Hello. I have a problem with AreaBuilder. Exactly I want to create 3D building from dgn. data with 2 layers – the first is the ground (lines) and the second is the shape of roofs (lines and shapes). I made the surface, draped roof points on it and I took coordinates. After I merged feature of points with the same x and y coordinate, I calculated height of buildings using z-coordinates and extruded them (I received vertical lines of walls). In that way I generated vector models of building. But when I am creating area of walls by AreaBuilder, one wall in each building is missing and I don't know why? The lines are still there, the AreaBuilder didn't reject anything. I’ve already checked topology and tried different options but it's still the same.It's look like that:Here is my workbench (v. 2017.0) and small part of my data.

Hi,i have use a creator for initial and a ftp caller to upload a zipfile. But if the file was uploaded from the script to the ftp-server they have randomly unspedified names without expression.Z.B. ftphJ32kWhats the problem?

I have a series of point, from each point, I would like to create a specific rectangle with height and width specified. The point provided are treated as centroid of the polygon (rectangle). Or, even better, the polygon would be in a specified angle, but this is not required...Is there a workflow for this process? Thanks!

Hi,I wish to calculate some parameters values based on tables in my database, i need the max value of the pid field. These value would then be passed to the counter transformer to start the counter off from this max value.Currently i do this by using a sql executor to calculate the values then a feature merger to add these values to the records, this how ever is very memory intensive and causing the workbench to crash.Is is possible to calculate the sql and store the value in a parameter?

HiI am brand new to FME so this is probably an easy question to answer. I have used AttributePivoter to get a sum value into the field I entered in Row Group Summary Line Descriptor. I would then like to use the value in this field in an SQL calculation using InlineQuerier in the next step, but InlineQuerier does not recognize the Def_points_Sum table field.Any ideas?Thanks

Hello,I am using a path and directory reader followed by an attribute filter on the file extension and a FeatureReader and, finally a Writer. I want to use the path_rootname as the basename for the file to be written, but the path_rootname is not available anymore after the FeatureReader (I can see it after the Attribute filter). I have exposed path_rootname in the FeatureReader Reader Parameters and under Output-Attributes to expose but if I add an Inspector after the FeatureReader, the values of path_rootname are <missing>.Would be happy about any hints!

Hi,Is it possible to set the attributes in the Feature information window so that the colors in the color will be displayed in the same color as igds_color without using the workbench? (Fme Viewer set fme_color like igds_color when input dataset) Is it possible to make a filter on attributes in the Feature information window so that we see only certain attributes in feature information windows?

Hello,I have a set of node data. Some of those nodes will have an empty attribute. I am trying to populate them (call it "config") based on previous or next feature. The condition is should be somewhere along these lines: If Feature[-1] exists AND Feature [+1] does not exist, then Config = feature[-1].ConfigAdversely, Feature[-1] does not exist AND Feature [+1] exists, then Config = feature[+1].ConfigIf both exists, then Config = feature[-1].Config. I am trying to write out the conditional statement and have adjacent feature checked. The conditions only allow for checking if an attribute is null, missing or has an empty string. I don't seem to have any option for the existence of a Feature itself. Any one have any idea how I can go about that? Thanks!

Were trying to use the REST API to upload multiple files for processing in a web application. However each file ends up in a separate directory. $(FME_DATA_REPOSITORY)/{RepositoryName}/{workspacename}.fmw/{UniqueCode}/{filename}  So when we have have tiffs (not geotiffs) and tfws, the world files are not in the same directory as the image file, and therefore are not used by the tiff reader.  Any thoughts on how to keep the auxiliary files with the main file? Unfortunately creating a zip file is not feasible.

i have a lot of areas which are exactly the same size but they have certain kind of rotations now i have to create point which is located on the down right corner with an offset of ca. 50 -x and 50 +yproblems: when i solve the polygon into points (PointVertexReplacer) not every point on the right down corner has the same IDs (vertexID)...when i set an offset the points will go other directions because of the different rotations of the areashope someone can help me thereThank you and GreetzCheersFranco

Hi, I have geometry in one Oracle table and attribute information in another which I am merging using feature merger. This works fine, the problem I then have is that I need to write to shapefile and it truncates fields to 254. In one particular field there are 100+ attributes that are over 2000 characters in length. I know I can use substring extractor to extract various lengths but does anyone know how I could ‘automatically’ create x number of attributes (each less than 254 characters) so that I would have 10 attributes of 254 length etc. that would make up 2,540 characters? Thanks

Hi,I have a IFC file that I want to use for a transformation. It has correct latitude and longitude values, but missing elevation values. I wanted to update the elevation value by using the AttributeValueMapper on the IFCSite class and giving it a fixed value for the RefElevation attribute. But strangely, after the transformation, not only the value for RefElevation is missing, but the values for latitude and longitude are gone, too. What am I doing wrong? I would be grateful for any help you are able to provide.

Hi,I tried to optimize an existing workflow by replacing all RasterCellCoercers by their PointCloud equivalent as described in:https://knowledge.safe.com/content/idea/22245/spatial-statistics-on-raster-data.htmlI however noticed that there is a small difference in the way the raster values are returnedExample: My original raster value is equal to 23.835The RasterCellCoercer returns 23.835.The PointCloedCoercer however returns a value of 23.834975...When I round these values to 2 digits I get 23.84 and 23.83, depending on the method that was used to extract the raster values.I think this has something to do with the fact that the data type of the components is changed to 'Real64', as described in the logfile:'PointCloudCoercerFactory: Converting component 'z' from type 'Real32' to 'Real64'. If this conversion is undesired, consider changing the type explicitly'Has anyone experienced a similar issue? Any suggestions on how to tackle this problem?

Hi,I have some rough shapes (donuts, polygons) that I am trying to dissolve together. I've tried the donut builder tip here https://knowledge.safe.com/questions/4487/dissolver-failure.html but the dissolving still doesn't work and produces the wrong output  

It is a large data set. If there are no values, I want to send the data to a writer, if there are any values, I want to go to the terminator. My issue is that the data set is large and using a tester or attributeValidator isn't work because values are getting to my writer before validation is complete.

I have my SDE destination schema in a file. But I don't see any parameter for Attribute Name Column Alias. So I'm guessing there's no easy way to assign Attribute name aliases. If I'm wrong, would love to learn how to do this.

Hi folks !I want to read HTTP tables for a bunch of url stored on an attribute of my features. However, a basic authentification is needed to access the page.If I set the attribute containing the URL in the source dataset of the feature reader, I cant set any authentification parameters.Everything is working fine if I manually enter one url, then go to the parameters. (as if I use a Reader)Any clue on how to use this authentification in the FeatureReader ?

Good morning!Today my FME Desktop 2017.0 has given me the following error while running a Workspace:It doesn't start at all. Not even the log is written.This is a workflow to update several metadata XML files. For the ID of those metadata I have used "fme_(type_of_metadata)". For the ATOM service and the Dataset metadata is working fine, but with the view service metadata always gives me the error from the pic.If I change the metadata ID to something else, the workspace runs without issue. So it seems I have hit some restricted words for the "metadat_id" variable value.Is there any place in the documentation where I could check which words we are forbidden to use?Thanks!

Hi, I've literally just started experimenting with FME. When I run, it says that the translation was successful. But it doesn't seem to create output. I get a "The source file isn't valid" error when I open the inspector, and when I browse to the folder there's no output file. I'm trying to convert a DGN to Esri shapefile, and I've literally just been following the steps on an online tutorial, and I've used their datafile, and my own. With both input files, I get the same error. Do I have to change something in my general FME settings, or are the settings on my PC the issue?
