We have successfully converted raw LiDAR data into GeoTIFF format to use in our 3d software program.  We are very happy with the FME Workstation solution!!  Out next step is that we would like to "stitch" 4 tiled sections of raw LiDAR data together into one large GeoTIFF.  We are exploring with the RasterTiler, but I think we need the opposite of this tool as it seems to tile one image into 4 images.  I see the RasterMosaicker transformer but I'm very new to this software.  Could anybody help me set this up?

Afternoon All, I am having trouble with the dynamic writer functionality of FME when i try and dynamicly read the schema from a "lookup" csv. it says its written the data to my output file but no file is created in the output dir.  I have run thru the tutorials for dynamic writing  (link below) serveral times  http://fmepedia.safe.com/articles/Samples_and_Demos/Dynamic-Workflow-Tutorial-Destination-Schema-is-Derived-from-a-Lookup-Table  I still cant get it to work in my example:  I have a CSV reader for my input data, 100,000 records i have added a workspace resource of a "schema from table" csv as my dynamic output schema for my writter. i have an xls writer to write my data too (ie the 100,000 records that use the schema supplied in the schema form table csv.  In my schema csv i have the similar format as per the tutorial (except my data has no geometry info - its just rows in the csv) so i leave the "geometry" field blank.   The transformation runs smoo

Is it possible to fanout AIXM 4.5? From what I read I need to fanout the dataset but I need to do that based on the feature type not a specific attribute. I basically need FME to write out a seperate xml file per feature type in my AIXM source message and can't see how I can do that with the fanout options.  I am using FME 2015

Hello,  I'm sure this must have been asked before but I can't find the answer.  I'm trying to break up a big image processing job by splitting up a directory of jpegs into sets and then passing each set to my worker workbench.  I'm trying to pass the group of jpegs as an list of files to the jpeg reader in the worker though the workspacerunner, however the list keeps being 'fixed' by the engine as it is passed in:  i.e my paths look like this (note i have spaces in my path so require quotes) \\\\prodds\\a folder\\a picture1.jpeg \\\\prodds\\a folder\\a picture2.jpeg  If i run this (succesfully) in the worker directly the reader string looks like this:  "\\\\prodds\\a folder\\a picture1.jpeg","\\\\prodds\\a folder\\a picture2.jpeg"  so following the guidance in here http://docs.safe.com/fme/html/FME_Server_Documentation/Default.htm#ServerConsole/Arguments_Quotation_Escaping.htm  I set my master workbench to pass the string as: ""&quo

I am attempting to calculate the length in miles of line segments using the following  (@Value(END_MEASURE)-@Value(BEGIN_MEASURE))/5280  I am receiving a warning as follows  ExpressionEvaluator_5: Failed to evaluate TCL expression: (-)/5280 ExpressionEvaluator_5: TCL Error Message: missing operand at _@_ in expression "(-_@_)/5280" FileGDB Writer: The `Mileage' attribute could not be written. The containing feature has been dropped  If I remove the division I do not get the error.  I need to division to happen as the output needs to be in miles not feet.  thanks Dan

Comparing the same output data in FME and ArcMap, with the same WFS Parameters Properties set up on both connections, same applic. schema, I am getting different results for some attributes. I.e in ArcMap I don't get values of some attributes but rather NULL. Likely not reading these values and not recognizing gml structure correctly.

Hi Guys,  easy question but I do that for my first time..... i have ca. 10 different shape files which I convert into a dwg (fan output with autocad_layer) how can i say FME that I want certain attributes of each shape file write into extended data from certain layers.?   Means....which parameter is responsible to write shape file attributes into a layer extended data?  And....when i have many different shape files which i convert in different layers with different attributes how can I handle that when I fan out them with an attribute?  Greetz Franco

Hi All, I have upgraded to FME 2015.0, and ran a mapping previously created with FME2014. It went OK (successful) but now at the biginning of the translation It's scanning through all possible readers and generates me a log file of more than 100 MB. In my mapping, I only have 2 GEODATABASE_SDE, 1 GEODATABASE_FILE and 1 XLS_ADO readers.  Why it has to scan all possible readers ? see attached screenshoot.  Thanks André

Hi, my workbench creates a csv file and FME Server creates a zip file. Is there any way to say that the result shouldn't be compressed. (no zip) Hendrik

I have some classfied Lidar and would like to generate 2D building footprints from them. I used a point cloud filter to separate the points with building classification and then used GeometryCoercer to turn them into points. I now have point cloud and points that look like buildings in the Data Inspector as shown: Point Cloud with building classification   Points created by GeometryCoercer  I'm not clear where to go from here. Buffer by certain amount? Is there a best transformer here?  Thanks

Hello, I have a workbench which converts Oracle spatial data to shapefile. I am creating a zip file in output folder. Now, I would like to add a metadata file which is in same folder where output zip is created. Is it possible to add/move existing file from folder to output zip.  Cheers John

Hi, I would like to know if anybody has any experience on how to access files on an FMECloud instance. To clarify a bit, I have a xls file in a folder in the resources section that I would like to access in mid-translation via FME desktop. The idea is to verify details that are on the xls file before continuing with the translation. I was thinking on using the HTTPCaller, but couldnt access the resources section on the instance. Any tips would be appreciated. Itay 

Hi ppl,  My input are XML files that are triple zipped (zip in a zip in a zip) I know I can read from a zip file, but is there anyway to read from a triple zipped input? If not does anybody have a tip on how to handle such a situation? ( any python/ tcl savy's advice?) Cheers, Itay

HI,  Currently I have run into some performance issues with a certain part of my workbench,  I am calculating the inclination angle between 3D points, and currently I am doing it this way 1.) sorting by distance 2.) using a counter  than I calculate the previous elevation of previous point so that I can calculate the change in elevation  Thanks So much, D 

Hi all I have a CAD file containing multiple points and polylines. I am trying to add a vertex to the polylines where each point intesects the polyline.Each polyline has multiple vertices. Seems to be a simple enough problem but i can't seem to solve it. VertexCreator only seems to add to the endponit of a line.I have tried 1) Chopper (max vertices 1) with a count 2) NeighbourFinder to assign count 3) Sorter 4) PointConnector this doesn't quite work....is there an easy way of solving this??

Hi,  I cant achieve to to parse correctly json elements and attributes correctly. The json received is like this:    {   "elements": [ {   "type": "way",   "id": 98815885,   "nodes": [     3325506694,     3325506698,     3325506701,     3325506705,   ], }, {   "type": "way",   "id": 98815895,   "nodes": [     1142949510,     1142941660,     1142983536,   ] } ] }  I am using the JSONFlattener, then the AttributesExposer (with elements{}, elements{},nodes{}, elements{}.id and elements{}.type) and finally the listExploder on elements{}.  The number of parsed feature is correct but there is no data inside the nodes attributes of each features. It's like if elements{}.nodes was empty for each feature.

I have multiple FCs in multiple FGDBs which I need to run through NeighbourFinder to generate distance/proximity info and then write into a single Excel writer feature type. These FCs have certain attributes I want to carry over into the writer but they are all named slightly differently. I would like some suggestions on the best way to carry this out please so it is easy to swap different combinations of Attribute in and out.

Hi,  This may be a newbie question/solution but I can't find a good way to implement the proper combination of reader and transformer parameters in order to streamline my workbench definition.  Here is the scenario:  Multiple readers with a huge amounts of records (all PostGIS tables).  One reader is the 'Master' table which contains rows with unique IDs.  The other tables have 1:Many rows with foreign keys associated with the unique ID.  My objective is to not have every record read in each of the "supporting" tables once a result set is obtained from an initial query on the "master" reader/table.  So, let's say that I set up a WHERE Clause on the master reader/table where it returns 1000 distinct records/IDs.  How do I set up the workspace so that when supporting readers/tables are accessed, only a limited set is saught and returned from each of the supplimentary readers/tables and then joined.  So, in summary, it is going through the process of cr
