according to the divider area. Calculating part is working like a charm, but I have a problem with arranging results to form I want. It is hard to explain (in English what I mean, so here is the picture that hopefully explain what iam looking after. I have spent way too much time to solve this problem by myself, so I am more than happy if someone could push me to right way.Thanks in advance!

When writing las files fme defaults to determining its own scale factor and offset values to utilise in the output file. For a las to las conversion is there a way of forcing fme to maintain/use the same offset and scale factor values that the input las file has?

I have a scheduled workspace running in FME Server. Upon success or failure, it posts to the same topic that runs another workspace. This workspace uses the FMEServerLogFileRetriever to pull the Feature Written Summary and then uses the FMEServerNotifier to run another topic that sends an email with the Feature Written Summary as the content. Right now, I'm querying the last job_id run in the fme_job_history to get the info. But, if more that one job runs at the same time, the logic gets a little fuzzy. It would be better if I could just pass the job_id from one workspace to the next. Is this possible?

I've received this error -- Implicit NAD27<->NAD83 grid shifts may not be performed until Canadian or US grids are chosen -- running a workbench in FME Server that contains a CSMapReprojector reprojecting from NAD83 to NAD27. I remember choosing the US grid shift when installing workbench on my desktop, but don't recall an option for choosing this when installing FME Server. I think some information is given on how to rectify this in FME Server in the log file, but it is not adequate for me. 

I am try to make a web connection between FME and OptenText Content Server. But still don't succeed. The thing is, I need to get data from the content server using REST API then manuplate it in FME. Did anyone of you guys make this connection or can give me hints on what should I do?

I have a workspace in FME server, that includes PythonCaller.The PythonCaller includes a script that needs a directory as one of its input parameters.The directory that i want it to use, is provided to the PythonCaller as hidden user parameter. The definition of the user parameter is just text, and the value also consists of other user parameter values, that were provided from a desktop workspace which triggers the server workspace.I have tried everything. I've changed the parameter definition and i've to put r and quote marks around the value. Still the workspace fails.This error message for example comes, if i just try to input the user parameter value as just plain directory (D:\\Data\\citydb_temp\\...)" Python Exception <OSError>: [WinError 123] The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect: 'D:<backslash>Data<backslash>citydb_temp< ..." So how do i put a user parameter directory as an input parameter in to the PythonCa

Hello,I need to process a number of text files holding differing numbers of data rows.The first 7 lines are fixed - they are the loggerid / siteid / channelref / units / totals / startdate / enddate.After that there could be a different number of rows with a datetime and a value.I need to process these files into a sql table with the fixed 7 lines data added to the datetime and value rows. The data in the first 7 lines will change so I need FME to process the files once at a time into the writer rather than all at once.Any idea how I do this?CheersN

I have been reading the 2018 Desktop Basic documentation. When introducing the Integration Transformers there is an example of workbench shown below :From the situation, I suppose the Dropbox contains only images with specific names. These names have to be contained in the ImageFile attribute of Parks. I am wondering about the set up of the connector which allows the join of the right feature with the right ParkImage. I believe a Download action from the connector might have been done and that the destination probably was set to Attribute, but I don't seem to make it work on my own.

I have a lot of points, like a grid, that I would like to transform to polygons. Any point that is closer to 0.5m should be joined to forme the polygon. Any point with no close neighbor can be ignored. Any suggestion is welcome :) 

I have a PATH reader reading in a folder named base which contains a folder named folder1 that contains some txt files. I have a filecopy writer containing the location where I MOVE folder1 to. I have an attributecreator to modify the filecopy_dest_datase attribute to folder1_datetime.Each time I run the workspace, the folder1 and its contents are moved to the new location named folder1_datetime - looking good. The problem: an empty folder named folder1_datetime is created in the same location as the fme workspace .fmw file. Why is this empty folder created in the location of my workspace?Thanks,Alex

I have been tinkering with the /opt/fme-engine-2019/fme APPLY_SETTINGS a bit.I was wondering which other commands and options are there? How are these settings stored?Browsing the safe-documentation I only found the helpful LIST_SETTINGS and options to configure both python, R and some proxy settings.I did an upgrade (deinstall - reinstall -restore from backup) and the settings were just as they were previously.At this moment I would like to 'revert' some entries I made, but DELETE_SETTINGS is not an option apparently. Neither is PURGE_SETTINGS to restore them to the install-default.Thanks for taking notice..Martin

Hi, I'm attempting to use the FeatureWriter transformer to write intermediate data in my workspace. The issue I'm running into, is that unlike in Esri's ModelBuilder, I can't connect that output/writer to another transformer, which is what I need to do. Because I'm working with Esri feature classes (in file geodatabases and SDE geodatabases), the formatting of files needs to be just-so. If I'm starting with a .xlsx file and would like to eventually perform spatial analysis on the data, I need the ability to write it to an Esri-friendly format ( geodatabase table) before I can start editing fields, completing joins, etc. I can get the workspace to the point of writing the .xlsx table to a .gdb table, but I'm not sure how to use the FeatureWriter transformer to continue the analysis I need to do on the .gdb table in the same workspace since that transformer doesn't offer any output ports to connect the dataset to another transformer.

I am using FME 2018.0 desktop, and writing to a DWG with the AutoCAD Writer (in a feature writer) with a template file which has a large number of blocks. However, not all the blocks are used by the output file that is being written. I have set the writer to "purge unused objects" in the hope it will remove the unused blocks when it writes the output CAD file. However, the unused blocks are still being included in the output file. Has anyone else experienced this issue and/or found a way to resolve it? Could it be an issue with my template file? Below is the information I found about this writer feature in the FME Documentation.PURGEThis directive can be used to turn on/off purging of unused objects or entities before the final drawing file is written out. Unused objects are those which are not referenced by other objects in the drawing. For example, for a layer to be eligible to be purged, there must be no entities on that layer.
