Count number Points in a Polygon

Hi, I am still new in FME. and I want to count the number of points in a polygon and results should show number of points via the polygon ID   my database are all in shapefiles and have same coordinate systemPolygonNumber of points insideRegion 125Region 265if someone can please post a step by step that would be highly appreciated. thanksLex

Shp attributes as input to raster mosaicker

I have a shp of a tile grid and a folder than contains thousands of tif's. Each grid square in the shp has an attribute that contains the name of it's corresponding tif. How can I use this attribute to only select it's corresponding tif in the folder to either:1. copy the tif to a new folder (file copy writer)or2. use as input to the raster mosaickerI can concatenate a string to build up the full path of the tif in the folder. Do I pass this list to what?

Adding previous month name to output filename (python)

I am looking for a way to add the previous months name to the filename of an output Excel e.g. Filename_August.xlsx.I have been trying to do this with Python (I am a Python beginner) as a Private Parameter using the following:from datetime import date, timedeltafirst_day_of_this_month = date.today().replace(day=1) last_day_prev_month = first_day_of_this_month –timedelta(days=1) prev_month_name = last_day_prev_month.strftime(“%B”) print prev_month_nameThis works in python but it fails in FME.Any ideas?

Can I let FME Desktop use Resources over Hadoop?

Hello everybody!  I'm asking, if it is possible to use a Hadoop Distribution on FME Desktop's work. On one side, for storing input and output files but more importantly for sharing the cpu-usage of a translation into multiple Hadoop tasks on multiple Computers. I'm working on a project right now where the tranlation with 100.000 lines takes about 45 minutes. I can only imagine the time it will need on about 1.200.000.000 lines if I'm computing it on a single computer.  Thanks for reading!  PS So far I'm only working on FME Desktop, I watched some Youtube Videos about FME Server and could imagine that it could work with Hadoop quiet well.

FME 2016 DateFormatter failed to handle some invalid date attribute?

Hi! I am using FME 2016 DateFormatter to process a field that some time will contain invalid text. I configured the DateFormatter to only process text in a specific format, but give the same text output to all other input formats.However, the DateFormatter will crash the FME for input of some specific input. The screenshot below shows the configuration I uses in DateFormatter and the error message. The input field value is "8 a.m." without quote. The other inputs such as "between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m." will also crash the FME execution. More details:if I input some other "nicer" random text such as "sldfjsldfj", the DateFormatter will successfully return "some text" as configured.if I change the Source Date Format configuration to "Auto-Detection", "some text" will also be returned.Attached is my test FME script.My guess is, DateFormatter is unfortunately tricked by some specific text when it attempt to parse the input.

Hi All,  simple Questionhow can I create station points in FME? i have a line object (shape and in one attribute the measure length) and i want create station points every 100m (for example) which have an attribute with measurement (for example 100....200......300 and so on)  Thank you Franco

XSLTProcessor - format retention?

Hi SafeI've been experimenting with the XSLTProcessor and transforming a XSL derived document to Word format. All the information comes across to the Word doc however the formatting of text (eg, font size, font color, font type), page margins, (table) column widths and some other document elements are not retained. Does the XSLTProcessor honor the formatting elements associated with XSL or in-line HTML formatting? - there's very little information associated with the XSLTProcessor 'Help'ThanksConch

FME Cloud receiving email when paused

Looking for some confirmation here:If I have set up a publication in FME Cloud to use the built-in SMTP email and send an email to it while it's paused it never gets delivered and thus the associated workspace never gets triggered, correct?

Instead of adding a shutdown python script, is it possible to call a python script when the translation has completed?

I have developed some python scripts to be run when translations are completed. I developed these in PythonWin. I've been pasting the text of these scripts into the "Shutdown Python Script" area under Workspace parameters. Can I call the scripts instead?

BlueCielo Meridian reader/writer

I know that there is currently a Bentley ProjectWise reader/writer in the works. Is there any plan to create a BlueCielo Meridian reader/writer as well? May be a difficult task, as many instances of Meridian are built on a proprietary object orient database called Hypertrieve. Maybe some clever user can come up with some custom transformers to access the Meridian api...

WebSockets for FME Server (cloud), WebSocketSender: Failed to perform handshake with remote host

hey folks,https://fmeserver-eval-safe-software.fmecloud.comwhen attempting to send sockets to the FME Cloud eval, it will continually fail for local host on port 7078, which makes sense, cause I am using the trail version on the cloud, anyways does anyone know of a way to connect to the sockets through FME cloud?Thanks,Doug

convert gdb to dwg

I'm a very new to FME. I'm trying to transform a geodatabase file with several items to a dwg file using the Clipper and shape file boundary. The clipping appears to be working correctly. However, each layer within the new dwg file has a copy of every object. Each layer has the same properties like color, linetype, etc.

What does it take to get a badge around here? (Friday Fun)

I was recently putting together an example of calling a third party application and wrapping it up in a custom transformer and I thought I'd share a (fun) variation I came up with to demonstrate a point.Filtering the posts on the Knowledge Center is now a little more functional than it used to be and a few of you will have noticed that the filter options build the URL to a standard format, so of course you can get FME to do that for you too. Quite a few websites use this approach and communicating with APIs is quite similar, so FME lends itself to the task very well.Given that I'm feeling pretty hard-done-by, that I did post a question on TLAPD (Talk Like a Pirate Day for those land-lubbers out there) and yet I still wasn't granted a "special" Pirate Chief badge. FME Server Schedule visibility

Hello FME Community:When I create a new 'Author' role level user and grant it ability to access the Schedules page, the user is actually able to see the schedules created by all other users including Admin, from repositories that it should not have access to. When I click into one such scheduled task, some fields will be blank (due to no access), and the scheduled task details look 'incomplete'. It appears to be able to click on "Ok" and I'm not sure if that means it'll try to save the Schedule.I think it'd make more sense if a non-Admin user does not see schedules that it does not own, or at least have the ability to differentiate them and definitely not have the ability to click into them by accident. Or, if this is something that can be resolved by better configuration of the roles, please advise. I have been unable to find this in the Security tab.Thanks! Ray

allowing users to map attributes

So the scenario is: I have an SDE featureclass with attributes A,B,C. User has shapefile with attributes A,bob,C,D. I want to create a workspace to be run on FME server that will allow the user to map one, many, or none of the fields. I'm not sure how to go about this. I also want to map the matched ones so the users will only have to match the remaining, but still give them the option to change the mapped one if they so choose. Thanks.

FME Server Schedules - number limit

Hello,  FME Server only seems to display a maximum of 100 scheduled tasks. We've got more than 100 defined so some are missing - is there any way to access these in the backend to edit them?  Thanks,  Peter.
