GML LOD2 To point cloud

I’m at working on matching indoor point cloud data to gml LOD2 data using ICP so I want to transform my gml data to a point cloud data to help ease the matching. Can anyone please help me? question is how do I transform GML LOD2 to point cloud data? also if there are other suggestions to complete this task. Thank you

Artiificially creating polygons

Hello Forum, Is it possible to artificially create a polygon based on the lower edge of an existing polygon? Imagine I have an existing polygon, I’d then want to create a new polygon that snaps to the lower edge of the existing polygon. The depth of that polygon doesn’t matter, for example it could just be roughly 50 metres away from the shared boundary. What really matters is that is snaps to the lower edge of the existing polygon. An alternative approach could be that the artificially created polygon is a doughnut polygon which wraps around the existing polygon to say, a depth of 50 metres. I could then split it manually where required… I hope this makes sense. Any ideas? Thanks,Stuart

In the exercise: "Add Appearances to a 3D City Model" I have a problem with the "AppearanceSetter" transformer because I cannot get the colors in the buildings in the PDF output, as described by Liz Sanderson. I always get them in RED in both cases, namely: "AppearancesRed" and "AppearancesBlue". Today I'm breaking my rule of never manually (or automatically) editing a workspace file, in order to dynamically update a choice-type user parameter.Question of the WeekThis question was asked by @philippeb who needs to send a list of names to a survey choice field. Q) Our employees fill a weekly survey about their health and their kids going to summer camp activities.The survey [fields] change in time, depending on the kids that subscribed. The subscribed kids are exported into an Excel file every week. I thought to read the file with FME and push the kids into the survey every week. That way the list of kids in the survey could change without our help. And the kid (or his parent) could select his name to fill the survey.The issue is that we don't know any survey platform able to change automatically from a script. Transform values from an attribute into a list

Hi, I need help. I have an attribute column X with string values ‘S001’, ‘S002’, ‘S003’, and ‘S004’, all lined up in 1 column with 4 rows corresponding to the string values. I would like the output Y should to be a single row list, having just one column and one row, containing the four values:Y = (‘S001’, ‘S002’, ‘S003’, ‘S004’) Could you please advise how this could be done in FME Form. Connect to SQL Server 2000 (!)

Hi, got a question from a client yesterday who wants (with FME2018.1) to connect to a SQL Server 2000 database (no the question is not from a museum: ).FME returns a Fetching Feature Types Error, "... SQL Server Native Client 11.0 does not support connections to SQL Server 2000 or earlier versions".Any ideas the minimum hazzle to get around here? Just to install the SQL Server native client 9.00 and problem solved? I do not have an environment for testing this myself :/ cheers

Hi,I am trying to request information from FMEflow with an httpcaller. I have created a temporary token that allows everything. If I include the token in the URL, the request works fine. (https://<...?/v3/info?fmetoken=abcdefg...)When I put the token in the httpcaller I get a 401 warning. What goes wrong in the caller?

Apache Parquer Writer does not write DateTime columns properly

Hi community, I am using FME Workbench 2024.1 to create parquet files. Those files contain DateTime columns. It seems as those DateTime columns are missing a codec flag in order to enable the loading in other software (Dremio in my user case). How to work properly with CoG's?

Currently I have 23 CoG’s in an Azure Blob container and I want to retrieve only the area of those CoG’s covered by a rectangle that I use as the initiator for a FeatureReader.Unfortunately, the FeatureReader is reading first all the CoG’s in before making the decision where the bounding box is within, and then it returns the entire CoG, where I was rather expecting it would return the part the bounding box is covering.The CoG’s originate from the Copernicus DEM coverage GLO-30, contain overviews, etc…It takes almost 3 minutes for the FeatureReader to process the request. The bounding box is within a single CoG.When looking at the parameters for the COG reader, then I can see there is actually the possibility to set a search envelope. I could feed the bounding box to the envelope, which sadly is missing in the FeatureReader. Is there a way to speed things up? I only want to have the parts of the COG’s covered by the bounding box used as initiator, basically performing a range request.

Can FME Write ArcGIS Enterprise Attachments

Hi Everyone, Looking for some assistance, I’m using FME 2023.1.0.0 trying to migrate some existing Survey-123 forms and data with attachments from ArcGIS On-Line to our new Enterprise portal.Our survey-123 form has a singular photos field for tracking a picture of the bus stop, it also has a repeatable photo’s field (table) where the inspector is able to take and attach multiple deficiency photos to the stop if one exists. In FME, I’m able to read in the AGOL feature service that hosts all of the survey information, I’m also able to write out the tabular information from the point layer to the new Enterprise feature layer that was created when I saved the Survey-123 form in Enterprise.The part that I’m currently struggling with is getting the singular photos to attach when writing the tabular information out to the Enterprise feature service so when I view the points in ArcGIS Pro, they appear in the attachments tab of the attributes editor like they currently do with my AGOL service.

Fanning out different attribute schemas to different Excel tabs

Am creating three sets of numbers from one source file. Each set has a different attribute structure. I want to fan these out into separate tabs of an Excel spreadsheet, using a created attribute that is common to the three streams, but has a different value for each. Have tried every permutation of setting I can think of in the Writer/dynamic schema defn, and cannot get it to respect the three different attribute schemas. Feels like this should be easy, but…..🤔

Logging in to new FME AR App

The new FME AR app update has introduced a login page with a URL or Barcode (see attached). Are these logins for a server app or a FME Flow instance? I cannot find any documentation on the process here. I have not been successful in logging into my FME Flow Instance or server apps so I am not sure what else the login url could be. Any help is appreciated.

Anyone who knows a way to convert STEP-files (.stp) using FME? I cannot find a reader for this format, closest one is IFC I guess. The format is ASCII-based so maybe there is some workaround using other readers/transformers?

New record added to table - notification question

I am using FME Form 2021. I have a table with vehicles listed by department. Vehicle 1234 Department 1Vehicle 4532 Department 1Vehicle 5645 Department 2Vehicle 8472 Department 3 When a new record (example: a vehicle) is added to the table, I want an email to be sent only if the new vehicle is associated with a specific department. For example, Vehicle 6577 is added to the table and is associated with Department 3; thus, an email would be sent notifying the recipient that a new vehicle has been added. However, if the vehicle is associated with Department 1, then no email would be sent. What Transformer(s) that would trigger the email do you recommend I use to achieve this? It sounds like ChangeDetector could be an option, but I am only using a single table.

REVIT TO CESIUM - Cylinder conversion error

Hello, I have a REVIT file which contains some cylindrical objects (e.g. pipes) and when I convert the model to cesium, it creates hexagonal shaped pipes instead of cylindrical ones. Is this intentional or can I bypass this behaviour somehow? NOTE: The Revit model is offset according to it's Reference Point. Also, the Data Inspector shows the cylinders correctly where it is an aggregate geometry with with many many IFMEFaces.

FME vs Python in GIS editable feature layer and Microsoft Word Template Table

Hi folks!I am torn as to what workflow to use between FME and python. I am more comfortable with FME so hopefully FME would be the winner here.The workflow I am trying to achieve for the business user is to have a GIS editable feature layer containing field summaries translate into a docx with a table template (ideally with the same attributes as the GIS feature layer).A sample of the table template in the docx is below:Any time a new field summary project gets entered into the GIS editable feature layer, ideally, a net new Word document with a separate table with populated values from the GIS editable feature layer will populate in the corresponding values in the table within the docx. FeatureWriter and Esri ArcGIS Server Feature Service with dynamic schema fails when layername contains space

I have logged a support case about my problem, but figured I might as well check to see if anyone else have encoutered this problem:I am writing a workspace to geosynchronize a Feature Service with a database. The Feature Service contains about 30 layers that need to be updated, so I have put my bet in for a dynamic workspace, since the operation is the same for every layer. This saves me a lot of transformers and makes the maintenance of the workspace much simpler.My challenge here is that both the FeatureReader and FeatureWriter requires the name of the layer to be passed in as a parameter, not the layerid, which would not be a problem. Almost all of these layers have names containing, at least, one space, and this is what is causing my trouble.On the reader side, I can enclose the layer name in double quotes, like “My Layer”, and this works without problems.On the writer side, however, things are messed up.
