I am having trouble connecting to the API at https://developer.vasttrafik.se/portal/. I would like to get the public transport stops (https://developer.vasttrafik.se/portal/#/api/Geography/v1/admin), but I am stuck, I keep getting "HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden" from the HTTPCaller. I have tried using "Authorization" as suggested at https://community.safe.com/s/question/0D54Q00008WImfCSAT/using-fme-to-call-power-bi-via-the-api-to-refresh-data-sets-dynamically-i-am-stuck-with-the-authentication-piece-for-the-bearer-token, but no success. Any suggestions on what I might be missing?

FME 2020: How to pass the Blocks number to their Parcels? In the screenshot below, there are two layers: parcels and blocks. I wanted to pass the blocks number to all parcels contained in it to end up with a new layer that has two fields: parcel number and block number What might be the best practice to perform this? The data is attached 

I'm looking to generate the Getis-Ord GI* statistic in a workbench hosted on FME Cloud. I believe this can be achieved with an Rcaller, or by calling certain python packages.  Is it possible to install R, or non-built-in python packages on an FME Server instance hosted in FME Cloud?

I'm trying to speed up the processing speed. There might be a few different ways to do this. I'm trying to make incremental changes to a workspace and every time I run it, it takes about 40 seconds. I have two tables in ArcGIS and I use a FeatureJoiner to join them in FME. One of the tables has a data field. I'd like to only process a range of dates. I have about 8,000 records total and I'd like to limit it to 1,000 or so records. Once I get my workspace functioning correctly, I'd like to remove this date range limit. I'm very new to FME.

Hi! I have a question that I can't figure it out myself. I have a CityJSON (v1.0.1.) building data set which contain surfaces with type both "RoofSurface", "WallSurface" and"GroundSurface". How can I read or filter my data based on these types? Does FME support this when processing CityJSON, like it does for CityGML? I have tried eg. to extract geometry parts and deaggregate buildings, but none of these helped. Thank you a lot!

I have a user parameter getting a string of comma separated words. I would like to use that as items/arguments to filter whether or not a feature attribute contain one of those words. It would be to be used on about 10,000 features eventually with maybe up to 5 different words I can get the user parameter to a list, and then to an attribute, but I can't find a way to use those to filter my dataset, either using Like, In, or Contains Any idea how this can be done?It's basically to filter whether a path does or not contain some words

I have a bunch of records with a GroupID attribute on them. Some GroupIDs will only have a single record/geometry, while others will have multiple records/geometries. When I use the Aggregator, it aggregates ALL the records, even the ones that only have a single geometry part.How do I either aggregate only the truly multipart aggregates or deaggregate only the single part aggregates?

One of our technical directors wants to know more about FME, what it is / isn't, and what it does / doesn't, etc. Basically a quick overview of FME that shows off its capabilities. He's signed up for Introductory training, but I feel that that's too detailed and too technical for his position.I read about FME Accelerator. What exactly is that, and who is it for? Would that be suitable for senior management, or is it still pretty technical?I find the Accelerator web page a bit too vague (https://www.safe.com/accelerator/)

I wanted to centralize assignment of Database Connections in my FME Server automations. I currently have a published user parameter on each of my workspaces, connected to the transformers in each workspace, that I can set in each workspace action individually in an automation to switch between databases to load. Each time I want to switch the location I have to change the user parameter on each workspace action in the automation which feels a bit clunky and prone to error if you have many workspace's in an automation. I was wondering is there a way to centralize assignment of Database Connections in the FME Server Automation? I thought perhaps creating a Global Key for the database connection might work but that doesn't look like it's possible. Is there a better way to do this?

I am trying to export to a geojson file (to upload to Mapbox). Unfortunately, 5 out of my 736 features have a type of GeometryCollection. The remainder of the features are MultiPolygon and Polygon. Mapbox is unable to work with the GeometryCollection. I tried using a GeometryCoercer with the Geometry Type set to fme_multi, but all of the features go through the Untouched port. I also tried running the 5 through a GeometryRefiner. This converts 2 of the 5 to MultiPolygon, but I can't seem to get the remaining 3. I have been trying to figure out how to use the GeometryPartExtractor, but I can't seem to get the syntax correct (this is all quite new to me). I'm also wondering if my lack of understanding of the Geometry XQuery syntax is the reason I can't get the GeometryCoercer to work. If anyone has any experience with this, I would greatly appreciate the advice. Thank you.

Hello, I have a single line, and also a set of 16 points that lie along that line.  I need to split the line into 16 different segments that start/end at these points. I found PointOnLineOverlayer that does this, and even mentions being able to apply attributes to the segments.  Its working perfectly to split the line up into segments, the problem I'm having is that those segments don't seem to be taking their attributes from the points that split them, but instead are taking them from the original line, and so the attributes for each segment are identical. How can I apply an attribute from the points to each corresponding segment of the line?

Hi FME'ers,I am using the HTTP caller to download multiple CSV files to a folder. I'd like to zip the folder and output the zip folder path as a single features to a automation writer. Can this be done? The automate writer would then trigger a second workbench to read all the CSV files and process them. I don't want to automation writer to trigger this workbench per file. Thanks, David

Hi, I installed FME Server 2021.2 on a new machine then did a restore with the overwrite option (oops). So I overwrote the Dashboard and Utilities repository workspaces with old versions. Is there somewhere I can download these workspaces? Thank-you, Kathy

Hi Guys, New to FME but really enjoying the journey to date. Today I hit my first confusing issue which although I have resolved I am pretty sure they must be a better way. I had:Created an MSSQL tableCreated an FME reader which detected the schema including attribute types and so forth.Did some processing and wrote to a file geodatabase. But:I then made some minor changes to the underlying MSSQL table i.e. changed text to decimal etc.However the reader would not detect these changes. I had to delete and recreate the reader for then changed to be detected. Is there some easier method which I am missing to get the reader to detect changes to the table schema in the database? Apologies in advance if the solution is simple but I am missing it! Thanks,Barry.

Hi together, I am wondering if it is possible to pre-configure the favicon, header and footer section whenever we build a new FME workspace app on FME server. The idea is to replace the generic FME server icon and to replace it with our corporate color(s) + icons and a custom footer (e.g. our contact details) in a way that anytime we create a new workspace we would not have to reapply the color scheme, icons, favicon etc. Is this possible via an out-of-the-box FME server workspace app (e.g. configuring this from the backend on the server machine)? I'm trying to reproject layers that were built in CAD. The first 6 figures of the coordinates match up to british national grid 6 figure grid ref. BUT there are 9 figures in the grid reference almost like it used BNG in millimetres instead of metres. I'm sure it is a simple quick convert/reproject but I'm a bit stumped...?

Hi All, I am stuck trying to figure this out. I am having trouble seeing feature classes inside FeatureDatasets using the FeatureReader. My Feature Types to Read is fme_feature_type_name and I am exposing fme_feature_type and geodb_metadata_string. All seems to work for feature classes but FCs in FeatureDatasets are skipped in Generic. They come across in the Initiator though. See screen cap below. I must be missing something simple. Any thoughts?

I have a workspace which reads rows from an excel file and writes the same rows to an other excel file using dynamic schema definition. Gets the schema from the excel file which is read. My problem is that the first row that is read is skipped in the writer. In the attached example the output will only contain the second row of TestExcelWriter.xlsx

I have a data that contains whitespaces at the beginning, between and at the end. I have used an attributetrimmer to trim out the spaces at the beginning and end, but I am left with the spaces in between. Please, does anyone have an idea of how I can go about it because I can't keep using a stringreplacer repeatedly for this large dataset?

Hi list.We're still running FME Server 2020.2.5, and now our IT department is fuzzing over questioning the version of Tomcat that runs FME Server. Something with potential vulnerabilities.Is it possible to update this Tomcat without updating FME Server itself ?If so, what are the caveats ?Cheers

I'm fairly new to FME Desktop. I have a FeatureWriter with three inputs. I'm creating an Excel file with three sheets. It works great except many of the column widths are much wider than the content. I have to open each sheet, select all columns and Auto Fit Column Width. Today I realized that if the data type is text(255) then the column width will be 255. If the data type is text(150) then the column width will be 150. My data source is an ArcGIS feature layer created from Survey123. The default length for a text field is 255 so, I have many columns that with a width of 255 in Excel. This doesn't seem like a great way to determine width. I'd rather go with the Excel default column width. In the User Attributes tab of the FeatureWriter parameters, I see that I can set the column width. I believe that I can use zero to auto fit the column width. The problem is that I have about 30 columns and 3 sheets so, I'd have to type '0' close to hundred times. Is there

FME Desktop: Attributes fails to be transferred to a file geodatabase, In the screenshot below, I wanted to write the result of the “geometry filter” into a file geodatabase having all fields transferred. However, the indicated fields are not transferred. What could be the issue here? The data and workbench are attached
