I am having a problem lately with DB connection issues. I tried looking for cases related to "QSConnectionLostConnection" but this seems to be undocumented. There's 2 scenarios where this issue occurs. I'm not sure if they're related but they share some commonalities:They seem to only occurr on the secondary server host, "alttrans02".They occur at different points of the translation.The problem is gone when re-running the translation. 1. Reading from DB: Please refer to job_20627 and job_21289 logs.These end in failure but under FME Server console, it's still "running" and I have to manually cancel them. If the job is still "running" and I rerun the translation, the second job also fails at the same spot in the translation and ends up in the same "running" status.I only have server logs for the second job - please see ALTTRANS01_fmeserver_2018-09-27_064438.2. I need to update 5184 rows in a Postgres table. These lines have a code and this code is linked directly to another table that uses this code. What would be the best way to update table 1 and after this update, update table 2 using the code I updated in table 1?Thank you

I have a CSV file as a source to Reader with multiple fields/datatypes but there are some invalid records in it. Is there any translator to remove the invalid records before writing it to destination dataset. By Invalid records i mean - Mismatch in datatype, datalength.

Why the aggregated feature is "OGC Simple Compliant"?First CREATOR generates a box POLYGON(0 0 10 0 10 10 8 10 0 10 0 0) and the second one a triangle (POLYGON(0 10 5 13 8 10 0 10)). I think I missunderstood the meaning of "OGC Simple". (the opposite of a complex feature?). It seems that "simple" doesn´t imply "valid".Workspace: Thanks in advance.

I have been using the HTMLReportGenerator for a while and it has come to my attention that the JavaScript framework that it is based on has been updated a number of times. Is there an ETA for when FME will incorporate these updates into its model? The version that FME uses right now is 1.0.2, and the current version is 2.7.2, as of the 28th of Aug, 2018. It has changed so much, that I cannot even use the string transformers to pull the data variable to use on my own charts without major restructuring. Does anybody know if this will be updated soon?

FME Desktop 2017.1 build17725When I create a simple Dynamic Workflow from shape to shape, everything works fine.When I put the BulkAttributeRenamer to the Workspace, the results are weird.I like to have all attribute names lowercase.Instead, attribute names remain capital, but all my data is lost in the output...Is that a known issue?

Morning all,  I am loading a set of shapefiles into a PostGIS database using a shapefile reader and a PostGIS writer. If I accept the default workbench created by FME the data gets written to the public schema.  Where/how can I set the schema in the writer that I actually want the data written to?  Probably a simple solution...  FME Desktop 2012 sp3 and PostgreSQL 9.1 with PostGIS 2.0  Thanks

Hey all,I'm just recently working with FME. We are using fme for converting xyz pointclouds to geotiff format. Converting is not longer a problem (thanks to the fast help here).But now i'm looking how i can set a boundrie for the geotiff. (drawn in blue) As you will see in picture i have added here the geotiff also gives elevation where there is no data. (blue circle).I know that in C3D i can set a boundrie for the geotiff or give a max triangle length(witch is not the best solution but also works for this problem). Is there anything like that possible in FME? Many thanks,Koen

Hi,I'm trying to wirte to a SDE database with postgres arcitechture. I've filled in all the parameters and I get this error message: An error occurred while attempting to open the table, feature class or relationship class 'datasetname.featureclassname'. The error number from ArcObjects is: '-2147467263'. The error message from ArcObjects is: {}What a lovely error message from ArcObjects, right..Has anyone experienced this, and know what can be the fault?Ps: I couldn't find the error number here: http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/arcobjects-java/api/arcobjects/constant-values.html

On the safe software site, I realize that there are only 64-bit FME products for Linux. I have a 32bit oracle database and obviously use a 32bit client. How will this linux FME enable the Oracle reader?

have used this workspace to convert cad to shapefile , i want to get a closed polygons as the cad file was lines , so i tried to use area builder to get it , so if worked on the blocks its ok , but if i want parcels i get it not clear like these images 1- is the workspace that i used to solve the topology and build area with the lines 2- the result 3- first workspace that i used and there was no result because of topology.. can any one help getting the result same as the source at least the geometery and i will take the text layers after

Good afternoon all, I'm trying to create a large nested JSON document from SQL to load into MongoDB. Currently I have managed to create the JSON file but i'm not able to load it into Mongo based on the size of the documents. The maximum size for documents is 16MB while my average document size is over 50MB. A solution I have thought of is to bucket each of the sub files so that instead of thousands of documents being embedded into each root there is a maximum limit of say 500 and then a new document is created with the same root, but a continuation of the Sub documents. In the end instead of a single 50MB document I would be left with say 10 identical documents that would hold different Sub documents from one another. I could then query the set of 10 documents using $unwind so that it treated them as a single document of sorts. Does anyone know of a way to achieve this within FME Workbench instead of loading all sub documents into a root?

I have a need to sample 10% of a data set. I use the Counter and then the Statistics Calculator to get the total record count. From there, the Expression Evaluator is used to multiply that total count by 10% (setting to a whole number). The Variable Setter then sets that value to a variable. The variable is used for the N input on the Sampler. I do not get an error, but no records are output from Sampler. I have confirmed there is a value in that variable (using eh Variable Retriever). Enclosed are the details. Any suggestions?

I have xml data (see attached). I'm trying to get the following result from this data:ID= 9328Buffer PH = 6.39BS_CA = 68.2and so on. I have no issues flattening the data, my problem is that the "buffer PH" for example needs to be an column with value of 6.39 as the data. But with the way the xml is set up the basic flattening gives me a feature for every <Data/> tag. I can use the transposer, but then I lose other info related to that sample. This particular xml only has one sample, but there can be multiple samples.
