Hi, I am using a PythonCaller to create an XML string. When I send this string through an XMLTemplater, all "<>" brackets are converted to "<" and ">" (html encodings). Adding a StringReplacer/StringPairReplacer to replace all brackets works fine but can take some time for larger content . Is there a way to prevent the XMLTemplater from converting brackets to encoded brackets? becomes:

I'm trying to create a relationship (1: n) between a shapefile and four tables and publish it in an FGDB. I created two columns with AttributeCreator (goedb_feature_has_relationships) and (geodb_oid). As a writer, I have four options (see the following figure). I selected (Esri Geodatabase (File Geodb)).I noticed that format attributes from my writer doesn't contain (goedb_feature_has_relationships) and (geodb_oid). It is the same with other writers. Because of this, no relationship is created in the end. every excel file has a relationship (1:n) with my shapefile. I would be grateful if you could tell me why the problem is. Many Thanks. 

ContextI am building a custom transformer. I need to transform input features into points to process them and then build back the features geometry before to output them. Output features are expected to have the same geometry type as input ones. ProblemI thought I could just reconstruct the geometry of the features using the LineBuilder transformer, but it creates polygons with closed lines, even when the input feature is a line (fme_line), not a polygon. QuestionHow can I reset the features geometry to their original ones before sending the features to the output port? The GeometryCoercer could do the job if I could set the output geometry at runtime (e.g. using an attribute with original fme_geometry value).

Error message when converting four shapefiles into one FGDB. Error consists of:An error occurred while attempting to create the feature class 'SB_Aussenkasten'. The error number from ArcObjects is: '-2147220649'. The error message from ArcObjects is: {Cannot create double column table.}I would be thankful. if someone could tell me what the problem is. This has been asked before, at least here and here.  The problem is best described in the picture, with the starting point on top and desired outcome below. The data is huge, so manual attribute creation is not an option, the attributes should be generated like "Year@Value(number)" and "Explanation@Value(number)"I have tried the method used in these, with AttributeCreator with every option I can imagine, but to no avail. I've used it in conjunction with AttributeExposer, but without any good outcome.  Dear all, is there a solution to this?

Hello friends,Im a new user of FME. I have a dgn file with hundreds of points with or without tags. i need to convert this dgn to shp with unique custom ids. Is it any procedure or transformers to do this in fme. I mean each point have unique id numbers I tried with many videos and tutorials didn't solve my issue thanks

When I am translating Smallworld 4.2 using a seed file that has a coordinate system set the file that is created does not have a coordinate system set. If I create a file from within Microstation using the same seed file the new file does have the coordinate system set. I verified that during the translation using FME the correct Seed file is being used. I then created a translation of a V8i Microstation file translating to another V8i Microstation file using the same Seed File and the coordinate system is unset in the created file. Am I missing some kind of setting? or is there a know problem with Coordinate systems and Microstation files?

Hello,  FME Desktop 2019.2.3.3 Build 19825 Win64 I'm getting a few issues when using the Directory and File Pathways reader to get the subfolds in a directory.  I have a Published Parameter that is set up for File_Path input. If I put a path with a space in the name I'm able to see all subfolders when running in FME Desktop, but once I write to csv the file paths are truncated to only show the path up to the first space. Example:  In FME Desktop I see this: \\\\unc_path\\a\\b\\a b c Here's what the csv output looks like: \\\\unc_path\\a\\b\\a  That led me to try and add double quotes "" "" around the path in the Published Parameter which then gets to my second issue that it then adds commas "," into the path where the spaces are.   We'd like this workbench to be dynamic and allow any file path whether there's a space or not. Is there a solution that doesn't require my end users to change the file path to forward slashes, double quot

Hi, I'm fairly new to FME. I'm curently trying to set up a workbench that reads data from multiple sources and merges it. However, I have to be able to work repeatly within a specific extent which is provided with a shapefile (see pic below). For now, I just wan to manually input a shapefile with one feature ( hopefully I manage to find a way to loop the procedure with many features but that might be for another question). Right now, I can't seem to be able to pass the extent coordinate (which I get from a BoundsExtractor) to the search envelop of a FeatureReader. This post (https://community.safe.com/s/question/0D54Q000080hXiFSAU/assign-bounding-extents-to-reader-search-envelope) talks about using spatialFilter after the Feature Reader but that means I have to read ALL the data and then filter it (which I don't find very optimal).  Has anyone have an idea on how I can go around this?Kind regards,Anne-Marie

I'm using the EsriReprojector with source RD_New to destination GCS_WGS_1984 and geographic Transformation Amersfoort_To_WGS_1984_NTv2. Later I need my features to go back to RD New so I use the EsriReprojector again with the source and destination switched and the geographic transformation direction set to Reverse. But this gives me a different coordinate system: _Netherlands-RDNew-2008_0 instead of Netherlands-RDNew-2008 (what it used to be). Why is this a problem? Everything is projected with an offset of 100m.  When using geographic transformation Amersfoort_To_WGS_1984_2008_MB in reverse it seems to be fixed. Yet it still gives me the new coordinate system _Netherlands-RDNew-2008_0 Why, how, and will this give me problems when overwriting layers with Netherlands-RDNew-2008?  Any dutchies with the same question? 

Looking to use these building footprints from Google, and they're in a format I haven't heard of before, a 'spatially sharded CSV'. We just upgraded from 2018 to 2021 and like the new option of "Streams". Using this for a RabbitMQ job and working great! But my question is around creating a stream for a job without a stream mode transformer.  The documentation says the following: "The workspace must contain a transformer that can run in Mode: Stream" This made me think it would not work, but tried it in place of a job we currently use the "Run Until Cancelled" option with and it seems to be working fine. The job is just constantly polling a REST API with an HTTPCaller for updates to real-time data (wish the vendor had an event based option but do not).  I like the idea of having all our near real-time integrations running in this separate grouping of streams. And that you can dedicate an engine to it vs. Run Until Cancelled just grabbing any which one and holding on to it. Any concerns with using streams like this or know why the documentation seems to imply it will not work?

Hi, I'm trying to run a workspace in FME Server. It has a few different KML writers, each one with a "Filename (output)" parameter for the output file. It works fine in FME Desktop, but when I run it in FME Server with the same parameters (Manage Schedules -> Enter parameters -> Trigger), I get some errors (I'm replacing the actual path elements with "blah" to avoid any problems with the client's security policies): KML: The file `\\\\blah\\blah\\blah\\' has an invalid or unsupported extension `'KML: Parent folder `\\\\blah\\blah\\blah\\' does not exist.KML: Cannot write to dataset `\\\\blah\\blah\\blah\\blah blah.kml'KML: Error initializing writerOGCKML writer: A fatal error has occurred. So I was given a workbench that was quite extensive and it has a lot of junctions. These junctions were only added so that annotations could be placed on a specific location for readability. This doesn't sit well with me because feature caching is on and the workbench is prone to memory issues already. Also, I don't like the cluttering. But it makes sense to get the annotations where you want. However, after reading several posts it is still not clear to me whether junctions add to the cache or not. Can somebody tell me whether they do add to the cache or not?

I'm trying to build a workspace that will allow users to select a file, identify X and Y attribute names using published parameters and have it be translated AND transformed. I found the Easy Translator demo, which covers the translated part of what I'm trying to do (and is broken - I submitted an issue on GitHub). Now I'm getting stuck on the transformation part as the attribute names are read in as a feature, and the actual attribute names are coming through as col0 ... col5, etc.I need to get to a point where I can either identify what column number that the attribute names are that they listed in the published parameters, or ideally rename the col0 attribute to the actual name that it is.

In attached workspace I get unexpected DuplicateFilter behavior, The Inspector result is, Since the two features have the same value for the nombre_cientifico attribute, I am confused with the unique port output. Any suggestion?

Hi :-)I have an issue with FME Desktop 2020:Whenever I open a workspace which includes an InlineQuerier (to be precise: with a filled SQL-query at the output-port), I get the error "File C:\\Program Files\\FME_2020\\metafile\\SQLITE.fmf could not be opened" inside the Translation Log.When I open the same workspaces with FME Desktop 2019, this error does not appear. Further system-infos:I have installed FME Desktop 2020 (path as mentioned above) alongside with FME Desktop 2019 (default-path).FME Desktop 2020 Version: 2020.1.2.0 Build 20620 WIN64FME Desktop 2019 Version: 2019.1.3.0 Build 19642 WIN64Thanks in advance and best greetings :-)Florian

I have a directory watch which triggers a workspace. This Workspace should be executed only once. But unfortunately with every detected file/folder a job starts.
