Hi,I have a number of points on a road network in CSV format with Lats and Longs as well as a shape file of the surrounding road network. I want to break up the sections of road network between my points so I can assign a value to sections of road based on traffic flows. I am currently using PointOnLineOverlayer but it is rejecting all features. Is this the correct transformer to be using?Thanks, Matt

The scenario is :  An httpCaller inside a costum with parellism active to send requests in parallel.Im trying to find if there is a way to have a featureWriter or any other writing solution inside a parallel costum so that it writes the results/ httpCaller responses as they get processed by each parallel child fmeworker.As far as i understand FME queues all results of each child fmeworker into an internal buffer and when all its done it outputs results out of the costum to proceed on the pipeline.Happens that, sometimes parallism crashes with ERROR like below not beeing able to keep track of what was done previously .I tried to wrap a featureWriter inside the parallel costum transf hopping that it would write the results in realtime during the parallel process into a database, but it looks like it stills writing only at the end of all child processes end sucessfully. im using FME 2018.1 Build 18547 - WIN64  2019-10-03 10:46:58| 960.1| 28.3|ERROR |Error in child process '0', exited with

Hi All,One of our customers was upgrading their Acceptance and Production servers (VM's) with ArcGIS Pro / FME 2014 DataInteroperability 32-bits and ran into a strange problem. Both machines were equal configured with the same software .Resources: New Acceptance server 4 GB and 2 Cores New Production server 12 GB and 4 Cores, because more is betterand running a workspace with a FeatureMerger (merging 2 x 1 mln+ features together) and several joiners on the new Acceptance machine was performing just like the old (A & P) environment, merging the features within 3 minutes. However, on the new Production the Featuremerger slowed down to 0.0x% features merged and was optimizing memory all the time so it could run all over the weekend without ending.Installed a separate FME Desktop to exclude possible influence of ArcGIS and DataInterop, but without result.Because the 'hardware' resources were the only differences, I suggested to downgrade the Production server to the same co

Hello, I am working on revamping a workspace that is used as an open data platform to export all available data into 5 different formats (Geopackage, FGDB, DWG, CSV, SHP). Each dataset (ie. cadastral, development, engineeering etc.) have varying featureclasses that need to be exported into one zipped folder. Currently my set up has one writer per dataset per format (10 datasets, 50 writers).Is there some way to loop through the formats on a single writer, while writing out into a zipped folder per format? Thanks!

Hello there we are reading an XML URL , in order to extract the features and values,we used the XML fragmenter, the problem is we need to enter the attribute to expose into the transformer setting , is there a way we could dynamically read them, because there large number and also avoid any typo problem.  

I am looking for a way to change the server to which my SQLCreators and FeatureWriters are pointed to based on a parameter. I am not seeing a clear way to do this in FME. It is my understanding that in FME, we can use Python to dynamically set parameters or update transformers. What is the preferred way to do this? Can I update the Server property of a Database connection? Or should I change the connection property of the writers and creators?

Hello, I have created using TIN Generator a TIN Surface. The output geometry originally is IFME Mesh. I want to create a solid for AutoCAD Civil 3D. I have tried everything I can think of (incl. setting Geometry Coercer to brep solid) but the result is this:It still appears as a polyface mesh in AutoCAD and in FME the outer surface remains a mesh. Any ideas? Thank you. George

I have being trying to get the TesseractCaller to work, to get text out of images into GIS. The TesseractCaller always outputs in the <Rejected> port. I found this Forum "https://knowledge.safe.com/questions/81922/the-tesseractcaller-only-returns-75-of-the-image-a.html " where TesseractCaller was working, so I downloaded the FME Workbench and the pdf from that forum and tried to run it on my end to see an output, but nothing. For the couple of runs I was using Tesseract version 5, I installed version 4 but it also fails. I'm trying to get text of an image into GIS, if not easily to GIS, Excel will work. I have attached the log file I am getting after running the attached Workbench. @dmitribagh - i have made this forum following the conversation in the other forum . @danilo_fme - saw that you had help someone in another forum related to this topic.

Hi, I'm trying to optionally switch off the Spatial checkbox in a Writer by linking to a User Parameter. There is no drop list to enable me to control the Spatial box. I've tried unsetting the Spatial Column and setting Create Spatial Index to No (both of which I can link to Parameters), but then my non-spatial data doesn't get written out.Any clues?Chris BB

Hi all!  I wonder if there is a way to write a multi-page PDF which can accommodate a 3D model? In practice I can write two separate multi-paged .pdf files (3D and geospatial), however when I try to write all data in one 3D .pdf 2D data with text and images etc. dissapear or get integrated into the 3D show box.  I can achieve page merging outside FME, but would rather have all in one workflow.  Are there any successful practices out there? Hey,I have FME Desktop licence where I have several workspaces created and running fine.I open these workspaces individually and run them manually as required, these are not tasks that need to be run on a predetermined schedule (I have got some of those workspaces being triggered by batch files and windows task scheduler). These tasks are just random one-off's that I want to trigger.I am hoping to use a html file on my local machine to trigger individual workspaces on demand, rather than having to load FME Desktop Workspace, and running them manually. A 'dumb' html file like this is what I am wanting to set as my homepage for triggering several different workspaces:Is this something that can be achieved without a FME Server licence?I have done some searching for a tutorial/example but all of the things I am finding are using FME server.Any ideas?

I have a workbench that I regularly use to read from an Oracle Locator database and write to an ESRI file geodatabase. It writes about 55 feature classes to this geodatabase (approximately 8 million features total) and takes about 90 minutes to complete. I have just had an SDE made available to me so I made a copy of my original file gdb workbench and have been changing it to write to the SDE instead. The problem I'm having is the workbench now writes extremely slowly; it took 90 minutes to write a single feature class with 168,000 features in it (at that rate I estimate it would take two or three days to write all 8 million features to the SDE). Has anybody experienced anything like this or have any idea what I can do to speed it up? If it makes a difference I believe the SDE is running on some version of SQL Server. Thanks,Mike

I'm trying to download a filtered csv from a URL but the HTTPCaller is transforming the URL in a weird way by adding codes for single quotes, greater than signs, and spaces in the URL. The previous step in my model is a SQLCreator that queries a table in my database to figure out what the latest payment_date is, then returns that date formatted as: '2019-09-20T00:00:00.000'In the HTTPCaller, I have the following in the Request URL: https://*baseURL*.csv?$where=payment_date...and the following as a Query String Parameter: > (in the name column) and InvoiceDate (in the value column but set as the result of the query above.The URL I need to form with this is: https://*baseURL*.csv?$where=payment_date>'2019-09-20T00:00:00.000'Instead, what I'm getting is this which doesn't work in a browser or in FME: https://*baseURL*.csv?$where=payment_date&%3E=%272019-09-20T00%3A00%3A00.000%27' The best I can tell is that FME is translating the symbol for gr

Hi I have a workbench (see attachment 1) which works out the area of each feature in a dataset (BrownfieldSitesInGreenbelt) that is within a constraint (in this case Ancient Woodland). I would like to repeat this process with all the constraints feature classes within a file geodatabase.I know I need to use the workspace runner to do this and have created a workbench (attachment 2), but I do not know how to get it to iterate through all the feature classes in the file geodatabase. At the moment it seems just to read all the items in the FGDB and not do much else.Please could someone advise where I am going wrong? Many thanks

Hi All,I've got a situation where I am dynamically feature reading in any number of feature types, and exporting via the generic port. I then have a list of all possible feature types and the schema mapping required. Am I right in assuming the SchemaMapper requires attributes to be exposed to be "mapped"? I'm looking for a solution where the SchemaMapper can see the dynamic unexposed attributes and map them.
