Reverse Proxy configuration - Is it possible to duplicate/run a service (E.g. Data Download) with two URLs?

We're in the early stages of proposing external access to FME Server 2021.2 via a reverse proxy. I was wondering if it is possible to duplicate a service so that it can essentially run on multiple URLs since not all users will have access to the remote proxy (IT processes outside my control). I can see there is the possibility to create a new service but I'm unable to configure as required.Not sure if i'm overthinking this or missing something simple but any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

How to generate multiple PDF files from an Oracle database with a common image (logo).

Good morning. I'm writing this question to see if someone can provide a new idea! I saw couple blogs talking about, but without good result.I am trying to generate an atlas, given an Oracle database, of different files, each one with its ID, generating a PDF file for each one.The problem appears when adding a common image, such as a logo. If it comes from a reader, when doing a "fanout" on the writer, how it detects that it does not have an ID generates a file separate from the others, with the common information.After trying with a cloner, feature merger, or adding an attribute that is the path to the image for each record, I cannot get it to be seen (I can show that the path is physically written).Any ideas? Thank you so much!

FME License server - FlexNet for Safe Software

Hello everyone - We are migrating from on-prem to Azure. Its lift/shift approach. The machine name is not going to change, but MAC address will change. We can't really get a MAC address before we move the machine. I have below questions. Can we directly edit the current license file with the new MAC address after we have moved to new server ?Does the licencing software supports TWO Network adapters setup. ( two NICs). If its supported, then we can do the below. Is the license server smart enough to detect there are NIC#1 and NIC#2 and that the MAC address of NIC#2 is the correct old address and hence the existing license is valid? We can lift-and-shift the PRD-XXXXX-01 server with the existing license. This will create by default a NIC#1 with the new MAC address.We can then attach a second NIC, NIC#2, to this migrated VM and overwrite its MAC address with the old existing on-prem MAC address.How long does it take if we request for license via - https://engage.safe.com/activation/f

How do I use HTTP Caller to fill in a form?

I have been googling/trying to read about it but I dont seem to understand it too well. I dunno if I am trying to do something I cant. I am trying to use the UK Gov website (https://www.tax.service.gov.uk/check-council-tax-band/search) to search for council tax bands with a list of post codes. But the box to search the postcode sends the request and it appears to encrypt the postcode in the URL. Would it be possible to make it fill in this box and hit search? Appreciate any help as I am completely out of the loop here, never used the HTTP part of FME much. Cheers Also apologies if I have posted this in the wrong place!

I see in the documentation that this is possible (I.E. setting a value in SchemaMapper using a built in FME function). But I sure can't figure it out. Does anyone have an example, or can they please point me in the direction of an example? Thank you.

I was trying to extrude my .shp file using height feature and I used all of the techniques. But after extrude, I am not getting anything in the visual preview, which results no output when I write it. Is there any problem with my read file?

I used points geometry to create my .shp file. I got the visual preview from the read file. But after extruding, I am not getting anything and it's not showing any error. I want to create 3d cesium tiles.

Dynamically setting "Columns" on UPSERT in FeatureWriter to PostgreSQL

Hi, I have a dynamic workspace where I am reading in multiple csv update files for multiple feature types to upsert into our database. I had set the primary key dynamically dependent on the target table in the database. I cannot set a where clause on an UPSERT (which I do use with other feature types that have the ability to do I, U, or D) so went to use the "Row Selection: Columns:" section instead. This parameter does not work in the normal way with attributes. It presumes the selected attribute is the primary key field (no orange left arrow in front of the name), rather than using the value. I tried manually adding @Value(primary_key) (the attribute that stores the primary key column name) in the parameter but the feature writer also presumes it is literal and obviously can't find a column called "@Value(primary_key)" and errors. This is something that I would like to do, and is very much a part of a dynamic workflow. Otherwise I will have to create one dynam

Since they use different parameter settings, can we have both of them established in the same FME Form? I am having issues while trying to establish the connections.

OBJ to GDB and offset to location

Hi there, I have a whole lot of OBJ's of course they don't have any coordinate system, but they are tiled, so the first is 0,0 the second is 100,0 etc. I want to move these obj's around the world, I thought to just use an offsetter, but it scales the OBJ down.In ArcGIS PRO I can just move this over the map, and I hoped that the offsetter did something similar.I guess this has something to do with the world not being flat, but is there an easy fix for this, or even a hard fix. I really don't care which coordinate system, I can always reproject it. Thanks :-)

Cant read XLSX template sheet in XLSX writer

I encountered a challenge with writing to Excel using a template in FME. Despite setting it up correctly, FME wasn't reading the Excel template sheet. This issue persisted in FME 2020 but seemed to be temporary solved in the 2022 and 2023 versions.Progress Made:Identified a Excel plugin we use at work in Excel as a potential cause.Our IT support thinks the windows update for Excell 2023 is the probably reasonExplored potential reasons like multiple Python versions, recent Windows updates, and potential conflicts in the .xlsx files. However I dont want to uninstall my python versions due to other development projects. Appending one geodatabase feature class with another.

Hi, I'm having trouble appending one feature from a geodatabase, with another feature from a different geodatabase. To put it simply I want to turn 2 features into 1 feature. I'm using the terminology ("append") from this article, so I hope I've phrased this question correctly Combining Multiple Streams of Data (Append vs. Merge or Join) (safe.com). The schema is the same, I've attached a .gdb with the example data within it. Note: this is part of a much larger question, of how to append two separate .gdbs together (both with the same schema), but I figured I'd start on this mirco level and expand what I can learn from this forum to solve the bigger task at hand. Create Line from IFC data

I have an IFC file containing information about sewage pipes. In theory, it should contain two types of object classes (with geometry), namely IfcDistributionChamberElement (Manhole) and IfcPipeSegment (pipe). These classes use their subclasses as connectors, namely IfcDistributionPort (at each object node). Finally, these IfcDistributionPorts should be connected to each other using a relationship class called IfcRelConnectsPorts. In IfcDistributionPort have attribute named FlowDirection with value (source or sink) like in or out. The attached image shows a depiction of the connection.My question is how to create a shapefile containing line features to represent the flow direction so that when I upload the shapefile into QGIS, I can use arrow symbols on the lines.

Does resolving domain and subtypes not work when using the transformers Feature Reader and Feature Writer?

When I configure the parameters in FeatureReader to resolve domains and subtypes, it seems to have done it because when I connect it to an attribute manager I can see resolved fields. However, when I finish my process and connect them to a FeatureWriter the User Attributes tab doesn't show that it's going to assign domains to the fields that have been resolved. I'm using FME Form 2023.1.0. I've had success dealing with domains using these two transformers before I upgraded to 2023.1. Also not sure if it's relevant, but I'm working with an ArcSDE GeoDB.

I get this warnings in FME Flow and I have no idea how to fix them. Can somebody explain to me, what these 2 error messages mean and how to fix them?

Center text for stroking

Hi all, I have a line and attributes for the length and angle of the line and text.What I would like to have is a vector outline of the text centered over the line. Is there anyway to position the text over the line other than using an Offsetter after the TextStroker? Is there a reason that the height of the text generated by the TextAdder is only about 70% of the value provided in the Text Size parameter?

FME Server New User with Basic fmeuser Role seeing Admin Folders

I have added a new team member into FME Server, with fmeuser role. Basically this user only care read and Run workspaces under Parks repository so in FME Server under Repositories slide-down I set this configurationbut when I checked the user in the Server end point I am seeing this:As you can see two Samples and Tools repositories also listed there! When I check back in Server side, looks like there are some circled-checks on read and run options for these two! Now can you guys pleas let ne know how I can force this user to ONLY have access into Parks repository using the fmeuser role.

Hello! I am using a Server App with FME Server to generate MsWord reports. I have been getting this error: Microsoft Word Writer: Aborting translation: Not authorized to access destination file.

The error ends with "Please ensure that destination file is closed and check destination filepath" - most reports are generated but the very large ones fail (160 mb). Periodically these will work without an issues. Any help figuring this out would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

How to make a GDB to CAD template useable for any GDB file without having to set in the Reader's GDB manually each time? And how to make each individual feature class it's own layer in CAD?

Hi everyone!My current workspace here is designed to convert Esri GDB feature classes into CAD DWG files. As of right now it works but there's a few issues I couldn't solve: The workspace is meant to work as a template without having the user to have to manually change what file they'll be reading each time. Currently it's hard set to a specific point file.There should only ever be 1 single GDB file being processed at a time, but the GDB file is expected to have multiple feature classesWithin each GDB I'm also expecting that I have to deal with incompatible feature classes which simply need to be skipped.Valid feature classes will all have the following attribute fields:FillColorFieldStrokeColorFieldLayerTypeField So I need this template to only process feature layers in a GDB where it contains those 3 field and those fields are not null or empty. Creating merged line features tracing from multiple endpoint nodes back to a single startpoint node.

I hope I can explain this in a way that makes sense.I'm working on a fibre network where the main cable(s) leave the 'network hub' and connect to a building at the end of each respective route (see below, network hub = yellow, building = red). The goal is to number every node (ascending) from the end of a branch, working backwards towards the network hub (fibre allocation). What I'm hoping will work is creating a virtual merged line (for every building node) that contains the merged cables along the route back to the Network hub. Once this is achieved, I'm pretty sure I can handle the numbering of the nodes along the way, but even after hours of research I haven't been able to trace the route back from any given node, and merge all cables along the way. Has anyone worked on something similar in the past? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Blue below would be an example of one virtual merged line. Thank you in advance.

Relating a Point to Nearest Point on a Line - then Draw Line from Point to that Nearest Point

I have a list of addresses; each address has a lat/long point that closely represents the center point of the parcel of land associated with that address.I have a single line street network (SLSN).With each address point, I would like to create a line (LineBuilder I suspect) from the address point to the closest point/spot on a line segment of the SLSN (which may not be a vertex defined on the line).I say closest to a point within the line (defined or not defined) because that would represent the shortest path from the address point to the SLSN. Once I have these lines built, I will remove the SLSN geometry and add in the parcel geometry and determine the intersecting point of the "newly" created lines (with the corresponding address attributes associated with the line) and the parcel geometry.This intersecting point would be the best approximation of the mid-point of the parcel line segment (for the address) and the corresponding SLSN.Knowing this intersecting point can be u
