I’m trying to dynamically add a suffix to all attributes in two Excel files. The suffix will come from the last 10 characters of each Excel file (fme_basename), which is the date the file was produced. I have not been able get this to work using the BulkAttributeRenamer. When choosing the Action “Add String Suffix”, only constants appear to work. I’ve tried using the Text Editor to dynamically create the suffix in the String dialog. I’ve also tried creating the suffix beforehand with an AttribuiteCreator and choosing it for String. Neither work. I’m using FME Form 2023.2.0.0 (Build 23764). Any insight or advice?

Hi, I have a JSON return form a HTTPCaller with schema info. I have tried to use JSON transfromers but so far no succes.Is there a more dynamic solution to transforming the return to my desired solution?Thanks in advance,Sander

I have a text field (attribute) in a table that is 2048 characters in length. I want to change it to 50. What Transformer do I use in FME to achieve this? I am using FME Form 2021. 

We use the SDK in C++. When migrating our code to FME 2024, I realized that several files related to pointcloud cannot be found in the new SDK any more.The only file I can find for pointclouds is pointcloud_fwd.h. But when using an IFMEPointCloud pointer, the declaration cannot be found. The files that I used in earlier versions of FME do not exist any more (ipointcloud.h, ipointcloudblock.h, ...)Where can I find these declarations now? Is there an example for C++, how the point data of a pointcloud feature can be extracted with the SDK of FME 2024? 

I have got an excel sheet and there are some cells with just colour and i don’t wish to include them for analysis purpose / output . Without any edits in Excel sheet (eg. add some kind of numeric or standard text for colour cell etc.) i wish to remove or exclude. I also don’t wish to depend on any other column or cell value to filter rows with ORANGE colour cell  I WANT to remove / exclude entire ROW that has yellow colour in cell in Column NCR Ref

Hi everyone,i try to import an Auxiliary trail created in Smallworld to FME for further intersections with different smallworld objects (using the SBS Plugin). Unfortunately it seems that FME cannot read the XML file correctly as i cant see any geometries. I used the XML (Extensible Markup Language) reader but maybe another reader might be better? or might a writer be useful to extract the geometries? I attached the XML file an hope that somebody has an idea what to do. Thank you!

Hi.I have a problem where I have a local counter (_count) that adds a counter to each feature that passes through. I also have a list of numbers I want the counter to ignore. Eg 1 to 10,000 but ignore the 244 numbers in my _ignoreList, which is dynamically created. 1,2,3...39,40,42 (ignore 41 because its in my list)Any ideas on how I would go about this?All help is greatly appreciated.Regards, Paul

Hello ,I am checking duplicate consecutive points It is clear that issue locations port show one vertex of duplicate point with coordinates (x,y).i would like to know the two vertex that duplicated then  I choose one of them to cancel .but it show me only one vertex .How could I achieve it ? FME 2021 

Can anyone help me, I am going to build an indoor 3D model in FME through CAD floor plan, when I import the CAD drawing into FME and execute the stretch command, open the inspector I find the coordinates, and find that the values related to the coordinates are all 0, and the coordinate system is also the location, in addition, after finally converting the CAD file to CityGml format, I opened it with Notepad and found that it was all null values, how to solve it

Hi Everyone I see that there is a .bcf writer available in fme:https://docs.safe.com/fme/html/FME_Desktop_Documentation/FME_ReadersWriters/bcf/bcf.htm The documentation mentions that .png "snapshots" should be created for the writer. To my knowledge I have not seen any way to take images from fmes workbench viewer or inspector, therefore I assume you will have to create your own pngs for this.. Has anyone had a go at trying to write .bcfs in FME? I would love to see some best practices or how tos for this writer. RegardsFred RegardsFred

I am basically doing AttributeValidation but am looking to find values that are blank or empty. Looks like I can't look for blanks or empty's within the AttributeValidation transformer. So, right now I have a testFilter that is checking each field if it is blank or empty. I am using a TestFilter because then I can specify each of the fields that I want to be checked. The problem is that if one record goes through the tester and on the first test we find out that field is blank, then I believe that same record will not go through the rest of the tests. I need to know each field is blank, not just the first one. I am looking for a suggestions on how to do this efficiently. I am basically running a QC process on a large dataset. We have a bunch of business rules that need to be followed. So I am setting FME up to check all those rules. If a rule is broken, then an email will be sent to the person that introduced the error and then they can go back and fix the error. So this one st

Hello,I generate a data pool from various data sources with identical attributes, which I filter and sort using various criteria. From these results I create several lists (Top50), which I output in an Excel table with the XLS writer. In principle, this works well, but I would like to insert a blank line between the output lists or output the lists from a certain line in the Excel sheet.I tried to integrate this blank line into the list using a new entry, but only managed to do this using the Python caller, which I wanted to avoid. If the list did not contain 50 elements, I did not manage to output the second list in a specific line again.My question now is, how can I start the output of the N.th list on the 55th line (without using the Pythoncaller. Furthermore, I have not found a way to output a list in the 55th row in column K. Is there a possibility for this in FME?Thank you very muchTranslated with DeepL.com (free version)

I have a flow based around a main SQLExecutor that runs of different levels of aggregation depending on the input parameters, and the most conveinient and efficient way of doing that is to add or remove parts from my SQL query based on said parameters. While the problem looks simple on its face, I have not been able to find a good solution for that.As evidenced by the following thread, FME doesn’t have a function for this kind of conditional string substitution. The best it has is the ternary operator.However, said ternary operator is only supported in the Math Editor, not the Text Editor that SQLExecutor uses. There will be basically 2 paths that the user can go, interior or exterior maps, and features (door points, fire alarms, bike racks, etc) can be chosen to be turned on and shown in each map. This data all lives in an ever evolving SDE. And my idea is that all the parameters the user picks will be building an ArcPy script that is manipulating an ArcPro project.I’m laying out the base plan now, and would like to gather some ideas/input before starting off.Here’s an example of what I want this service to do, and my initial thoughts of going about it:Basically the user selections from the parameters will build an ArcPy scriptI will have 2 ArcPro Map projects, one for Interior, one for Exterior The user will select if they’d like to see the interior/exterior. Hi,I have a workspace to translate a Shapefile to DGN. The shp file has a attribute wich I can filter data to output in three different levels. In this levels, two of them, only have contour style, but the other one is full. When I write DGN file, the level with full style is on the top, so the other levels are hidden under this one. I've tried to put the level number in an attribute called idgs_level, but it doesn't work. I've also tried to put the level number in the writer parameteres, but doesn't work. The issue is, how can i control the order of the levels?Thanks
