Have two automations happening where one downloads files off an Azure Blob storage. The other is actively listening to the folder where the first automation downloads files too to trigger a workspace. My problem is that for some reason AzureBlobStorageConnector sometimes downloads files as 0kb. Is that cause it's trying to download files that haven't fully uploaded to that Azure Blob Storage? I.e the same thing that happens when you download something off the internet and it goes to the download folder as a temp file - until it downloads fully. CheersDan

Hi,I have 3 writers (feature types), all PostgreSQL connected to the same schema but different tables. The second writer should be the first to be written, then the third and so on. This is because of the dependency of the primary key of one writer as the foreign key in the second writer. Can we fix this writing process?I tried the feature holder, connection runtime order, but no luck yet. Also tried the file writer, however, the required attributes are not written. Any quick solutions that I am missing out on? Thanks!

My Feature Type has several attributes (eg. a, b, c, and s). One of them (e.g. s) is special , it contains the name (string) of one of the other attributes.Now I would like to test my features. I would like to use the string value content from this special attribute s (which for example is 'b') in order to define the left value attribute for my test, for example: @Value(b).Any hints for that are very welcome! the basic gist I've gotten from the forums and examples is:httpCaller>jsonFragmenter>jsonExtractor and I can make that work in a couple of simpler examples. My ignorance is showing when I get to a larger _response_body. I've attached an example json file that is the response for this specific API call, and I would just post my whole workbench but it includes an API key that I don't want to expose.Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide. I'm basically trying to flatten the entire response into a table.

I published a FME Workspace with a FMEServerJobSubmitter in FME Server, I can run the FME Workspace and the FMEServerJobSubmitter starts the subsecuent FME Workspace, however if someone else in my team wants to run the same workspace, it fails with error "FMEServerJobSubmitter (ServerFactory): Failed to access FME Server web connection 'lopeztor FME Server'", I shared the repository where the FME Workspaces are and the web connection used.

I everyone, I need to vertically shift data between two canadian orthometric heights (HT2.0 to CGVD2013). I have this conversion grid in .byn format (I get it from NaturalRessources Canada website) and create de .gdc file to use it in the CsmapReprojector transformer. However the CsmapReprojector transformer offers only orthmetric to ellipsoid or ellipsoid to orthometric handling, but the shift should be between to orthometric heights. So when I try both I get my data shifted up or down regarding to the vertical handling choice. But I have no idea wich one is the right shift ! Is there's a way to just apply (or transform) a .byn file for vertical shift ?  Thanks ! 

Hi! I've built all of our municipality (including terrain, type of terrain, roads, water, bridges, tunnels, buildings, trees and railway) in FME. The kids keep complaining about the slow railway :) So now I've added powered rail on redstone to get faster trains. But the powered rail does not seem to be activated. If manually removing the powered rail and add again manually, the new powered rail get activated and the train goes fast. Is there a way to programmatically activate the powered rail in FME? I've tried using a block state parameter (which is supported in Minecraft) in addition to blockID and blockData. I called the parameter blockState, and set it to true, but FME does not seem to support that parameter. Can you add that support, or is there another way to programmatically activate the powered rail?Best regards, Ken Karlsson

For my workbench I have one input dataset from an oracle spatial reader. The dataset has over 2 million features. At the moment workbench takes over 12 hours to run as the features get stuck at a featurejoiner transformer near the end of the workbench.

I have an SQL reader the loads json and a geometry from a postgis tableSELECT $SQL$@Value(schema)$SQL$ AS schema,       attributes,       wkb_geometryFROM @Value(schema).features_addressesI have to do this as the database connection is dynamic as is the schema and cannot be fixed in a Reader.  My question is how do I extract the geometry as an FME geometry so it can be passed to a FeatureWriter? I tried using a GeometryReplacer and WKB format but FME rejects the WKB even though it is valid? 

I was wondering if the FME Server adopts the settings of your workbench or workspace when it comes to logging (Tools -> FME Options -> Translation -> Log message filter) or does FME Server have an own setting for this? I know there is a workspace parameter -> Logging with a few settings (max Features to log, max logged features to record and log file) that is workspace specific. I'm asking this because i'm making a final package for release and one of the steps in the release guide for this customer is "In FME desktop, set the logging of the FME workspaces to only 'WARNING' and 'BUGS'." what i think would be a unnecessary step to perform, cause i dont think this would have any effect on the server. Or i'm i mistaken?  

I am trying to install the custom transformer GeographicAreaCalculator which was downloaded to C:\\Users\\GUANA\\AppData\\Roaming\\Safe Software\\FME\\FME Store\\Transformers\\GeographicAreaCalculator/fmx on my FME desktop. I follow this article https://docs.safe.com/fme/html/FME_Desktop_Documentation/FME_Coordinate_Systems/Workbench/Sharing_Custom_Resources.htm to publish my workspace while adding this fmx file. The publishing succeeded, but when running the workspace on the server, it stills say this custom transformer does not exist on the FME server.

In ArcGIS, we have been using the geodesic area calculations to calculate polygon areas in square kilometers from a geographic coordinate system such as WGS84. See http://dmahr.com/2015/07/geodesic-areas-arcmap-field-calculator/. I don't seem to find a similar reprojection in FME. is there an one that is closet?

I can connect everything up but I get an error when I use either the Column Match or the Where clause options. I have multiple xml files, each with the same structure as shown below: <Metadata>   <MDI key="MAXIMUM">9</MDI>   <MDI key="MEAN">4.2018685725509</MDI>   <MDI key="MINIMUM">0</MDI>   <MDI key="STDDEV">2.3097856863945</MDI>  </Metadata>I want to create a table with using the MDI Keys as the column names, and the element values as the rows from all the xml files, as illustrated below. Can do a single file with AttributeTransposer, but could not figure out a simple way to load all the files together, feeling awkward with limited knowledge of FME XML transformers. Need some expert help here.  

I have a workbench on FME server I need to start running by calling URL through an external script. (In my case a poweshell script.) I can create all the parameters necessary to run workbench, but I need to specify which Queue or FME Server this workbench will be run on.  I have created a Job Queue with the FME Server I want to run on. When running this in browser I can use the Advanced option and select the Job Queue. This will then run where I need it to run. But I can't see a how to get this to happen when submitting through API/external script.

I am trying to write extended data attached to AutoCAD entities such as lines (DWG file format) and am not finding examples on how to do this. I'm not finding the documentation particularly helpful in this regard. Does anyone know how to do this? See image below, thanks.

We have many geotiff files that have NoData Value specified or calculated in ArcGIS. Is there a way in FME to retrieve the NoData Value from the tiff's property?

Hi, I'd like to save raster to the JPEG format. The raster includes an alpha band. In order to save to JPEG the alpha band needs to be removed. When the alpha band is there the background appears white in FME Inspector. When I remove the alpha band the background turns black. That's also the background color when I save the raster to JPEG. How can I work around this problem and make the background white when I save to JPEG? With the alpha band. White background.Without the alpha band. The background turns black. I don't want that.
