Now that map making is a lot easier with the mapnik transformer I think a map legend maker would be very useful, as well as templates, north arrows etc The ability to search through all the datasets used and auto create a legend would be brilliant.
Currently in FME Server 2018.0, the FME Server Application Server follows standard CORS guidelines for Apache Tomcat and only allows * (all) or specific hostnames (http://server.domain.com) to be entered into the Allowed Origins Header for CORS. This idea has been created to collect feedback and interest for supporting wildcards on the subdomain level – for example, http://*.domain.com. Imagine when you have huge amount of input data and long list of transfmormers,And after making few small changes in the last transfromer, you have to wait a long time to run through all the previoius transformers to verify the changes of the last transfomer. I propose to add a new function called 'Storage Point' where FME can save the intermediate data passing through this point.Next time user run the workspace, there should be an option to 'Run From Storage Point ' which restore the data from 'Storage Point', begin running transmformation after 'Storage Point'.This time it might take 10s to verify my changes to the last transformer.

Support connections to Civil 3D survey databases.This would be helpful for syncing attributes in a projects survey database with other databases. More specifically point data in survey databases.I know Autodesk added an api for survey in 2017 and they've upgraded the file type of the survey database in 2018. Project survey databases reside localy in the project directory and use data shortcuts in Civil 3D to connect the database to the projects drawings. The database is a Microsoft® SQL Server® Compact 3.5 database. New and converted survey database files for 2018 have the file extensions SDBX and SDXX.

When we print the training manuals, it is not easy to retrieve a chapter or section because there is no page number in the table of contents.Also this is not always easy to make the distinction between a title, a sub-title, etc

Some customers have created custom transformers for connecting to AutoDesk Vault with FME. This idea is for creating an AutoDeskVaultConnector transformer. Please provide feedback in the comments on any specific workflows with Vault you would like to see possible with FME.
It would be very useful to copy-past the conditional value in the screenshot below to another Attribute transformer like e.g. the AttributeManager
Add the ability to copy/paste conditional statements in AttributeManager, including to existing attributes. You can duplicate conditional statements in AttributeManager and apply them to a new attribute but not to existing attributes. I would like to set up a conditional statement for Attribute1, copy it, and then apply it (paste it) to Attribute2.
Create a hybrid called InspectLogger which works like an Inspector when in FME Desktop - and as a logger on FME Server. Has the parameters of both Inspector and Logger
The current FeatruetypeFilter Update only, but if it is connected to a Single Merged Feature Type· FeatureReader or a transformer, can only get the name of one Featuretype, hope to be able to add the import function, so that can from existing data import Featuretype.
When adding a reader, there is a drop-down list available for selecting coord. system if you do not want to accept the source file's. This list holds selections from past projects that may not be needed anymore. It would be nice to allow some means to edit or sort this drop-down list.
Would be nice to have the option to show the bookmark the transformer belongs to in the Log File.This would be extra helpful when it comes time for debugging, would be easy to quickly group by bookmarked transformers, and quickly identify process times at an aggregate level.alternative is taking log and querying based on transformer names, but it is a huge PITA
I suggest to insert a column "Execution time" in the jobs Completed and a "Last execution time" in the Scheduler. That would be an easy way to manage the time/day we want a process scheduled running. No Dashboards needed.Maybe it would be cool to be able to choose which column we want to see. If I right click on the bar column names, I could delete or add some columns. Like in Windows Explorer.
It's awsome to copy/paste the conditionals in 2018. I'd still like to see the conditionals for one transformer, whilst editing the next one. I think it would be neat to use Summary Bookmark for this purpose. Yes, they would expand to large canvases for a while, but collapsed or removed again, shortly there after.Thanks guys! Ps. Oh, and what would be really awsome, is to have names and phrases highlighted in conditionals, that are referred or duplicated in other conditionals in the workbench!! Smartness @daleatsafe

Data Inspector should reveal invisible (non-printable) characters in any String and Workbench should warn the presence of such characters.For instance: from x{0000} to x{001f}, x{007F}, x{0081}, x{008D}, x{008F}, x{0090}, x{009D}, x{00A0}, x{00AD}.How should a human being tell the characters above and a blank space apart if there is no distinction between them in FME User Interface? (I did to copy and paste inside Notepad++ to figure this out).
The data filters are great but often over complex at the base level. It is not at all uncommon in FME to want to use the capabilities to string together a big workflow but as far as i can see there is no easy way to direct and control data. A dialogue with two columns - 1 autofilled with all of the reader/reader dataset names and 1 autofilled with all of the write names. Drag and drop readers to match writers and maybe drill down on each reader to expose attributes to do attribute filters, etc and direct to the correct writer. Maybe too much 1 ring to rule them all but at the basic level this would be good for newbies like me before hitting the more advanced filters.
Create simple Powerpoint presentations. Features specify headings, text, pictures, tables which are strung together to make a set of slides.
Hi,It is often necessary to convert tif with tfw to geotif. Currently FME creates a new image. This is not a problem when there are only a few. It would be a great saving of time and disk space, however, when there are so many, that FME places the tfw information in the tif to make it geotif without rewriting gigabytes (even tera) of data. The reverse operation: creating worldfiles or georeferencing .tab files without rewriting the images that do not want to duplicate would also be appreciated.
When using job service, its possible to specify the writer output to use for the notification on sucess/faliure. This is not possible when scheduling a job.
***Note from Migration:*** Original Title was: Add the ability to search FMEPedia for posts referencing a specific version of FME Things change so quickly that often the search results in FMEpedia aren't relevant to my version of FME. I'd love to be able to limit the search to only specific versions of FME. "Drape images over surfaces" version=fme2018 or something. Or maybe another dropdown beside the Spaces and Explore menus? The posts from 2010 aren't very relevant in some cases.
