Hello,I am struggling with a similar problem as this post (I think?).  One of my attributes in the Workspace contains a 0 or 1 that is used as a Boolean.  The value has been assigned the datatype ‘buffer’ in AttributeCreator and ‘string’ in the FeatureWriter, which outputs an Excel file.  I am using a template, where the cell format is set to ‘General’.For some reason, the Excel file that is generated will give me inconsistent formatting of the attribute value:  What is going on here??? As you can see, even though they all should be interpreted as strings, some of the values become numbers.  The formula bar does not show anything different.   I started using the Excel template in hopes of making the data format consistently, but even when I changed the cell format to ‘Text’ it still gave me issues when being read by Python. I would like to solve this issue before reverting to a Yes/No or True/False format.  What could be causing this?  Any insight is appreciated. -Thanks  

I have a dataset that has customer data, vehicle data, planned driving distance (with a bunch of other scrubbed attributes).  In this data, there are many days when a customer was not planned to have accumulated any distance but did use a machine.  If the planned driving distance to date is missing, I want to copy the value for the previous planned_Driving_dist_to_date that has a value, but I want this sorted by date and grouped by customer and machine.   The attached spreadsheet shows my dataset. 

Hello, All my data is in Excel spreadsheets. All the schemas are the same.I have two readers:The Updates Reader includes the 3 records that have been changed. These 3 records already exist in the Address Reader spreadsheet.The Address Reader is the original spreadsheet that includes these 3 records before they were updated. I would like these updates written to the Addresses Writer which creates a new excel spreadsheet with the 3 records updated but no new records added. In my workbench here, I run it, and the results are the 3 records are added to the 95,393 thus the new spreadsheet has 95,396 records in it. Having the 3 records added results in having 6 duplicate records whereas previously there were no duplicate records. I need the Addresses output to be 95,393 records with the 3 records I mention previously updated. I have tried changing all the parameters in the Writer with no success. The results are always the same, 95,396.I know I can use FeatureJoiner/FeatureMerger, but is the

When writing to Geotiff I would like Band interleaved by Pixel (BIP, interleaved RGBRGB) rather than Band Sequential (BSQ, per channel RRGGBB) interleaving but whichever option I use, the Geotiff always saves using Band Sequential interleaving.I have checked using Photoshop and also GDALinfo and both agree that INTERLEAVE=BAND rather than PIXEL. Is this a bug/can anyone else replicate this?

This is my first time using the SFTP External Action in an Automation. I have previously used the FTPCaller Transformer in FME Form, but sometimes it gives an SSH error. The SSH error has occurred 2x over the past 6 months. Safe Tech Support tells me it is a generic error for which they cannot find a fix.  Consequently, I am looking to use SFTP External Action in my Automation that previously used a FME Form workspace to upload to the SFTP.  Questions about the SFTP External Action Details in Automation:Source Path includes the path and the file name (myspreadsheet.xlsx); Is it ok to add the name of the source file in the Source Path? Destination Path includes the path and the file name (myspreadsheet.xlsx); Is it ok to add the name of the destination file in the Destination Path? Is it correct to assume that Destination Path is the same as the Transfer URL in the FTPCaller Parameters in FME Form? I need to export data of an oracle database to XML, it’s data from an electricity network, so not highly structured or nested.I created a workbench using the xml-templater and got some results, so far so good.Are there any limitations using the XMLtemplater compared to the XSD-driven Writer?I don’t want to create the whole export and realize later, that I would have better chosen the XSD-driven Writer for XML.Also a little problem with XML templater:I created an Attribute Value using Attribute Manager, a simple number “0.4”.When I write this value using the XMLtemplater it gets written as “0.40000000000002” to the Textfile.What am I doing wrong?  

I have two spreadsheets. One is the original data; the other is data that has changed. The schemas are the same. The spreadsheet with the changes has 3 records. I need to add these 3 records into the original data (while deleting the original 3 records in the original data), thus updating the records in the original. What is the best way to do this using ChangeDetector?Currently, when I use ChangeDetector, the records from the changes spreadsheet are output to Inserted; The records from the original spreadsheet are output to Deleted. Deleted includes the 3 unchanged records that are in changes spreadsheet.  In the screenshot below the 95,392 in Deleted include the unchanged records that are in Changes. The transformer outputs the Original and Revised separately with no way for me to delete the 3 records in 95,392 and add the 3 changed records? 

Hey Folks.I’m trying to move files from one folder to another after execution but it’s not working properly.I have tried using filecopy writer by selecting move option, but copy is working properly but its not move.I have also created attributes - filecopy_source_dataset, filecopy_dest_dataset, filecopy_dest_filename. Hi FME users, I have only been using FME for a short while, so please bear with me if this question is very basic. I remember seeing in several example screenshots of the workbench having multiple tabs open rather than just the default "Start" and "Main" tabs. I can imagine it would be very usefull to be able to toggle between different workspaces in the same workbench but couldn't find how to do this. Could anyone please share any experience on this?

Hello,I was wondering if someone here could give some guidance to a problem we are experiencing.We our trying to connect FME to BigQuery but regardless if it is the reader or writer we are unable to connect using Web Connection.For the Web Connection settings we use or own accounts which have access to BigQuery. In fact when we connect directly to BigQuery we are able to see the project, datasets and tables and we are able to run queries on them.But when trying to establish the connection from FME using Web Connection we get the following error: BigQuery Connection ErrorAny help on how to solve the issue or to even find out what exactly is wrong would be appreciated.Thanks in advance.RZ.-

I’m looking at an area of survey points that can be divided into east and west areas by grouping with an attribute value. I have used Hull Accumulator to draw polygons around a) the whole area (light purple) and b) the two subdivisions (darker purple). The point population remains the same overall, but I get different external boundaries in places, when I was expecting the same. Alpha = 0. What would be useful is any description about how the transformer makes its drawing choices. I also end up with a donut hole. Again, am trying to understand how this occurs, as I assumed the transformer would create an external boundary only.Many thanks

Helly everyone,I am working with data that consists of abrreviations/code items that are strung together in a single field which I am trying to convert to full text. For that I am using a string pair replacer which contains thousands of mapping pairs, but I have encountered a problem which I can’t seem to solve without knowing how exactly the String Pair replacer does its thing. The problem arises when multiple codes share letters. Here`s an example: I have the following pairs somewhere in my replacement pair string**gn green**bn browng gravelF mudSo F:**bn**gn should map to Mud:browngreen but whats happening is this: M:brown**gravelr.I figured that the transformer probably checks its list from start to finish and ordered my list by string length in hopes it would transform longer strings first. The order of replacement items definetely has a big impact on the result and I was succesful of ironing out most errors in doing that but this particular translation and a few others still dont

Hi,  I have an excel spread sheet that i have to read and load into a database table. The structure of the excel sheet is different from that on the database. Sample screen shot of the excel spread sheet is seen below. Columns J-S are county names, and the values associated with it are the cost for each county.I need the 10 county column names loaded as values into COUNTY_CD column in the database and its associated county cost value loaded into database column COST_PER_SQFT. So, for every row in the excel spread sheet I will have 10 rows in the database and each row represents data for each county. The database columns and the values to be loaded should like belowI had looked into several post that does transpose of columns, pivot tables etc, but I couldn’t find a solution that works for me. Hello,I have a set of pairs of points that each have a uniqueID_start and unique_end field. I am trying to extract all of the line segments between each pair of points. The tricky thing is that the pairs can be several line segments long, and have other pairs intersecting them:There could also be several points on a single spot, but corresponding to different pair sets.It’s a mess! Any help would be wonderful!

Hello FME Folks, I know that we can run multiple FME Desktop version on same Windows Machine with same licence.Can we do that with FME Server on different Windows Server machines?We have a SmallWorld DB incompatibility for our FME Server upgrade and EO SmallWorld upgrade will happen later.SO, we have to run two FME Server environment.
