Can you publish a 32-bit workspace to a 64-bit FME server

Hello, I have a file with a huge number of feature (points) and I want to affect random values for them. I use the TrueRandomIntGenerator transformer to do that, but this transformer is limited (no more than 10000 feature). How can I do to handle the file by blocks of 10000 elements?

I have list attribute list{}.lbl, where lbl has these (alphanumeric) values 3A,5,7,9,11,13,15. I need the smallest (3A) and largest (15) value. ListRangeExtractor give Resulting Minimum Attribute 3A and Resulting Maximum Attribute 7. I suppose ListRangeExtractor and I don't fully agree on sorting order of alphanumerical values, it seems like it prefer to sort it either numerical (3...15 works fine) or alphabetical. Does any expert user have a suggestion or workaround to solve this list issue? Thanks!

I am using the KML writer to save output as KMZ by specifying Destination KML Dataset as "myoutput.kmz". This works, but I have an icon referenced in the KML output in the Icon->href tag as: images/D2.png  How can I add the images/D2.png folder and file to the output KMZ?  Thanks

Morning All,   Im reading in very large esri featureclasses but just need the geometrys, not attributes, It has 24 attributes that are read in with the geom. Is it possible to limit the reader to just bring in the geom not the attributes. Will this provide better reader speed/performance than using a attribute remover as my first transformer?. i was thinking of some sql in the reader "where clause" ?? thoughts/ suggestions , thanks Steve

So i have been going through tutorials and JSON documents on safe.com and I cannot figure out how to bring out the attributes I need from this for my workbench. I am getting this http call in json format and I want to get this down to working with these attributes  action, custom_1, height, class, MATL_TYPE , F_ID, POLETYPE, F_ROUTE, F_O, F_Y, EMINY, EMINX, DATABASE_NAME, DESIGNATION, objectType  I cannot figure out the procedure to be able to pull these attributes out and their values to work with in my workbench. Any help would be appreciated. Is it possible to create a negative buffer from an line (not area)? And is it possible to create a left-buffer from an area? 

Hi FME community  Spatial objects in FME that include arcs consist of several segments, each belonging to an arc or a subsequent series of straight lines. When you use the transformer ArcStroker to get rid of the arcs, you still have these separate segements (whereby each of them belongs now to a series of straight lines).  When you write these objects (polygons in my case) into PostGIS, they are automatically stored as "CurvePolygon" which cause problems. It needs a lot of transformers to decompose (donut-)polygons into their individual buildings blocks and to rebuild them.  My question therefore is: Is there a transformer or parameter to set so that the required simplification of the object's data structure after removing arcs happens automatically? If not, it would be desirable that Safe Software introduces this Feature in future Versions of FME. I mean are there any reasons to keep the polylines separated by segments after the removal of arcs?  Greetings, Andre  

The default behavior for double-clicking an FMX file is to "install" the custom transformer. It seemed that for a while I had double-click set up to open the transformer for editing, rather than installing it, but now it's reverted back to installing with my latest FME (2015.1.2.0 (20150911 - Build 15538 - WIN64)).  Can this behavior be changed? I never need the custom transformer installed because I keep them all in a shared directly. If I double-click it I'm always going to want to edit it. Additionally, because the default behavior is to "install" I can't open alternate versions from our version control system for editing because it always tries to "install" the version, rather than editing. 

Is there something needed to be done on db side so that FME can read PostgreSQL Materialized views , or this is something not possible to do ? Thanks, Jorge Vidinha

  Hello, fellow FMEers.   I'm very new to Python and to the PythonCaller, but we all need to start somewhere. I have wrestled with this problem basically all day and I still don't get it to work.   I have a textstring "A=0,5m, B = Bredd 0 m, C= Reduktionstal". From this string I want to extract the value between "Bredd " and " m" - in this case it is 0, but in can be 10, it can be 10.2.  I'm attaching an image of my progress so far... And the PythonCaller script so far: import fme import fmeobjects import re  def FeatureProcessor(feature):  substr = re.search('Bredd (.*) m', feature.getAttribute('text'))  feature.setAttribute("substr", substr)  I have often come across this problem and I really want to learn how to solve it. DataDownload service zip files are being deleted from the DefaultResults directory before users have downloaded them. How can the file deletion time be configured to allow longer to download the file?

I have a workspace that is run from a workspace runner, the final thing it does is fire off a soap message to a web service, as long as it gets a response it determines the workspace to have been a success. I want to look at the response and if it isn't what I was expecting I want the workbench to output through the failed port of the workspace runner. I am hoping there is some kind of flag on the workspace that I can change to cause it to output through the fail port?  Any help much appreciated  Regards  Jim

I am running fme 2015 (64bit) on a virtual machine. The Hyper-V server works with dynamic memory management, this leads to nearly 80% memory "blocked" by the hypervisor. In theory, the hypervisor should unblock more memory to the virtual machine, when a process like FME needs more memory. But instead, the FME optimizes its memory before and this leads to FME.exe process running with a limit of 200 MB on a virtual machine with 8 GB RAM. This only occurs using FME 2015, I did not have this behaviour running FME 2014. May be the Resource Manager improvements in 2015 are a problem?  UPDATE following @david_r 's suggestion, the fme.exe process gets more memory when using "FME_ENGINE_MEMORY_REDLINE 1", but a smaller value than 1 does not work to get more memory. Let's see what happens when the process hits the ceiling...  UPDATE Our IT has risen the minimum RAM of the virtual machine to 4 GB, this seems to solve the problem. Hello,  I am running FME Cloud and have been receiving a "winmail.dat" file in the email attachments and my feature reader that recognizes the attachments from the publisher is having difficulties with it. I read recently that Server has developed the ability to handle these files and extract the info from them, but I have yet to discover how.   Any help is much appreciated.   

I am using FME desktop and when the process completes I want to send out a email. I have that working but I also want to attach the log. I am not sure how to do that with the attachments parameters in the "PythonEmailer" Any help woudl be awesome.

Dear   I have two polygon shapfile one capture in 2010 from sat image and the other one capture after 2014 from aerial photo the idea is some time more than one polygon fill or intersect with 2014 polygon so my target is to select the polygon from 2010 intersect with polygon 2014 with max area only (that mean select one polygon ) polygon with the max area , see the picture and you will know what I am talking about ... the system will calculate the area and select the polygon with max area (for example the below pic show the polygon number 3 because it has the max area , ....    Thanks   Eng.Najd Hanahnah

Simple setup:  A large number of Line features (millions) needs to be overlaid with a set of Area features (25000). So a simple LineOnAreaOverlayer is used. This process is very slow and I am running into memory problems even with FMEx64. I have an attribute on the Line features that can group them into about 250 groups. So a case for parallel processing I thought (with which I have limited experience).  My problem is with the Areas. I want to process each group Line features with the same set of Area features. So I want to re-use the same set of Area futures for every batch after initial input. I cannot seem to think of a good idea to accomplish this. Even with a Custom Transformer. The Area Features do not have the group attribute and for various reasons each batch of Line features must be intersected with all Area features.  The only (fairly inelegant) solution that I could come up with is to cross join the Area Features with the list of groups using a FeatureMerger but that also

I used 100 x 100 horizontal/Vertical. I am not sure how long this would it take.   Here is my build, it has only outputted roughly about 10 files. I am not sure if its going to Tile it first and put the data into cache and split them. but basically takes forever.   Thanks! Jubert

Hi,  I have 2 sets of data with x and y and I would like to best match this information and join the information based on nearest point data. Some of the x and y locations are exactly the same in both datasets, so join easily with spatialrelator/filter or feature merge, but this is only 4%. The majority are slightly different as both datasets are using slightly different algorithms and software to record the x and y's.  Is there a way of assigning the nearest x and y from one dataset to another? So I can get a 100% match rate. Obviously assumptions will be made, but I feel this would be more beneficial for this particular join.
