In the parameters of the oData Reader a Web Connection can be specified for authentication. But there is no Web Service for oData Services. HTTP authentication can be used, but there are options for oData, for example using an apikey
The option to send header options in the oData reader is missing. Similar to the headers option in HTTPCaller, authentication to an oData service can be done via an apikey. This option is missing in the oData Reader
Hi community team,I was on another community forum (cesium) and saw something which I thought was nice. Along with various activity metrics on community questions - One of the columns they have shows at a glance who has replied to a post. I thought this this would be pretty helpful for users browsing posts. If a question in the FME community already has an answer it's hard to judge if the answer is just a follow up from the original poster or an answer which answers the question. If, however, you can see at a glance that the answer has come from a top community member or members then you don't need to click in to check because you can trust that a good answer has been provided.
Simple: Remove all attributes for which all rows are empty/null/missing/...Better: List all attributes for which all rows are empty and allow selection of which ones to remove.This would really help to reduce the number of columns when normalizing data sets from various sources. My continuous need is for normalizing addresses from various county, city and open sources.When you have a couple hundred thousand rows, it is hard to figure out which attributes actually add value via the AttributeRemover or AttributeKeeper.
It would be really useful to get FTPCaller to rename a remote file.Common task is to rename the remote file by adding a .DONE file extension once FTP Download is complete.I'm of course using different methods and preferred one is PowerShell.

Since the complete FME Desktop and FME Server installation is huge, it would be great to be able to do incremental upgrades - only downloading the needed changes from build version X to build version Y....
This is related to FME and BIM. This article describes how you can take geometry in FME and pull it into Dynamo so that it can then be generated in Revit perhaps: https://community.safe.com/s/article/integrating-fme-into-dynamo-for-revitHowever I think this workflow is very limited and probably not something we would really use. Why? Because we can import DWGs directly into Revit. Sure, there might be things you'd want to do in Dynamo so perhaps this example is just not indicative of a true use-case. What would be REALLY useful is having FME run inside Revit, like McNeel is doing with Rhino, which allows Grasshopper to control things in Revit (https://www.rhino3d.com/inside/revit/1.0/). It would be great to have the ability to create geometry or read data in FME and place associated geometry or families etc. in Revit, either completely outside of Dynamo (which is a painful software to use compared to FME), or at least via more simplified FME nodes in Dynamo. Lots of room for improvement exists in this area! Ex:Read external data, create geometry (FME can do all this), then place families in Revit based on some sort of mappingJust like Dynamo is able to control Revit via the API, maybe have a set of transformers that can actually do the same while there are both an active session of FME and Revit running (the idea of "FME.Inside")
FME server currently supports importing and authenticating Azure Active Direcory (AAD) users. Would it be possible to also authenticate AAD guest users?
It would be great to be able to keep the configuration associated with an FME Cloud instance (alerts, security rules, events) when upgrading the instance. Some kind of backup&restore so you can recreate the configuration in the upgraded instance or just as a template for other instances.

I'd like it to be easier to find a certain workspace published on the FME Server. There's a search function on the fmeserver/repositories, but it does not search the workspaces, just the repo name... Please extend the search to include all the containing workspace names too.
The ability to connect to the Azurite emulator for the Azure Storage. This would allow for users to use the local emulator to development and testing purposes.
Currently FME can read 12dxml file format (.12dxml), but cannot directly read the zipped version of this file (.12dxmlz).This is similar to the difference between a Google Earth KML file and a KMZ file. A current work around is the routine can have a user parameter for file name, it starts with a creator, uses the "ZipExtractorAnyExtension" from FME hub to extract the file, then the file path can be used in a feature reader with the format set to 12dxml. There are two issues with the workaround - it requires a user parameter to be setup within the routine, and it requires unzipping the file contents to a folder prior to being usable in the routine. 12dxml files can be large compared to 12dxmlz (7mb vs 206kb) so file size is significant, especially when 12dxmlz files get into 100mb's+.That is why a dedicated 12dxmlz reader would be great.
The SurfaceFootprintReplacer is an excellent tool, it produces nice clean results and is a nice clean result especially when compared to the 2DForcer. But it would be really nice to have the option to keep the holes instead of producing more of a dissolved result.

The "Autodesk AutoCAD DWG/DXF" reader just inform that the AutoCAD Reader: Entity type of 'RText' found, but not supported. Skipping entityThe "Autodesk Autodesk AutoCAD RealDWG DWG/DXF" reader reads the RTEXT entities as proxy entities but with no attribute information that these entities are RTEXT entities. (if you have the parameter "Read Proxy Entity Graphics" turned on you get a bounding box and two crossing lines as geometries for each RTEXT entity)As FME is widely used to make the quality control for these DWG-files we really need support for reading RTEXT entities.
There are ways to determine if a job is being run on FME Desktop or FME Server, however, many of them simple, however, they tend to feel hacky and are not always obvious. It would be great if there was an FME specific variable (one of these) that we can use to distinguish between FME Server and FME desktop. There are a lot of reasons why you might want to have this kind of parameter available. Perhaps on FME desktop you want to use a configured emailer transformer to send and email but on FME Server you have the workspace configured to send out on success and dont need/want the emailer. Perhaps on FME Server you want the job to trigger an FMEServerJobSubmitter to kick of the next part of a worksapce chain, but on Desktop you don't - or instead want to route it to a WorkspaceRunner.Perhaps on Desktop you want data to be read from one database and on server from another
It would be nice if we could apply varying 3d affine transformation and not just 2d. Like the 3DAffiner but with parameters from a set of vectors, if possible with rubbersheeting approach.
You can set a default job queue for each repository in FME-Server.Before version v2021 there was a choice list in every row of the repository listing to manage that.This was removed for some reason with v2021. Now you need to change this setting by selecting a repository and use the "edit" button.Downside of this solution is: you have no overview.I suggest to add (at least) a read-only column "Job Queue" to the repository listing.

With a workspace that includes many transformers, the ability to remember the map's current zoom and centre coordinates.The current behaviour is unpredictable. Clicking a magnifying glass displays the map and the current selection. Clicking on a different magnifying glass in the same transformer moves the map to a new location.
