Is Oracle connection shared between Workspaces/Transformers?

I am curious to know if Oracle connection is shared between FME workspaces and transformers.For example, I have a workspace which has SQLCreator, SQLExecutor, and Workspace Runner among the others. The workspace in the WorkspaceRunner will also have a bunch of SQLCreators, SQLExecutors, as well as FeatureReaders and FeatureWriters.My question is will they all share the same Oracle connection/session?

Write multiple files in a directory

Hi all. I am trying to read a directory with many TIFF files, select the latest ones and copy or move them to a new directory. I read the files with a Feature reader using the Directory and File Pathnames format.The files got the date-time in the name so I use the Sorter to find the latest one and then I use the Sampler to select a few of them. Can someone advise me how to write them now in another directory? Many thanks

How to control what type of arc is created with the GMLFeatureComposer

Hi,I wonder how I can control what type of Arc is created with GMLFeatureComposer. I have tried to convert every nativ IFMEArc to Arc by 3 points, by using a PathSplitter, GeometryFilter ArcStroker (number of interpolated egdes = 2) ArcEstimator-> now every Arc is IFMEArc Arc by 3 points. then I send them into the GMLFEatureComposer and output is:<gml:ArcByCenterPoint numArc="1"> <gml:posList>610994.229288738 6650770.14554273</gml:posList> <gml:radius uom="EPSG:25832">24.6290249574635</gml:radius> <gml:startAngle uom="degree">65.8899835987118</gml:startAngle> <gml:endAngle uom="degree">57.0505172196457</gml:endAngle></gml:ArcByCenterPoint>I want:<gml:Arc> <gml:posList>60.02 10.1 60.01 10.2 60.03 10.03 </gml:posList></gml:Arc>Don't mind the numbers its from 2 different examples.How can I control what type of arc is created?

Lat/long data from WebSocketReceive can not be spatialized into a database

My 1st time to use web socket data stream service. I use WebSocketReceiver to connect to a wss service. After using a JSONExtractor toextract the needed key/value pairs, I can write the data into an Oracle non-spatial table. The data has latitude/longitude, so I add a VertexCreator to create a point. But as I connect the VertexCreator to an Oracle SDE or File Geodatabase feature class, and run the workspace, the streaming goes on, but nothing happens in the writer, the feature class in SDE or File GeoDB is not created. No errors. I am pretty sure the lat/long values are valid. Any clues?

Removing Duplicates and re-arranging items

I have created a sample table below of a much larger dataset.I want to be able to group each ID and then be able to compare the New and Old Values to see if they are the same, in some cases the order is wrong, or there is a semi colon and space or there are duplicates. How do I clean all this out, so that I can make a more accurate comparison of the two columns?

Using nvarchar(max) as data type with MSSQL_ADO writer?

Is there a way to specify nvarchar(max) as datatype for a field using the MSSQL_ADO writer? ntext is deprecated so I can't use it anymore.

Raster Image // AttributeFileReader to Image

Hi, I read images from a directory and save them in SQL Server as <image>.I use the AttributeFileReader to create a binary representation of the image which then just gets written into the database (works fine).I also need to create a thumbnail for each image and save it as blob as well. And here my problem starts - I don't know which transformers I need to use:My process looks like that:AttributeFileReader -->RasterReplacer (I need to create an image)-->RasterResampler (I create a thumbnail)-->RasterExtractor (I create binary representation of the image)the result gets written as <image> into a SQL DB table.But when I extract the image from SQL Server (with an different application than FME) the thumbnail is no valid image file (whereas the main image is).For simplicity I uses JPG files only right now.Any idea what might be wrong with my choice of transformers or their order? Many thanks, Rob

Feature Reader reading from wrong location - FME Server

I have a Feature Writer configured to write a csv to a parameterised path. In FME Server, this is configured as a Resource Path. This works OK and writes to: \\FMEServer\\resources\\data\\file.csvA subsequent (text) Feature Reader uses the same parameterised path (with the filename). Unfortunately this appears to read from \\FMEServer\\repositories\\repository\\workspace/file.csvRefer attached - have I configured this incorrectly or is this not supported? This is for: FME Server 2016.1.0.1 - Build 1649

How can i improve the quality of the RasterMosaicker result

When trying to merge different WMS layers together to reduce a PDF file size i'm loosing too much image quality. An alternative option that i build is to just add them as extra layers but the file size is sometimes too big for normal use. So my question is: How can i improve my image quality?The ideal option is to get the same quality as you would normally see when all rasters are send to the the data inspector. Like this:But with with nearest neighbour it looks like this:If i use bi-linear it looks a bit better:and bi-cubic looks even better:But it still loses a lot of detail and line quality in the parts that the lines are semitransparent. Is there a option for merging this the same way as the result shown in the data inspector (see the first image) without all the abundance of data that you cannot see? In the end i would like my PDF with rasters merged to be/look the same as the PDF with the rasters as separate layers. I have taken the necessary transformers from my flow into t

Create a halton sequence with python

Dear community,I would like to create a halton sequence meaning systematic random distributed points. I found the appended python code. To call it: halton_sequence(10, 3) Now, how can I adapt the code so I can use it in the PythonCreator? I would need a list of coordinates to create the points.Thank you for your help!

How to create new attribute definition in ACAD block

Hello everybody,  I try to solve problem withACAD block. I just wanna add attribute definition into block. This block has not any attribute definition, so it is completely without user attributes. If block definition has one or more attribute defition, there is not problem to add new one via FME. But in case of block without attribute, I cant solve, how to add attribute definition.Could anybody help me please?Thank You so much!Lubo

How to runarcpy scripts

Hello,I would like to run simple maintenance arcpy scripts on feature classes after a load. Without reading those feature classes. Example of scripts: attribute index, spatial index, extent calculation: arcpy.AddIndex_management(in_table="C:/Users/xxx/Documents/ArcGIS/Default.gdb/tablename", fields="Name", index_name="name_1", unique="NON_UNIQUE", ascending="NON_ASCENDING")arcpy.RecalculateFeatureClassExtent_management(in_features="C:/Users/xxx/Documents/ArcGIS/Default.gdb/tablename") For both file geodatabase feature classes and Enterprise Geodatabase. How do I achieve this with either a shutdown python script or PythonCaller / Creator? Thanks

Field Calculate in FME

Hello,I have a .cal file saved in python to create a unique identifier. How can I use this in FME? I didn't create this so I don't know how to tie this to the field needed. In Arcmap I could just right click the field I want this to go in and field calculate it, but how would I use this to update attributes with nulls in a specific field within fme. import uuiddef f(): return "{" + str(uuid.uuid4()).upper() + "}"__esri_field_calculator_splitter__f()

Create a polygon from a set coordinates

Hello,What is the trick to create a polygon from a set of coordinates and make sure FME read the points in the order to create the required polygon where _result field can be used as ID and acknowledge the order in which polygon should be created ? I went thru a bunch of transformers, but I did not succeed with any... I went thru several articles from the knowledge center as well, but cannot figure it out. Can't run a batch file (that runs successfully when run manually) as a scheduled task.

Hello,I am trying to run an FMW file using a batch script and although I can run the batch file manually and it will run successfully without any hiccups and in very little time (2-3 mins) when I try running the same batch script as a Scheduled Task it takes way too much time to run (I haven't even let it finish as it was running for over half an hour) and doesn't look to run the same way (their log files differ).I would love some help to get this working properly. I know FME Server does this much easier but our office doesn't have the resources (or business requirements) to purchase Server and so I'm stuck trying to make this work with a Scheduled Task. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Merging 2 CSV files based on a number range.

Hi,I need to merge 2 CSV files based on a number range. In the first file, I have a ZIP Code with the ZIP+4 number (2 separate attributes). In the second file I have a ZIP Code with a ZIP+4 range (Beginning +4 and Ending +4 -- 3 separate attributes). I need to merge the files based on the ZIP+4 number and create a new CSV file with all the info from the first file with an attribute from the second file appended.For instance, the first file may have ZIP Code 12345 with a ZIP+4 of 1000. The second file may have ZIP Code 12345 with a range of 0500-1500 and these should match.

Answer from HERE API

Hello,Screen shot attached is an answer from HERE API. What I do not get is : why I only see the first 3 attributes in the TableView window within the Inspector ? If I can understand a little more on that one, that would be helpful to then process info from response.isoline{*}.component{*}.shape{*} (encoded: UTF-8) records especially.Thank you for your inputs, regards.

RasterExtentsCoercer not retaining attribute data

My features have an attribute _mapsheet. When I use the inspector I can see the _mapsheet attribute is populated when it comes out of the FeatureReaderBut then when I check the attribute after it has been through the RasterExtentsCoercer (which I have named RawRasterExtent in my workspace) the attribute is no longer populated.I had this workspace working in FME 2017. Is this a bug in 2018? Or is there something extra I need to do.TIA

Geometry creation and correction

I have been supplied a LAS files to extract features from. FME has been able to do a pretty good job at it and I have been able to extract the likes of Road Markings and Signs from the pointcloud. However, I am hoping that there may a few more idea of refining the process to get "nicer" features from the data.For the road marking, I really want a process that looks at the outer points and removes all the vertices in between. I can't seem to find a "generalization/smoothing" that does it nicely. (Thanks to @dmitribagh for the initial workspace)   For the signs, I have just have got to the point to of extracting from the LAS. So I need to create into a vertical surface/polygons. I have an idea to extract the full surface in much the same way as above, although to I believe for each sign, I will:- User Centrelinereplacer to extract the angle of the sign.- coordinateswapper, so that I am looking down on the sign face- Rotate the sign using angle to look at the full

I am trying to transfer attribute values on rational bases of length.

I have to two geometry (Polyline), segment lengths are different and spatial aligned. I want to transfer the attribute of 2nd geometry to 1st geometry? Some attributes of the segment are calculated on the bases of length. I only need to transfer attribute which is overlaped by 1st geometry segment.

Extra Server Engine Created using FMEJobSubmitter 2018.1

I am licensed for only one engine but a second engine is created automatically when I use FMEJobSubmitter. Is this normal? Does this count as using two licenses? If I run this job on a server that already has two engines will both licenses be in use? Thanks
