PDF reader does not extract any information from digital signature. This feature would be super nice for different kinds of archiving processes.
We are trying to connect to a PI database from OSIsoft and use tables for join to GIS geometry. I know PI can go into a SQL server but we dont have that set up so have to go directly into their database. I dont see any readers for this format. Has any user been able to connect to the PI backend datasets with FME? Any help would be great, thanks.
Add the capability to search for columns and values in the Feature Information window in Data Inspector.
Hello,I think it's time for the SpatialRelator to get a well deserved upgrade to work with 3D surfaces and solids. I would love to use FME for our daily BIM workflows, but get frequently frustrated because all the spatial join tools are obviously designed with 2D in mind.8/10 of all my BIM workflows are just about 3D containers:Generate container objects for rooms, grids, sectors, levels, buildings.Collects all non container objects using containers.Assign container ids for relations.etc.Please, dear FME gods...Basically just a mesh/mesh collision test.Needs a tolerance.A speed/quality setting would be amazing.I know, I can work around this by using a CenterPointReplacer with a Clipper for an inclusion test, or by reducing the problem to a 2D plane, but a mesh/mesh test is way better. So many possiblities...
To speed up work, with cartographic base, you do have to draw areas on an existing cartography. Using the PDF annotations, they could be exported as well as the rest of the information. To this day you can not export the annotations created with the adobe. thank you
Would it be possible to add a refresh button to the FME server job submitter so that when a workspace is republished to FME cloud with additional parameters, you don't have to re-map every parameter in the workspace.Currently to update the transformer you must select a different workspace before going back to the one you wish to update and then re-map all of the parameters.
When I leave the PythonCaller unintended with the Cancel button or with the Esc key and I have done a lot of programming, everything is lost.It would be great, if FME asks me if I want to save the unsaved changes in the PythonCaller.
Currently it is rather cumbersome to manipulate schema features using the attribute{} list to e.g. remove or rename attributes. It would be great if e.g. the AttributeRemover / AttributeRenamer could auto-detect if a schema feature had entered (based on the presence of attribute{}.name) and then do its magic directly on the schema definition as well as the feature itself.
Consider adding support for Survey Figures in Civil 3D.
To be able to fully automate the FMEserver it is nescecarry to be able to create the Automations by API methods.The idea is to extract all sources and targets of all workspaces or a set of workspaces on the server.Put them in the correct order of dependency and try to parallelize as much as possible.So the FMEserver is used most efficiently.If yoou think about cloud and effincient use of Fme engines this is the most optimal configuration.
Option to choose and set glTF appearance/shading setting for Cesium 3d Tiles writerFor example, options to set metallic factors, roughness factors etc. Or option to choose if for example "KHR_materials_unlit" extension is used. Materials unlit extension would improve appearance especially for buildings with image textures. Now buildings with image textures tend to get too dark because of the shading, and changing these settings manually is time consuming and difficult.
With normal writer, You can duplicate the Feature Type. But in thenFeatureWriter, You can not do it. Sometimes, Different Featrue Type have the same attributes, just different Geometry, The duplicate function will be very useful. I hope add duplicate Feature Type to FeatureWriter.
The FeatureReader currently doesn't support a where-clause for the FILEGDB reader, although the regular FILEGDB reader does. It would be great if the FeatureReader could also support a where-clause.See also: https://knowledge.safe.com/questions/54705/select-statement-using-file-geodb-open-api.html
It often happens that my workspace runs for a decent amount of time only to crash upon accessing the writer (e.g. the excel file I want to write to is opened by another user). It would be useful if FME checks the accessibility of all writers/featurewriters upon starting the workflow and not only when it wants to commit the result.
Hello,as I work with customers, they still more and more use MS WORD writer, so there are still more requirements to develop functionality of this writer. Two of requirements are placing text and image next to each other - so there is necessary column divider functionality. Secd requirement is placing of watermark to .docx document. Huge LandXML files takes a long time to read. Is it possible to change the readaer for LandXLM to be read as Feature Tables to speed up reading? Would be great!
I'd like traceability as to who modified what workspaces/topic assignments/etc. It would be nice to be able to see what is taking place in an FME Server. Especially a production instance.
From FME2018.0 it is possible to collapse bookmarks. Maybe it is an idea as well to collapse annotations into an icon. It would be nice if you could choose between two or three different icons, for example an exclamation mark, a question mark and a ligthbulb. The different icons (maybe it should be possible to manually add them) can be you used to distinguish between the type of annotation
ShortestPathFinder can currently handle either one-way or two-way streets, but it doesn't handle a mixed network well. Setting Cost Type to "By Two Attributes" and setting the reverse cost to a large number for one-way streets works as a workaround, but it's not very elegant and not foolproof. It would be great if we could indicate that a street is one-way by setting the reverse cost to negative or null.
Is it possible to add the Tolerance parameter for the Spatial Filter as well? I have some issues with the 12th decimal number in an AutoCAD file. So, I was disappointed not to find this option for this Transformer.
Apply styles to your the HTML output of the HTMLReportGenerator or other HTML before writing out via the HTML writer. This could include numeric precision, font styles, heading levels, list bullets etc.
Nowadays, FME log does not show all the information when SQLExecutor transformer is used in order to execute Oracle procedures.For example, If several procedures calls are used in the SQLExecutor, only the first three procedures calls are showed in the log. The others no. So you don´t know how the process is be going.
I like using the Databse Joiner transformer when I can but my use is limited because it doesn't have a where clause option for the database data being joined.
Similar to the 'Ignore Failed Readers' parameters, allow 'Ignore Failed Writers' but allow it to be selectively enabled. In instances where a non-crucial writer (eg. for tracking purposes) fails to write for reasons unrelated to features (eg. if the file written to is opened by another user), this would allow the workspace to continue running.
