Hi, has anyone looked at categorising streets in terms of effort to sweep? We're a UK based Local Authority looking to focus resource and want to establish streets within "blowing distance" of trees. Some sort of high, medium, low categories.
We believe we could purchase / produce a tree map (IR/DTM/DSM) but does anyone have any experience of then relating that back to streets other than a simple distance to/from the street lines?

If you have a point object of the tree and a height for the tree, you could then calculate a radius around it. Added to that you could multiply the radius with a wind factor that gives trees in a windy area a larger radius than those that are more sheltered, if you have some sort of wind data that you can overlay. Then you can overlay your "leaf spread circles" with the road segments and calculate the percentage of each road segment that is overlaid by a circle and display that percentage in a map that will then show you the road segments that need the most maintenance.
