I would like to change the name of my data download zip (FME_xxxxxxx.zip) to something else. There is a transformer that does an operation similar to the repair geometry function of arctoolbox (ArcGis)?

Hi, I have a data set of lines that are part of polylines but i am missing attribute sequence. Attribute sequence is number (starting from 1) that represents order of lines for each polyline. Is it possible to add this attribute in a way that number 1 is first line of polyline, 2 second and so on? If not, how can I add this attribute regardless of position of lines in polylines?This is part of my data set. First column is ID of line and third one is ID of polyline. I need to add fourth column sequence that will have for example for polyline 0 line 142 value of 1, line 7 value of 2 and line 747 value of 3.

In our environment workspace development and published server are on different systemes, therefore the workspaces have to use not-previously-known fme web connections for communication, especially submitting calls to child workspaces.After some deliberation it seems that a scripted connection parameter that reads its value(s) from a configuration file would be the ideal solution to gain the necessary indepence of runtime environments.I found https://knowledge.safe.com/articles/844/setting-up-a-workspace-to-deploy-in-production-sta.html and https://knowledge.safe.com/questions/4296/set-published-parameters-in-a-python-startup-scrip.html but cannot figure out how to use these techniques for a connection parameter

Morning,I would like to create a UUID in my workbench as a parameter and call it at various points through my workbench. The issue I have is that currently it keeps generating me a new UUID every time I call it. I am using the @UUID() function.Is there a way to populate the parameter once and persist it thoughout the workbench so I can use it in filenames, database table names etc. Many Thanks,Oliver

The TestFilter does not indicate an error (in FME 2018.1; build 18502, win64).Normally an error is indicated by a red icon on the transformer However, when I use the testfilter and something is wrong I do not see this red icon. When I look at the "TestFilter parameters window" I still don't see that something is wrong. I need the look at the "Test Conditions window" to see what is wrong. This is indicated by the red row (see image below). It would be helpful if the icon would turn red and if you could see what is wrong in the "TestFilter parameter window".Would it be possible to implement this?

Hello: I have multiple csv files that have the same number of attributes but some of the attributes have different spellings for the same attributes. Instead of adding multiple csv readers and eventually loading them into one (1) table in Oracle after some subsequent transformations, is there a way to bring the multiple files together and give the attributes the same name for the like fields?Below is a sample of what the file(s) would look like:

Hi,I'm just getting into adopting 2018 for my daily work.One thing immidiatedly annoys me in 2018, a feature that's been changed since 2017:Whenever I try to select a number of transformers inside a bookmark, using a selector rectangle, the bookmark moves !!!How do I turn this "feature" off ?I cannot really see why this (default) behaviour has been changed. The need to select transformers in a large bookmark outweighs the need to move a bookmark by clciking in the canvas, imho. Selection inside a bookmark has almost been made annoyingly cumbersome, Ctrl-Clicks and starting the rectangle selection outside the bookmark seems to be the only options now.Does it have something to do with the new collapsable bookmarks ?Cheers

I have a dataset with a local origo. It is based on UTM 32N.  I have been supplied with the seven parameters used for transformation into regurlar UTM 32N.Reading the FME documentation, I have tried to add a custom transformation using 7PARAMETER method, but I cannot access it from FME.  The closest I get is the Csmapprojector, but it is not cooperating: I cannot use my defined transformation as the local coordinate system is not defined.  (Having the parameters for the transformation already, this should be irrelevant - as it is in other software I used before). Trying to create a custom coordsys also isn't bringing me very far.  For some reason, if I have my custom Coord I cannot see my custom transformation.  And vice versa. From my MyCoordSysDefs.fme:COORDINATE_SYSTEM_DEF CustomerLocal.UTM-32N        \   DESC_NM    "Local for customer based on UTM32N" \   SOURCE     "Customer"                           \   GROUP      Project                              \   PROJ       UTM          

Hi allI have an attribute whose values are all written in PascalCase, for example "PleaseHelpMeOutHere".I'd like to add a space at any capital letter, making a more readable string "Please Help Me Out Here". I don't need to preserve the original attribute.To make it a little more complicated, some attributes have more than one capital letter, which I'd like to preserve (except for the last capital, which denotes a new word). For example "SOSHelpMeOutHere" becomes "SOS Help Me Out Here"My guess would be that using a StringReplacer with Regex would work, but Regex is a foreign language to me. I could always use a PythonCaller, but I'd prefer to avoid that if possible. Thanks

Hi there,I've taken some tips form this thread on how to generate a PNG from my WMS layer:https://knowledge.safe.com/questions/69989/requesting-wmswfs-and-saving-as-image-in-a-file.htmlIt works pretty good but it generates a PNG containing my entire WMS layer, where I just need a specific area based on a polygon I have. I've tried using the clipper but then the PNG writer generates no output (I'm guessing the clipper is only vector based) and I'm not sure what other transformers I can use to clip my WMS data. Rasters in general is a pretty new area for me in FME.Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Hello,I am attempting to modify the "" to fit our workflow. I've got it almost working, except there seems to be a scaling issue. The primary change is that we use DGN more than DWG. The buildings, ortho and terrain are shown, but the buildings seem to be scaled differently than the orthophoto. When I output a collada file, the buildings sit where they are supposed to over the ortho. I also have a geometry issue, so I had to pipe the "rejected" output to the PDF, which worked fine, except for the scaling issue. Below is a link to the test data. I just upgraded form Oracle 2017.1 to Oracle 2018 and now I'm having issues with Oracle database connections.I get this 'ORA-12638: Credential retrieval failed' error which is solved by changing SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NTS) to SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NONE) in /oracle home/network/admin/sqlnet.ora.The thing is that after applying that solution when I execute my workspace there's this Warning line in the log:Unable to determine version of Oracle database. (serverType=`ORACLE8I', serverName=`myServerName', userName=`myUserNAme', password=`***', dbname=`').It's confusing because warnings are important in our workflow.Is there anything I can do to make FME know our database version?

I am trying to convert MS SQL server database to Oracle and all of the table and columns are lowercase and being converted with double quotes around them. Is there a way in FME to prevent this?

I'm reading an ArcSDE polygon layer (British National Grid), running it through the Aggregator, then writing to a TDE. But I get a warning in the log "TDE does not support geometry on feature". I can't see much in the way of parameters to change to try and fix this. Any ideas? FME 2018.0.1.0 (20180518 - Build 18310 - WIN64)

Does the FME preserve network flow direction when reading and writing features that are part of a geometric network?   I'm trying to setup a workbench to push updates from one SDE to another.  The feature classes I'm trying to update are part of a geometric network and the flow direction that has been setup in the source database is something I want to be available in the destination database.  Unfortunatley, during my test the flow direction I set in the source data did not come over to the destination data.  Instead the line had indeterminant flow.  I'm using ArcSDE Geodatabase  readers and writers, and the feature type is setup as complex_edge and simple_junction(same as what is defined in my SDE).  Is there something I'm forgetting to configure?  Here's how I setup a simple test:  -Create a feature dataset in SDE -Create a line feature class and a point feature class in that SDE -Create a geometric network in the dataset that includes the point and line layers.

Hello,I need to merge attributes of polygon to polyline that contains that polyline (polygon can contain whole polyline or just one part of it) I am using SpatialRelator with test Requestor contains Supplier as shown in image below.Problem i have is that this test merges attributes from polygons that only contains start point of polyline. Is there any other way to merge these two features? In case that polyline goes over more than one polygon it's enough to merge attributes from any of containing polygons. Blue line is polyline. With SpatialRelator polyline gets attributes of polygon 2353 but it needs to get attributes of polygon 28 or 30.

I am having an issue getting attributes from a custom transformer output exposed in the main workspace.The output in question was added after the custom transformer was created, but appears to me to be all in order. The Population_Base output exposes it's attributes correctly while the Meshblock_Base output doesn't. Here is an image of the Meshblock_Base properties.And finally what it looks like on the Main workspace.I can't figure out why these 2 attributes are not being exposed.Am I missing something obvious, or is there something fishy going on?I am using FME 2018.0 32 bit.

I am using FME 2017 and would like to carry out a relatively simple geoprocessing task. I have DEM TIF tiles and DOM TIF tiles in 2 different directories which both have the same names and the same extents. I would like to subtract the DEM from the DOM for each tile and save the new tile in a 3rd directory named "NORMALIZED".So my process is simply the following:1. Iterate through Directory "DOM" and for each filename find and subtract the same file in directory "DEM". 2. Save the result in Directory "NORMALIZED" How would I achieve this?
