Hi all, I have a seemingly easy question. I have two feature classes that I have spatially joined using the spatial relator. There are two cities fields in this new feature. For the sake of the example, we can refer to them as Cities A and Cities B. Some values are null in both fields, however the Cities A is more accurate. How do I combine Cities A and Cities B into a new field with priority given to Cities A, assuming it is not null. i.e. if Cities A is null and Cities B has a value, we use Cities B. If Cities A and B both have values for a feature, then only Cities A would be used.

Hi @everyone, I want to test my 3D Dataset for vertical lines (only horizontal are allowed). I instructed the transformer to test if the z-start point is the same like the z-endpoint. Now the problem is the amount of z-points in the data set differs, some lines got more than 6 or less:  How can I test dynamically for the end z-point? Thank you in advance.

Hello, I use FME to generate a PostGIS table from a Shape file.When the value of an attribute type real is set =NULL, FME displays it as =0.I don't know if the problem is due to : A bug of FME (misunderstanding of NULL attribute)A problem of the input Software that generate Empty string value : It should not be possible to generate empty string with numeric attributes?Thanks

Hi,I attempting to write to an existing table which contains polygons based in Postgres database. I have selected truncate existing table. I get following error:Error was 'ERROR: null value in column "objectid" violates not-null constraint The object ID seems to be an issue only when attempting remove existing data and add new data. When creating a new table, this is not a issue.

However, the company I'm working for routinely works with both USA and Canadian data, so it's not practical to set this value for all of FME. Rather than performing a manual CSMapReproject everywhere it's needed in the workspace, is it possible to define the grid shift file to be used just once for an entire workspace? It would be great if this was available as a setting under Workspace Parameters but there doesn't seem to be anything there....

Hi, I have a few sql executor transformers in a sequence. They are using sql server jdbc driver connections. When I run I get the following notices usually from either the second or the third executor in the chain. com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: The query has timed out. I have in the past got round this by putting in feature holders which seem to close the existing connection session but it doesnt appear to be working and is affecting workbenches in desktop and cloud. I dont get these issues with using the native sql client but because I need them to run in cloud they need to be on jdbc. Does anyone have any suggestions as to work arounds for this. thank you

Hello,I have a bigger workspace with a lot of spatial transformations writing into .ffs files. The process is running since two yeas on FME Server 2018. Now after migrating the workspace to FME 2020 the process ends with a FATAL 'Expression: !isPoly || curve->isClosed2D()'.However the .ffs are written successfully.Now I 'm searching for the transformer which might have fired the message to analyse what I have to change.Any ideas?thanks Klaus

Hello all,I've got a spreadsheet with filenames, and have been asked to rename the files in a folder/subfolders - with the filenames in the spreadsheet. After joining them, which works fine, I then put it through an Attribute Manager to have the attached image as an output destination (Folders and a Document at the end). I was wondering if anyone could shed any light on why the output files, from the FileCopy writer (both Copy and Move mode) come out as folders, and not the PDF files as they went in?

I have two polygon shapefiles that I need to spatially join. I'm trying to populate township/range/section in my dataset based on a TRS shapefile. I have it working in ModelBuilder through ArcGIS but I can't get it to correlate the same in FME Desktop.

Hi, I have a generic reader in my workspace which allows me to read in all types of file formats. However, I believe that in order to set the parameters for the different types of file formats, I need to add to my workspace, a reader for the particular file format I want to set the parameters for. I have done this, but I want to now remove the reader from the canvas but keep it in the Navigator window. I managed to do this once awhile ago, but now I have no idea how I did this. Any ideas?

Our Gallery Apps on FME Server don't show a custom image as icon, but leave the space blank instead. In previous versions of FME Server this was not the case. Our installation is FME Server 2020.2, build 20787, win64.Any ideas on how to solve this issue?

FME 2020: The “GeometryFilter” tool fails to detect objects of “circle” type in AutoCAD, I couldn’t figure out how to filter objects of “circle” type in AutoCAD. The “GeometryFilter” tool fails to catch them. Then how to filter the CAD circles? The data is attached         

To put this into context I have a google sheet which has hyperlinks to photos. It shows the shared link but not the filename. I need to be able to extract the filename (and ideally the directory path from Google drive) so I can relink the photo to the new location. Hope this makes sense

I have set up a sensor to send UDP messages to FME Cloud via a GSM modem and it works great as a trigger, but the message that arrives is nonsense.  I believe everything is sent as bytes through the serial port so I have no idea whether its possible to format it before sending or the problem is how FME Cloud is receiving the data. 

I have a shapefile, it is all lines with only two points in each line. Ultimately I'd like to expose the X and Y, start and end, of each line. CoordinateExtractor seems to be able to expose the X and Y of all the points but is there a way to filter that list, like Start X, Start Y; End X, End Y?

I have a very basic workbench, which reads data from FFS files and should write around 15000 lines in the ESRI ArcSDE Table (SQL Server 2014). Unfortunately, when the workbench is ready to write the data in the table, I receive "Error running translation" with two BADNEWS issues in log which appear only in Debug mode:....ArcSDE release: '10.0'. Underlying database: 'SQL Server'A default z-value of '0' will be used for all 3D features where z-values are not providedGeodatabase Writer: Not simplifying geometries being written to the GeodatabaseError running translation......Kindly find complete log here  The writer which I use is "Esri Geodatabase (ArcSDE Geodb)". The default and non-overwritable company proxy setting on our FME server machines has not been working consistently against external data services in our 2019.2.1 FME server. I was glad it started to work consistently 4 weeks ago with our FME server 2020.1.3 upgrade in which we explicitly set the Proxy to a proxy IP address/Port inside the FME server. However, it stopped working since a week ago. The FME server error message shows the server is using the default company proxy setting again. Should the FME server proxy setting overwrite the server machine's proxy setting?

I'm trying to create a validation routine that tells me what points are not in their expected polygon. I have two tables with an areaid common to both- one has point geometry (building b) and the other has polygons (area a). something along the lines of the following badly phrased pseudocode!select * from building where building point does not exist in area and a.areaid = b.areaidAll help appreciated!
