I have a test environment so the data included in this workspace is just test data. I get the data via a http-caller. If I save "_result_body" with a JSON Writer and use feature reader to read in the saved json file I can get the polygons with no problem. But this wont work for me, I need to be able to directly interpret the response I get from the http-caller. I been hacking away for two days now and I just wont work. So its best to ask for help, and also some general tips on how I should interpret the response body. I read some tutorials about JSON and GeoJSON but those examples are not near as complex as this one is. I included a workspace where I created the response-body as an attribute if someone wants to push me in the right direction it would be nice. And another question. The data should appear in Sweden. But looking at the individual cordinates it looks odd, and the response from the http caller didnt include any info about the coordinate system. Maybe I didnt fill in the htt

To make matters worse, the extended data need a certain form (for example "CODE 1004 - Binary Data"). I have already found some impulses in the forum (autocad_extended_data_list {}), none of which helped me to solve the problem. Does anyone have any ideas or food for thought from you? Hello, my team uses a solution called Sitetracker that works on top of Salesforce. I'd like to read data from Sitetracker and also write to it. In my FME Desktop workspace I tried adding a Reader. In the Add Reader dialog, I set: Format = "Salesforce" Dataset = URL of our Sitetracker instance "https://<companyname>.lightning.force.com/" In the Salesforce Parameters dialog I set: Host = URL as above User = username of our service account Password = password of that service account Security Token = security token provided by SalesForce email Table List = "Quality__c" manually typed, as the ellipses show it to be stuck on loading When I try clicking on the Table List ellipses, they get stuck on the Loading dialog as per this screenshot: If I manually type the name of our custom entity "Quality__c" into the Table List, then I can click "OK" on both dialogs. I have the following. Reading an XML file then assigning its geometry and an SDE connection. When the comparison happens with the change detector it keeps repeating an update. Even though the geometry hasn't changed. The output of the change detector list: both are empty no spaces/tabs or anything of that nature. I can't even find where to set geometryObject or remove it. fme_geometry appears to be correct.

So what tips and tricks for FME in 2021 would you suggest? Are they the same as 2014? To me, FME is more mature and there aren't as many "tricks". And FME Server tips are becoming more dominant. Hi everyone, I'm struggling with the PointOnAreaOverlayer transformer. For some reason the transformer is not finding a spatial relationship when there clearly is one. My workspace starts out with two SQL-creators (one with geometry and one without geometry) that I merge based on a matching attribute. This works as expected. Next I filter the merged dataset based on a numeric value. After this I use a Shapefile reader and the aforementioned PointOnAreaOverlayer to count the number of points inside the shapefile polygons. No matter what I try, the results show there are no points intersecting the polygons. I've so far checked if the FeatureMerger is merging the geometry, which it is. Checked if all the inputs are in the right projecten, which they are. I am using user parameters to set the filter range and to set the overlap count attribute of the PointOnAreaOverlayer. I used fme desktop 2019 my source data is fgdb with 104,073,607 (104 million +)features org table shows 104073607 but only 80,900,000 records processed. there is no transformers between , reader is fgdb and writer is oracle spatial data. dont know , where was the issue. This is a silent failure of fme. no error msg. after writing the checked the counts, it was less. then i splitted the fgdb files into two part(using arcmap) then im fine. how to fix this issue? Is it possible to save temp to DFS when declaring environment variable for FME_Temp? We currently would like to seperate the temp data that gets created when running a work space to hit DFS, which resides on premium SSDs, as well as benefiting from deduplication. Is it possible to do this via DFS going across the network, it sees the location specified within the user environment variable pointing to it's respective location on DFS. It also creates the folders on DFS, however it still writes to the C volume of the session host being ran on going to C:\\users\\users\\username\\appdata\\roaming\\safe software\\fme. Or is this only possible if I added an additional hard drive to our virtual machine, then brought online and provisioned, and changed user environment variable for fme temp to point there? I'm new to the application, and if anyone is able to assist, it would be vastly appreciated. Thanks!

My question is a rather generic one as I´m still a beginner in understanding how to work with CAD and 3D formats, and not being a CAD user. I come from a GIS related education and now learning 3D, 3D visualization, city model administration with a hands on aproach. We have LOD2/LOD2,5 building models stored in DWG format. When viewing these files with a CAD program like Draftsight (or imported to sketchup/ArcGIS Pro) a majority of the faces appear as rectangles. But when viewing the files in FME Datainspector all the rectangular faces consist of triangles. If i run a "original" DWG file through FME saving it as a new DWG file using available writers ( AutoCAD DWG/DXF, AutoCAD Map3D Object Data, AutoCAD RealDWG) the faces consist of triangles even when opend with CAD software. Based on googling and older forum thread (* link at bottom ) I come to the conclusion that the faces which appear rectangular actually consist of triangles but the inner lines are hidden based on some data/informa

Anyone else have an issue where you aren't able to copy and paste transformers? I'm on FME 2021.1.1.0 (Build 21619), running on MacOS Big Sur 11.6. I did run a system update yesterday, which may be contributing to the problem, but I'm not sure what to do about it. As a workaround, I'm going to use 'Duplicate' but it would be nice to have copy and paste back. I will never take my clipboard for granted again. 😁

One of the parameters I want from the dgn is the level overrides symbology (such as color, style and weight) which shown in the attached image. Dear FME community, I have an important question concerning the FME workbench. I would like to know how one can extract the coordinates of the intersection-points of a line intersecting an area (a mesh with poligons). The coordinates of the intersection-points should have a maximal precision. To give you some more information about my problem I have attached some screenshots. here you can see a part from my workbench. Basically I just want to somehow combine the mesh and the lines and then extract the intersection points. here you can see the lines I was talking about above and the 3d-mesh. Now each line intersects the mesh at some point. I want to receive the coordinates of these intersection-points. I would be very thankful, if you could provide any information on how to solve this problem. If you need any more infos, just let me know :)

I have an existing ArcSDE table with several fields but there is one field called 'state' that has no value. I want to assign the value 'NY' to this field with no conditions, so all records should have the field 'state' with a value 'NY'. I can do this in ArcMap or using SQL, but when I try it with FME using the Feature Writer it does not update anything to that field. I have an Attribute Manager that sets the value 'NY' to the state field, I then connect it to the FeatureWriter Feature Operation: Update Table Handling: Use Existing Update Spatial Column: No Row Selection: Columns: state FME Desktop 2019 Thank you.
