***Note from Migration:*** Original Title was: ReprojectLengthCalculator Source Coordinate System read from feature or attribute Currently the ReprojectLengthCalculator Source Coordinate System parameter can only be specified manually or via a user parameter. It would be nice if this can be specified via an attribute and also have the option to read from feature, as the Reprojector does.
Data Inspector should reveal invisible (non-printable) characters in any String and Workbench should warn the presence of such characters. For instance: from x{0000} to x{001f}, x{007F}, x{0081}, x{008D}, x{008F}, x{0090}, x{009D}, x{00A0}, x{00AD}.How should a human being tell the characters above and a blank space apart if there is no distinction between them in FME User Interface? (I did to copy and paste inside Notepad++ to figure this out).
Create simple Powerpoint presentations. Features specify headings, text, pictures, tables which are strung together to make a set of slides.
When using job service, its possible to specify the writer output to use for the notification on sucess/faliure. This is not possible when scheduling a job.
***Note from Migration:*** Original Title was: Add the ability to search FMEPedia for posts referencing a specific version of FME Things change so quickly that often the search results in FMEpedia aren't relevant to my version of FME. I'd love to be able to limit the search to only specific versions of FME. "Drape images over surfaces" version=fme2018 or something. Or maybe another dropdown beside the Spaces and Explore menus? The posts from 2010 aren't very relevant in some cases.
Add a function to copy/paste tester parameters between different transformers. E.g. if I have a number of conditions set in a tester which I want to use in a condition when creating an attribute or in a new testfilter I now have to recreate the whole conditional. A copy/paste or import from transformer function would make life easier.
Instead of making the Excel writer even more complex, we should move to an Excel styler transformer that allows for setting the output style for each record (feature/row/cell) and the whole sheet, separately from the writer and entirely dynamically, based on attributes. This should be similar to transformers like PDFStyler, ChartGenerator, HTMLReportGenerator etc. and allow for settings like font, colors, alignment, formatting, cell protection, formulae, borders, conditional formatting, cell validation/dropdowns, filtering, inserting images, transposing, pivot tables, hyperlinks etc. There could be an Excel-style table in the transformer that allows to assign an attribute to each cell and make the above settings based on other attributes. There are already a number of ideas around regarding Excel that could be united in this solution (filters, styles, fonts, template).
Add buttons or context menu options to transformers to navigate to the previous and following transformer(s). This is especially useful in large workspaces whith far-away transformer connections where pannig to the joining transformers can be cumbersome. This could look similar to the buttons that appear when connecting transformers.
Based on this question (and the answer that it is not possible in an userfriendly way):https://knowledge.safe.com/questions/42334/styling-excel-cells-in-the-writer.htmlI would like to suggest allowing the Styling options in the Excel writer to take attribute values. This would allow conditional styling values for different cell values.
The Podcasts have an RSS, also do this for all the webinars! https://www.safe.com/webinars/
Hi,I would love for the possibility to add multiple output ports on both python transformers.
***Note from Migration:*** Original Title was: Rename MSWordStyler to WordStyler or ExcelStyler & PowerPointStyler to MSExcelStyler & MSPowerPointStyler Why MSWordStyler vs ExcelStyler & PowerPointStyler ?Why not :WordStyler, ExcelStyler & PowerPointStylerorMSWordStyler, MSExcelStyler & MSPowerPointStyler ?
I would like to suggest, if there is a way to provide small installation of FME such that it can execute workbenches thru command prompt or converting workbenches as exe files and perform translation. This will help us to provide the workbenches to non-FME users.
Make it even easier to load/retrieve/query/update SAP HANA spatial data
I nearly always have rejected Features and creating a new workbench always Fails my translations. But until now there is no possibility to Change the Default-Setting for new workbenches in FME-Options
***Note from Migration:*** Original Title was: PDF Reader & OCR Transformer. There are some open source OCR technology out there. Please vote also over at https://knowledge.safe.com/idea/18862/pdf-reader.html (Yes, I wish we could combine Ideas...)And for OCR, check out https://hub.safe.com/transformers/tesseractcaller
