Hey all, as per the title, I seem to be struggling with this simple task! I have a spatial dataset that contains dozens of features, each with a 'Name' attribute field. In many cases, these features overlap, and I want to concatenate the overlapping 'Name' field values into a new single attribute field called, say, 'Names_Combined'. I've tried string concatenator and area on area overlay to no avail, is there a different transformer that would do the trick? Cheers all! Marty

Hello,I have an Excel file with WKT format geometry in two separate columns (attributes, correct?) that I am struggling to encode without creating duplicate rows (features) or overwriting one or the other. Using GeometryReplacer, I can replace the geometry separately, but if I chain them together, only the last one is shown as it goes into 3D Coercer. If the GRs are in parallel, they create duplicate rows. It is important to keep the row structure intact.  Above, the Boundaries and Rep. Points transformers are the GeometryReplacers. Obviously, this is no good, but it is the only way I can see both attribute geometries. I have worked out that I can use the Fanout feature on both csv and xlsx files, and I need the output as csv files, however outputting to a csv creates separate folders for each file and I need it output to the same file. The second part is that I want the output to start writing on row 2, with each file output to have the same value in cell A1.I know that if i output to excel i get individual files, named based on the attribute I specify, but all the files are in the same folder, which is halfway to what I want.What I cant work out is how to:insert a specified value in cell A1 on every file; andoutput as a csvIs this possible in FME or am i going to have to write a macro for excel that runs through each file, adds the value in cell A1 and then saves the file as a csv?

I am converting geodatabase data to JSON and using the HTTPCALLER to upload to an API. The JSON output from FME is adding square brackets[] as the first set of brackets but the API is looking for curly brackets{}. Is there a way for FME to output curly brackets instead of square brackets?The API is also looking for some additional text between the first and second open brackets. Can I insert additional text between the brackets in the JSON output?For example the FME JSON Writer is writing [{json text}] but the API is looking for {site:{json text}} Thanks, David

Hi everyone and happy easter! I am facing some difficulties with the LineBuilder Transformer, maybe someone has an idea how to solve this issue. I am generalizing lines, to calculate the lenght between linepoints per line feature. Our surveying data (especially lines) are generated based on linepoints. Anway, inbetween those linepoints lines (splines, arcs) often have vertexpoints, to display their curvature. I managed to give all linepoints the ID of the corresponding line feature (often linepoints carry geometry for more than 1 line, because they are intersection points). Now i need to build the simplifies lines for each line feature, but only using the linepoints as vertexpoints. In some cases it turns out well, but in other one I am achieving an interesting result (see attached pictures). Do you have any idea why my lines are in some cases built like this? Is it possible to export .obj file with multiple tiles with desire tile size (eg. 4096 x 4096) instead one giant texture file?

Hi, I am trying to download a csv with this url (https://waterinfo.rws.nl/api/Download/CSV?expertParameter=Waterhoogte___20Oppervlaktewater___20t.o.v.___20Normaal___20Amsterdams___20Peil___20in___20cm&locationSlug=Delfzijl(DLFZ)&timehorizon=-24,24) using FME. The csv contains data about the water level in the past 24 hours and the expected water level in the next 24 hours for a specific location. I have tried with the http caller but that doensn't work. Is there a way to download the csv using FME or to read the data in another way with a FME reader/transformer? In the attachment I have included the csv that should be the result of the download. I hope someone can help me.Peter

How do I get the CreationDate of a SourceDataset e.g. "Parks.shp" to a userdefined attribute of every Feature in this Dataset. I tried SystemCaller and TCLCaller but got stuck. 

Hello everyone, We need to validate CAD file, in order to load into database. We want that the workspace runs by blocks. First of all, it needs to check geometry and, when this block returns zero errors, then (and only then) we'll check the labels. We'd thought to use "Total count" of StatisticCalculator and Tester to check "Total count", in order to check if we can pass to the second block, but it doesn't work, because when no errors returned, there isn't flux of data.

Hello, just started FME a few days ago. Have an Excel file with 3 columns containing geometry in WKT format. How do I translate into readable geometry? Example: POINT (2648.81837074121 433.2500) Thanks

From a shapefile of 50,000 points, the final output on this would be polygons that contain 500 points per polygon. Appreciate any guidance on the best way to do this.

Hello. I am trying to make a transformation in the values of a certain field called Labeltxt in a feature type in a gdb. I change the value in the field. This succeeds, but when I need to write back into the gdb i have a problem: Either i use "drop and create" in the writer, but then the objectID field is re-written, which we use to relate to other tables.  Or i use the "update" "use existing", and then select "labeltxt", but then the field is not changed in the gdb that is written. Is there a way that I can retain the Object ID and also change the labeltxt value? Regards Rasmus

Hi, I'm experimenting with bit shifting in FME, and I do not get the expected results. In FME 2020.1.0.1 (see example workbench), (255 << 24) is transformed to a 64 bit integer, and gives me 4278190080. in Postgres database this operation gives the expected result of -16777216. I'm using Postgres as a reference since eventually the results of my FME script will be stored there and used by other applications. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong (or should do to achieve my expected result), and hope somebody can help me out. Thanks, Richard.  

I am trying to think of ways to use the newly available CurveFitter to speed up work processes. Could the resulting data be saved to a PostGIS database? It seems so from the documentation I have found, but the info is very vague. If PostGIS would not work, is there some other database format that would accept the curves/arcs? 

I am working with a feature class and I have got some empty cells that share the same Structure ID, I want to fill the missing Archetype value from a value in the above row. logic can also be created using an index column such as : it looks simple but I have already spent hours figuring this out but couldn't find the solution. Hi, I would like to write tagsets for linestrings with display set to 'yes' out to a Microstation DGN file with the bottom-left corner of the tagset being located at the start of the linestring.  When I write the tagset with offset set to 0, some of the tagsets appear at the beginning of the linestring, but some of them appear in seemingly random places. I'm assuming this is related to the radius of the curve of the particular linestring. I have tried following the advice in this article (https://community.safe.com/s/article/writing-microstation-dgn-tags-with-fme) and using a CenterPointExtractor followed by a CoordinateExtractor, followed by an ExpressionEvaluator, but this doesn't put the tagsets in the correct place. I'm wondering if this is because this method only works for polygons and not linestrings? Does anyone know how to calculate the offset of tagsets for linestrings so they are placed at the start of the line? I guess in other words, where does FME put

I tried with chopper, buffer and PointOnAreaOverlap but I don't manage to modify the polygon. Due to the accuracy problems and different sources the vertices are close to about 1-2cm. How to modify the big polygon to the vertices of the small one automatically? Thank you for help!!

I have tried using string replacer to remove the blank spaces with commas but it doesn't seem to work?  I am hoping to get this attribute looking like the below? Any help on how to get here is appreciated.

For this exercise attribution can be ignored other than FME_feature_type to remove the redundant IFC components (site, project, building etc) It feels like there is a lot of 'junk' in the IFC format that is not required for geometry work. What steps are possible to clean / optimize / dissolve IFC files or their derivatives to increase workbench processing speed. I cannot supply an example IFC file due to data security.  

I have been able to connect with FME directly to the PostgreSQL database that holds the ArcGIS Portal host feature services. The features are stored as tables with a "shape" field holding the geometry. However, I can't figure out how to convert that shape field, which is labelled "st_geometry" into actual geometry. FME writes it to the data inspector as a text, for example, 280000000100000001000400E193040010000000010000009587C3B5B486AD0380BFE7BF9590AC13. Thanks for your help.

Hi,is it a bug, that whitespace is removed in the next step (Parameter Fetcher) in the AttributeConcatenator? In the userparameters the space is still their and the parameter is not checked.
