Is there a generic way to extract the feature count for each feature type in the writer? For example, I would like to capture this information either in the same workspace, or from the log file's Feature Written Summary section. I would like to capture this info for each updated feature type to a central location for review and reporting. Most of our FME processes are running on FME server.

Hi,I use FeatureWriters in FME Workbench 2017 for inserting datasets in Postgres.But when there are errors in my input data, like a string instead a boolean value, the row is not written in Postgres but FME doesn't detect the error, the row is counted like a correct insert and I have the message "Translation was successfull" at the end. Of course, I could use AttributeValidators to detect such errors but I have a lot of fields and I wouldd like to avoid to inspect each field. Thanks in advance for any help,Christian

Hi.I have been assigned the task of importing 4000+ images from a remote service into a local Postgres database. An obvious FME task.Fetching the images with ImageFetcher runs smoothly, but here starts my problems:- I need to store the MIME type, but although ImageFetcher is set to auto-detect this, it never reveals it in the output. And no file extension is available, and no other transformer offers that service, so an improvement to ImageFetcher is warranted, I think.- I need to store the image in a text column in base64 format, but a combination of GeometryExtractor (FME Binary) + TextEncoder (Base64) doesn't really seems to work.The output should look like this: data:image/jpeg;base64,/9j/........Is there a better way to accomplish my task ?Cheers

I'm not sure what words to use, again, to find my answer so I'm just going to ask.  I'm new to Regular Expressions, and not an FME wizard by any means  I need to, inside a loop,  take text that looks like this: (i'd like to avoid using blocking transformers if possible at this stage in my workbench)OKC1D,790 [55559]|OKC1D, 791 [272]|OKC1D, 792|OKC1D, 796|XD, 4-6 [DEAD]And make it look like this:OKC1D,790 [5559]|OKC1D, 791 [272]|OKC1D, 792 [272]|OKC1D, 796 [272]|XD, 4-6 [DEAD] With string replacers and searches I can get this:OKC1D,790 [5559]|OKC1D, 791 [272]|OKC1D, 792|OKC1D, 796|I'm able to select what's in the brackets with: (?<=\[).*?(?=\]) but I get 5559 and 272,  I need a way to select the last matched group, 272, there are cases where it may be more than 2 match groups but I think that If I can just select the last one it should work  https://rubular.com/r/r2TsFBPPy19hFO   Any regex wizards out there that may be able to help me, OR suggest a better way in FME to do what I want

Hi,I work with WFS reader with polygons and multipart polygons. So, FME ingore the multipart polygones. There is no any error message, but it imports only simply polygons. I don't understand why. Is there any parameter of the WFS reader to change?  Thanks

Hello to all forum members, I am looking for lines that have a close relationship between each other ~10 [cm]. The result is a blue line. pictures: a), b), c) it's results from the workflow: pictures: d), e) found a similar solution only the lines have a real relationship, they intersect. Transformer: LineOnLineOverlayer and finall LengthCalculator so it's easy to detect. I tested: NeighborFinder, LineDevider, Snipper, SpatialRelatorThank you for your help.

Hello FME community, I am looking for ideas/ logic to use in FME to divide an irregular polygon geometry into user defined number of polygons of equal or approximately equal area. Example: Assume an irregular polygon with total area of 180 Sq Km.The user would like to divide this irregular polygon into 6 smaller polygons of equal area. That is 30 Sq Km each.But for the spatial input for the irregular polygon to be divided and the number of smaller polygons of equal or approximately equal area desired, there will be no other inputs from the user.Looking for ideas/ logic to use in FME.ThanksSRG

Hi,I'm writing to a MapInfo extended tab, and noticed there is a delete operation on the tables. I have tested this out, and have got it to work, however the tables aren't compressing after and the deleted records are staying in the table albeit flagged for deletion. A pack of the table solves this, but cant it happen on closure of the writer?Cheers,James

Is there a way to customize the translation message after a workspace was successfully ran by the end user from the FME Server web interface? Rather than writing to a download file, I would like to just show a custom message after the translation was successful. This would be similar to how I use shut-down scripts on FME Desktop to bring up pop-up windows with statistics and information from the logfile and workspace after the translation was ran.

Can anyone help me with a fairly simple workflow with transformers I need to use? Below is a simple graphic example. I have several overlapping polygon layers and would like to extract a non-overlapping polygon layer that uses an attribute value as the hierarchy (priority) for determining how to clip the output polygon. Polygon Input: Desired output:Additionally, I'd like for the output to have the polygon source name along with output. So in the above example, the attribute table would look like:ColorValueBlue4.0Green3.0Yellow1.5Red2.5Not too worried about this addition because I figure a generate list will accomplish that part. Any help for the above would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks 

In my LAS reader I have selected fme_basename to be outputted as an attribute with the feature.In the data inspector I can see it has correctly populated this attributed with the filename of my LAS.The dropdown under DEMRaster in the ReasterDemGenerator shows that fme_basename is an attribute. However when I look in the data inspector it doesn't contain my LAS filename but instead 'RasterDEMGenerator'Is this correct? I was going to read multiple LAS files and output a DEM for each file, using the fme_basename as the filename for the DEM. Seeing it's not being carried through though I've had to create a user parameter and process one file at a time now. Thanks in advance.

Just going through the motions of upgrading an FME Cloud instance and I'm looking for a way to migrate the job history into a new instance. I know, however, that this isn't supported with the backup and that some db work is required (https://knowledge.safe.com/articles/816/fme-server-job-history.html) The problem is that I can't seem to access the fmeserver schema.   My work around will be to use the REST API to get the data and create my own job history table but I would rather avoid that if possible. Am I missing something here?

Hello,Does anyone have experience automating the download of data packages from the BC Data Catalogue (https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset?download_audience=Public)? There are dozens of provincial datasets I would like to automate the download of on a weekly basis to keep the data updated for my organization, the problem is that they require submitting a AOI (or mapsheet) and an email before receiving the zipped data package in an email.Thanks! 

While converting from 3DS to CityGML, I am not able to get layer by layer information on the GML file. The 3DS file got 7 layers but the GML file Just got one object. How can I solve this?

I'm trying to create a workspace to create a XML file from an excel-report (Sample) and an excelfile containg some other information (Blad1). However I'm running in to issues with the encoding of the created file. It seems like textwriter is not able to output UTF-8 encoded characters (input contains Swedish characters like åäö). Trying to understand where in the process this gets wierdly formatted but loggers seem to show the right characters.  When I exchange these characters manually in the output XML file the validationservice I'm using is working. Anyone who can point out how to fix this? Kind regards. 

Hi,Apparently (this is new to me too) the ESRI Shape definition has been expanded with a "code page file" (*.cpg), which contains the "code page" of the table structure, i.e. field names.I've just received such a data set, but FME doesn't seem to recognize this extension. My field names end up as un-decoded UTF-8 string, e.g. "ByggeÃ¥r" instead of "Byggeår".Is it possible to have FME (2017.1) recognize this extension, or if not, are there any plans to do so ?Cheers

Sometimes I really need to use a Group By in a transformer, but the parameter is not available. Is there anyway I can hack it?

want to do something like this in FME Original Table Age  Number 0-10 5 10-20 10 20-30 230 plus  4 Create new attribute with range values or group values in Name field by ranges. The only way I can think of is to use Attribute Creator and use conditions to set up each category range. I am hoping there is an easier way of doing this. Lee!

I am using FME 2014 in order to manipulate some shape files. When I load and inspect the content of the shapes file, I get the following problem:  Although all the greek characters of the content is shown correctly (in UTF-8), the titles of each column (seeing in data inspector) are not recognized. A similar problem I had some time ago with an excel file which had content in greek. In that case also I could see the content of the excel cells but I could see the names of the tabs (sheets). Back then it was enough to rename the sheets to latin characters but now I don't have this luxury (some hundreds of shape files).  What is the issue here? Is there some internal encoding properties in FME? I see I have the same problem in FME 2015.  Moreover, I try to import a shapefile with greek characters and FME can not read it correctly. In the directory field it shows question marks instead of greek characters and its impossible to load it!
