I just would like to convert xml files to json keeping the structure. I'm trying to convert a CityGML file into a 3d model that I could open with Blender, I was able to use FME data inspector to convert it to .obj, but it doesn't come with any textures. How can I convert CityGML to .obj or other 3d format with textures included? EDIT: And by the way I have never used FME before, and I'm not planning to use it for anything else than converting CityGML to 3d models, so explaining the process step-by-step would be really helpful.

Hi,is it possible to use the LineOnAreaOverlayer transformer to test all lines in an area against all areas step by step. That means i have 10000 areas and all should be testest one by one against the 15000 lines in the line port. As a result I need a list which shows me what lines are in every single area. And yes, the same line will be in more than one area. Maybe i colud use a second workspace and use the workspacerunner to bring the data in, but i hope there will be a smarter solution for that.

I'm running into a problem with the Google Sheets (V4) Writer. We have a Tableau Public Dashboard connected to a Google Sheets Document. Tableau Public will only daily update it's data when coming from Google Sheets. Other data formats are not supported.To keep our dashboard up to date I'm writing a selection of the last 24 months of data from our internal database to Sheets. About 1,5 million records. Using a 'truncate existing' mode. Only 1 column of data. All columns from B to Z have been removed from the sheet. Writer is set to end at column A . So no extra colums are created.When starting with an empty sheets this runs perfectly fine but after a week of daily truncates the sheet contains nearly 10 million rows. Only 1,5 million contain a value, the rest is empty. So not a real truncate, just a 'delete value' is performed. The next day my workspace crashed because the sheet will exceed 10 million cells...A drop and create won't work either because it

Due to a company merge, need to change the network domain for the entire infrastructure. What is the best way to handle FME server migration to the new domain? Is it possible to do an in-place migration, rather than building a new FME server?

My input is contour lines, I want to convert to raster. How can I do this? I was thinking contour->vector->raster, but i am not sure how to convert contour to vector. Any help would be appreciated

I consider to replace my Http callers by the Asynch Http caller.  I am curious whether other users have experience with this Asynch HTTP Caller. This is related to this idea which is worked out in a transformer.  Because the test suite states 'failed', I doubt whether I can use this transformer safely. Anyone experience with this transformer?  

Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to write nested attribute structure to a GEOJSON file. For that reason I've prepared some sample data for a Quick Translation to see how FME would set up the writer feature type properly. But surprisingly, my nested structure is lost during that translation! So in fact my test endet up in two questions instead of delivering a solution:1.) Why does the Quick Translation fail2.) How do I set up the GEOJSON Writer properly to build the desired nested structure.2.1) In case JSONTemplater is the solution to this task, how do I have to set it up properly? I spent some time playing around but never came up with some suiteable result, especially for proper GEOJSON (geometry handling, type defintion and so on). Find attached my sample file. Hi, I am having problems with converting a TIN surface to a raster with height information. The input data is a LandXML which contains a surface of type IFMECompositeSurface. Right now I feed the surface into the RasterDEM generator with the following settings: The coordinate system is EPSG:28992 so the surface tolerance is set to 1cm, however the results are quite jagged:To give you a sense of scale, the image above is for an area of around 1300 meters wide so the the jagged points seen above are sometimes a 100 meters wide. To check my results I decided to convert the result to a pointcloud so I could take a look and compare it with the original surface in the 3D view in FME Inspector. In the image below you can see that the pointcloud that was created from the raster actually dives beneath the original surface:Does anybody have an idea what could cause these problems? The result of my workspace is several geojson files. For usability purposes, I want to include a fixed template .qgz file which is already on the server in the zip, so end users can immediately open it in QGis.However, I can't find a way to get this to work with the Data Download service.​As a proof of concept, I created a minimal example that just loads a binary file, and writes it again. However, the AttributeFileWriter can't be selected as a Writer output for the Data Download service. Is there another way to include arbitrary binary files with data download?

Hello , I have a feature geometry with two parts (IFMEMultiArea with two IFMEPolygons). Using PythonCaller transformation, I want process line segments in various parts of the geometry.Is there an API for getting the coordinates of any part of geometry?I am able to get the part count as follows: partsCount = feature.numParts(True,True) I can get the parts as follows: areaPart = feature.getGeometry().getPartAt(0) But I could not find a suitable API for getting coordinates of a particular part in the API documentation. Thanks in advance. Regards,Byju

Hi All,I am sure I am missing something simple. I am setting up a workspace to read in FileGDB metadata and write that out to a spreadsheet. Seems fine but I would also like to work with the base 64 thumbnail. I can write that out to a cell but having problems making use of the thumbnail in this format. I tried using BinaryDecoder and RasterReplacer but generate an error below. Any thoughts? Many thanks. Additionally....if there is a better way to work with the thumbnail in an ESRI File GDB please suggest. Thanks again! I keep on plugging away at this. One thing that puzzles me is I can take the thumbnail base64 text from Binary.Thumbnail.Data and get a jpg from one of those online Base64 to jpg converters so the string from the xml metadata is valid it seems. Just cannot get a read on it in FME. Thoughts? I have had FME writing to an ArcGIS Online Feature Layer, working no worries. I then decided to 'tidy up' my field names and alias, so I dropped a few fields and recreated with more appropriate naming convention. So in my FME workbench I have removed and then re-imported my feature type, thinking it would pick up my changes.Note: the fields were dropped and recreated using the AGOL web interface. Since reconnecting/importing the feature type and renaming the fields accordingly in the writers User Attributes I am getting the below errors, and I cannot work out why the workbench is still trying to write to those old field names. Below is the current field names, these were originally slightly different, as shown in the errors below. Here is my updated User Attributes panel, these fields match the above updated AGOL fields (as far as I can tell) But when I run it, I get the below errors, these line up with the OLD field names I was using. 2020-04-08 19:32:06|   1.4|  0.0|INFORM|ArcGIS Onl

Hello, I'm looking to generate a number of lines from coordinate data within a spreadsheet, each with distinct start/end points, but grouped by a common attribute. Each of the points are ordered numerically (and geographically). Using LineBuilder seems connects all points in a line to eachother, rather than creating one line sequentially. The image attached shows how the relevant data is organised, so with this data I'd need 3 lines, one each for group A, B, and C, with each line each starting at point 1 and ending at point 5.  Thanks for any help!

Hello everyone, So I have two data set (Set A & Set B). I want to find how many B polygons are overlapped on A. I am able to find the overlapped polygon attribute by using spatial relator (by explode the list). However, the geometry of the exposed list is not correct. They all have the same geometry (from the test filter transformer). Is there anyway that I can have both correct attribute and geometry? Thank you for your help.

I'm manipulating an IFC file, writing it back to IFC with a few changes. So far I couldn't figure out how to write a Material Layer Set. I can see it is defined in the geometry traits of my original IFC file but when I write it back out it seems to remove the information.
