Hello.I am looking to split some of the attributes of a filed into 2 separate fields while rest stay in the main field contents. even the split one part goes to separate field and rest stays in.example I have following data:Banana 24Banana 25Banana 26Banana 27Apple 01Apple 02Apple 03Apple 04Pear PearI want it like Banana stays in original field and 26 goes to separate field.but nothing happens to pear.I tried using tester to filter them out then attribute manager with string function to replace but length is not same for all attributes how do I handle different length?Thank youNikki

Hello,The following settings of the StringReplacer works for some feature attributes, and doesn't work for others.This is aimed to replace dots for commas (or vice-versa) in a decimal number.So, it normally works for example like 100.5 -> 100,5 But, I just used the very same transformer in a different feature, and the result is zero, for example: 100.5 -> 0 Both columns are 64-bit real. I can see in the the "cached features" in Data Inspector that a valid decimal number goes in, and out goes the zero. Any ideas?Thanks in advance

I'm playing around with security settings and it seems that if you password protect a custom transformer, it still spews out info in the logs from the internal guts of what's going on. Is there a way to prevent the internal guts of a custom transformer from being logged? Ie. I just want to show the input and output of the transformer. Is that possible? We can't seem to get it to work using any of the available transformers, nor any of the help we've searched for online. We just end up with either the data in the output table staying the same, or an error in the transformation. We are using a standard file GDB in ArcMap with a FC containing about 10 million records, and we want to replace about 200,000 of those records with updated info that is located in another FC in the GDB (based on a common field (county)).  Is there a way to do this??

I am in the process of developing a custom transformer that can write a coded domain list to a new file geodatabase file, using this article as inspiration: https://community.safe.com/s/article/creating-and-associating-geodatabase-domains-dynam  The hope is to create these domain values either from the existing data or a look-up table within FME. Then upload the file geodatabase with these new domains to ArcGIS Online. I have followed the guidance in the article and believe it should work. The attached transformer edits the schema feature of the relevant attribute to something like this: "attribute{7}.native_data_type (string: UTF-8): coded_domain(FloorType:char(255):2:"2":1:"1":0:"0")". But when trying to write dynamically to gdb from the Schema Feature, the domain doesn't carry through.I compared the syntax of writing a coded domain manually to gdb in FME (by editing the user attributes) and looking at the log, and the format is the same as

We recently upgraded FME Desktop (and also FME Server) from 2021.0.2.0 (b21321) to FME 2021.2.2.0 (b21806).  In the past it seemed that the floating licence settings would only have to be configured once (the first time opening FME Desktop), but now users are confronted with a (floating) licence activation screen every 2-3 days or so. It's manageble, but a bit of a nuisance for our FME Desktop users. Has something changed on this front? And if so, is there an option to make sure that the (floating) licences configuration is stored for a longer period of time? Kind regards, Thijs    

Hi! I'm validating geometry of the CityGML files and I want to find out the errors and the smallest corresponding parts of the same feature for visualization purposes. According to the GeometryValidator documentation, features from the InvalidParts output port should contain attributes explaining what issue the smallest part(s) correspond to. With the help of the ListExplorer transformer I can get the error name (i.e. issue_found), but not the details. So the question is, how can I access the details attributes from the InvalidParts output port? That is very relevant because usually error name does not contain all needed information (e.g. what is the subtype of error).  Of course, I could get the error details easily from IssueLocations output port, but then I get only point features instead of surfaces or solids. Is there any solution for this or am I understanding something wrong? Thank you!

I have polygons of two different shape files and would like to have a possibility that FME shows me (either with an attribute or with a flag or geometry) where there are gaps oder overlaps between both...the poylgons should have the same geometry but they haven't the same area.....the second shape is only a part of the first.i have tried some overlayers, intersectors or other transformer but none of them gives me that i want...i think its a combination of some transformers.i don't want to repair the polygons only find these errors!Any helps?Thx Franco

The file is not in use elsewhere, and is not password protected. Which user is supposed to be set up with write permissions to the file from FME Server? FME Server Error message: "Excel Writer: Failed to save changes to the spreadsheet '\\\\data01\\pathname\\TermUtility\\LOCID_Output.xlsx'. Check that you have write permission to the file, it has no password protection and is not opened by another application. Error message is 'Permission denied.'"

Hello,I have set up a IMAP publisher to poll one of our inboxes. The idea is for it to trigger a workbench to download and process data when our supplier informs us of an update. When I send a test email which is either blank for in plain text it works, but the supplier emails are HTML and the JSON in the Topic is invalid. The part of the JSON that is invalid is in the imap_publisher_content{0} section. This is the HTML message which I think it treats and JSON so fails when it’s expecting a : or }. Hi.Our main production FME server only has two engines, and its primary function reserves one engine for its function. This leaves a single engine for all other jobs.But the primary function only runs from 06-18 (6AM-6PM), so it's basically idle for 12 hours, in the period where a lot of maintenance jobs are run.Is it possible to set time limitations on queues, so some jobs may be run on the reserved engine from 18-06, i.e. during the night ?I'm running 2020.2.5, and here it's not an apparent option.Cheers

Hi,The KAFKAConnector works fine und provides me features with a filename "key"and the file itself "value". In my case "value" holds a zip-file with Shape-Layers. Hi,I have 1 raster containing 3 bands. All bands contain water depths, but for separate areas. Since they are for separate areas, I would like to merge this information into one band. The final product would be 1 raster with 1 band containing the water depths for the different areas. Thanks.

Hi, I have a non-spatial SQL dataset containing a unique identifier along with 2 sets of coordinates (start x and y, end x and y). I am using 2 vertex creators to spatially enable the data and then want to draw lines between the coordinates, separated by each unique identifier. However, using the LineBuilder the output is only coming out of the Point port and nothing is coming out of the Line output port. The workspace worked previously using Desktop 2018, the only difference now is I am using 2020 with updated SQL data, though the data type is unchanged.

Hello all.Last year, I delivered a number of Shape files to a customer, which they had no problems in using.Now I've adapted another of our systems to create Shape files as a supplement to an email message.These latter Shape files cannot be read by their ArcGIS Pro. The error message is "Failed to add data: ... A user-supplied component or subscriber raised an exception (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040208)". I've also tried to apply Geopackages, but they err the same way. Both output routines uses FME. The former used straight up fixed writers, and the latter uses FeatureWriter, but that shouldn't matter, right ?I cannot see any difference between the two Shape files, and QGIS reads them both without any qualms. Apparently they can read the offending Shape into QGIS, and have it save it as another Shape, that works in their ArcGIS Pro.I cannot see any difference between the two flavors (in QGIS), except that one fails when input to ArcGIS Pro.Does anyone have any

I remember that the number of processes in parallel processing had been determined by "Parallel Processing Level" and the number of CPU cores, in the old days. The attached screenshot is from FME 2017 Help.However, I cannot find the table above anywhere in the documentations for the current version of FME.The table above can be applied to parallel processing with a custom transformer in the current version?

When I add a custom domain for Salesforce in FME, FME is not adding or permitting the ?locale=au suffix. The formatted string should be https://p-2576944.my.salesforce.com/?locale=au but FME looks like it is using https://p-2576944.my.salesforce.com.

I'm trying to get each source point to be analyzed separately and to create polygons as a result of isochrone. All my attempts, including changing the transformer, were unsuccessful. In an Interlis Model provided by the state, I have to write two geometries per feature to Interlis2. Using this FME article (Writing to Database Tables that contain Multiple Geometry Columns) I was able to read the multiple geometries from Oracle. In the database I have a view with both geometries (point and additional polygon). The linked article only provides information for writing multiple geometries to databases. In the Interlis-Writer (ili2fme) I don't have any settings for treating features with multiple geometries. Is it even possible?The interlis model needs the "primary" geometry (point) to be written as standard geometry, while the secondary geometry (polygon) should be written into a specifiy attribute "Detailgeometrie". I'm trying to read a .json file into a single feature attribute. So far all my attempts to read the json has led to it being flattened, with all json 'keys' showing up as an attribute. The reason I want to have it in one attribute is that the jsons in question are service definition for ArcGIS Online content. Essentially it gets converted into a python dictionary using json.loads(feature.getAttribute(...)).  One workaround I've thought of is just changing the extension of the json to .txt and reading that instead. However, I would prefer to do it a neater way, if there is one. Any suggestions?

My last pair of FME socks from the 2017 UC are on their last legs. Probably the last day I'll be able to wear them. I'll have to put them in a safe place until I can put them on for the UC in August. Anyone else need some sweet new Safe swag? 

I have an existing workspace that uses 2 feature writers to create a single excel output file. The first feature writer creates the file and writes data, the second feature writer adds additional data to the same file. [Yes, I needed to use 2 feature writers because data is written to the same sheet but in different locations on the sheets.]The target spreadhseet uses a template.I also have a parameter(s) to set the file name- $(tgtFileLoc)\\$(tgtFileName).xlsx If I run the workspace from a server App as a 'job submitter' it works as expected. A single file is created with all the data and the file is renamed.  If I run the workspace from a server App as 'data download' I receive a single file with only the information from the second feature writer, the file is not renamed, and the template information is missing. Why was the file not renamed?Why is the template info missing?Why is info from only the second feature writer showing? Thanks.
