Hey,I have FME Desktop licence where I have several workspaces created and running fine.I open these workspaces individually and run them manually as required, these are not tasks that need to be run on a predetermined schedule (I have got some of those workspaces being triggered by batch files and windows task scheduler). These tasks are just random one-off's that I want to trigger.I am hoping to use a html file on my local machine to trigger individual workspaces on demand, rather than having to load FME Desktop Workspace, and running them manually. A 'dumb' html file like this is what I am wanting to set as my homepage for triggering several different workspaces:Is this something that can be achieved without a FME Server licence?I have done some searching for a tutorial/example but all of the things I am finding are using FME server.Any ideas?
Hi I have a workbench (see attachment 1) which works out the area of each feature in a dataset (BrownfieldSitesInGreenbelt) that is within a constraint (in this case Ancient Woodland). I would like to repeat this process with all the constraints feature classes within a file geodatabase.I know I need to use the workspace runner to do this and have created a workbench (attachment 2), but I do not know how to get it to iterate through all the feature classes in the file geodatabase. At the moment it seems just to read all the items in the FGDB and not do much else. Please could someone advise where I am going wrong? Many thanks
I'm wondering if anyone else is using FME 2019.1 alongside ArcGIS 10.7.1 with 64bit Geoprocessing and is experiencing strange python behavior/errors?I've noticed many errors with workbenches that have startup/shutdown python scripts such as "DLL load failed: %1 is not a valid Win32 application" (Only occurs when a workspace runner kicks off another workbench that contains a startup python script, running the 2nd workbench itself does not invoke this error)To FME loading Python 3.7 despite the workbench specifying 2.7. I've also seen generic failed to execute python scripts.I can uninstall ArcGIS 10.7.1 and reinstall ArcGIS 10.6.1 and all workbenches run without issue. The moment I install ArcGIS 10.7.1 all these issues appear.
Hello Friends, I am new to FME, and I have a requirement to create a simple workflow. My requirement is as below.. 1. Get a count of rows from a source table ( in oracle) 2. Get a count of rows from a Target table ( in oracle). 3. If sourcen and target counts are different, then load Source table to target ( Truncate target table before loading.) How do I do it? what are the trasnformations I need to user. Could someone send me more detailed canvas pictures As soon as possible. Thank you for your help in advance.
Hey Everyone,I am using FME 2018.0 and it starts with a creator and a FeatureReader. This FeatureReader reads an excel file, and in the parameters I designate it to only read a particular row/column cell and that works fine. My challenge now is that I want to make the excel file a published parameter so no matter which excel file is used, the FeatureReader will always use the same excel parameter rules to read the particular row/column cell. I started by making a file published parameter and only accepted excel file types. For the FeatureReader, the dataset box (where you add which excel file to read) I added the user parameter function to grab whatever excel file the user adds. This however doesn't work because the FeatureReader parameters are cleared out and it wont find the particular column/row anymore. Any ideas? Thank you!or this issue?

Easy...1259 .000 files to be written to 1259 .geojason files. I want to keep the file names the same (with the extension changed naturally). So file1.000 becomes file1.json etc etc.
Hi.I just installed 2019.0 (build 19238), and tried to open an old workspace, which made it crash FME.After some work, I narrowed it down to a replicable error, where I open a blank workspace, and just try to add the Tester transformer. This alone makes FME crash.I tested whether my setting FME to use Python 2.7 was a factor, but it also fails with Python 3.7.Please advise.
I have fiber cable layer layer and this layer has field names To/From Structures. These structures are Point features (Poles, Buildings, Handholes). Poles are a separate layer buildings and handholes are also separate. if fiber cable is starting from the pole or hand hole and ending at the building.. i need to populate those starting and ending points of point features in fiber cable attributes i.e To/From Structures..Please assist what transformer should i use to fill out this inforomation in fiber cable. Thanks!Sarah
Any idea why my title bar is white?Just migrated to Windows 10. Using now FME 2019.1.1Thank you.
I am looking to convert an i.model (i.dgn) in a SnakeGrid format to a GIS .shp in British National Grid, using FME Desktop 2018. I have the relevant .dat file for the projection but am unsure how FME handles i.dgn files. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
First time user of FME. To make a long story short, I have a CAD file with a bunch of point data that I want to move into GIS. These are manhole locations. The manhole locations are fine, but of course the attributes do not carry over. I've run the 'Feature to Point' tool in ArcMap, which assigns and point location to every annotation feature. So, not I have a point at every manhole, and a point near every manhole that contains the annotation information of each manhole. Is there a way in FME to somehow link the annotation from P1 to the nearest manhole near that annotation point?I know there are also ways to work with the raw CAD file to achieve the same thing, but, no luck.

I'm trying to configure a new desktop for use with FMe Desktop and other software and i'm trying to figure out if FME Desktop gets any benefit from multi core processors and if so how many cores is recommended, i'm trying to decide between an 14 core I9 and an 8 core I7 specifically. There will be other software running simultaneously(Microstation V8I for example) but if FME won't go any faster with more cores then the I9 will be overkill. The technical requirements are not really helpfull for this as far as i could tell.
Hi Everyone, I would like to use FME AR in my cell phone, but the app in Google play isn´t available. How I can do?I need to build a drilling machine with FME...But I have some doubts...the FME AR works only with DEM formats or CAD formats??? Thank´s

How to display who has voted for my post? I’m wondering if there is a way to display who has voted to my post
Hi, I am reading DGN files to write line segments in oracle spatial, in the same workbench I am using this table to join those line segments and write the out put geometries in another spatial table. Now my problem is I want to keep these two processes in the same workbench and want that the table which holds the line segments should be populated fully before the line joining process starts, I can use workspace runner but in such case I have to divide these two process. Can anybody please suggest any work around.
So, I was very excited about the new feature "computer vision" after attending the FME World Tour earlier this year. Finally I can get FME to do the same for me as Google Photos, namely find objects in a large set of photos.Hugely dissapointed when I actually started looking into this. VERY LITTLE documentation. Found this blog post though: https://www.safe.com/blog/2019/01/fme-does-computer-vision/ I cannot even get the GUI to mark objects in my photos to run. After a little time on Google I can see that I'm not alone... Many having troubles both with preparing photos and using the transformers.Really Safe Software, using this as one of the new key features for 2019 and it seamingly does not even work properly...Please, can you publish some proper documentation and examples like you always do. I will not waste any more of my time until I now this works and have a proper documentation/example to go from.... @daleatsafe?Best regards,Atle
Hi, Since I came in this morning my FME Desktop has been running very laggy. Every time I try to move a transformer/reader/writer it stalls and then the buffering wheel comes up for 30 seconds. I have both 2019 and 2018.1 installed on my machine and both are running the same way. Any ideas how I can fix this? Thanks for any help.B
FME 2017I have a Schema Reader that is just use to input a file path, nothing more. The filepath is sent to a feature reader that I want to accepts multiple file types: .csv, .dxf, .dwg, .shp,The feature reader has the "generic" file type set and the filepath is provided by use "fme_dataset" from the Schema Reader. I do not understand how to do this.In the Output ports section of feature reader, In the "Specified" section I want to have "csv, dxf, dwg, shp" as separate output ports but it does not work it just prompts me for a file dataset instead. In the output that I can get the number of features is correct by there is no data.Is the only way to do this is to have multiple feature readers with the reader format set to the file type in question?
Is it possible to migrate workspaces between FME desktop and datainteroperability extension in Arcmap?
