Hi everyone. I am new to XML and am having some difficulties using the XMLUpdater and XQuery. My issue is around updating 3 attributes within an xml element from 3 attributes in an FME list to create multiple children. When I do this for a record which has say 2 items in the list it’s producing 9 children instead of 2, do I need to group my data somewhere in my XQuery? I’ve attached a sample workbench and data. I am reading an Excel document, then creating a list of all LCS_Codes and their measures per TAC_Code. I then want this list to form the children of a location element within my XML. I'm trying to convert a DWG with solids to an OBJ mesh.The conversion is good but the OBJ doesn't include the color of the solid ("autocad_color"). I tried GeometryColorSetter but I can't seem to set it up properly.I also tried the AppearanceSetter, following this post: https://community.safe.com/s/question/0D54Q000080he8G/how-to-set-the-color-of-an-ifc-objet-ifcproxy but I can't set it up correctly Could you give me some suggestions on how to setup the transformer GeometryColorSetter (or a better one) so that it takes the "autocad_color" of the geometry and gives the same color to the resulting obj.

Hi, Is there a way to replace curve rings in polygon geometries with vertices along the curve without generalizing the whole geometry. The input is a feature class in a file geodatabase. Thank you for the info!

Hallo! I'm trying to set the folders in the zip-file for my data download service, as discribed in this question It works the first time I set the folders. But when I need to do a change in the zip-file order, the value of the 'Path to zip-file' are 'stuck'. Even if I edit them, they go back to the value they were initially set to. when i change the Default line width to 0.6 in feature wirter ( adobe geospatial pdf in Feature writer ) ,i found it changes for all layers . i would like to change only for one layer and others still has the same width of lines .How could i achieve it ?i need only to change paramter of width of lines in one layer without effecting other lines at other layers . my workspace : i have different lines ,with different colors and i would like to increase the width line with green color that i show in pdf output and others still have the same line width in pdf output .Thanks in advanceFME 2018

The workspace tries to read a CSV from internet and write a feature class in a geodatabase. I am trying to use this workbench with a remote desktop machine, which has all the licenses needed installed. Just a note, the workspace works perfectly well in local when not using the remote machine.  It also works when using Open API geodatabase writer or shapefile writer. I though it may be a licensing issue, but then the workspace works when you run it from the beginning to the join and then from the join to the end, instead of running the entire workspace. So I though maybe it was the temporary storage failing, so I changed the temporary files storage folder but the same error appears. BTW, the error is very generic "Error running translation" so I do not know what else to do. I would appreciate any help to solve this issue. We are trying to automate updating the metadata on feature classess, in particular at the level of the Entity and Attribute Information level for the fields in our feature classes.I have tried both methods of updating from an XML file or directly from the file geodatabase as metadata, but I can't seem to expose the information down to the field level of XML detail.We are basically trying to update the Definition & Definition Source of all attribute fields in the feature class from an table. see highlighted area below to show help explain.Is there something simply I am missingThanks  

I have two feature sets being joined with featurejoiner with approximately 50 attributes on the right and 50 on the left. I need to set ALL values of ALL unjoined attributes to uj_left or uj_right accordingly, in place of NULL (or is it MISSING?). I've had some ideas but wondering about a best management practice here. Let me know if you have any ideas. My test and concept ideas have included:1) add attribute manager following unjoined ports and set values on each unjoined attribute. Two issues here, one is that the unjoined right port doesn't show the left attributes and vice versa. The second issue is that I have 100 attributes, so I'm looking for a more automated solution.2) again add attribute manager following unjoined ports but this time just add one new attribute (join_status) and set the value accordingly uj_left, uj_right. Bring those streams together into a single transformer to then add a conditional value setter based on join_status. This seems doable, but

Hi, I'm trying to create a workspace to check multiple DWG versions, Iäve tried Real DWG reader and others, but cannot find the attribut that tells me the version. I made a picture below.Select multiple DWGs to readCheck The DWG Version with a testerOutput filename and check if version is 2013 as en excel(or user selected version test check)My issue is mainly finding the version at all and making it into a tester  

Hi When I run the workspace "JobHistoryStatisticsGathering.fmw" I only get a csv file, nothing shows up in dashboard in FME server. Do I need to put all other workspaces "the ones that generate a html file" on schedule aswell? I mean the "AverageRunningTime,DailyAverageQuedTime,DailyTotalJobs,DailyTotalRunningTime,FailuresByWorkspace". Iam sure I read somewhere that everything is preconfigured so you just need to schedule 1 workspace and then all dashboards are generated at once and shows up in dashboard. But I cant find any option to do that, nothing in automations or schedule or anything. The only thing I find In schedule is "DashboardStatisticsGathering" wich triggers the "JobHistoryStatisticsGathering workspace" and also creates a notification "GENERATE_DASHBOARD". So I need some clarification in how to get the dashboards working without the need to put all workspaces on schedule, if that's possible. Thanks in advance.

I am working on revamping our corporate FME Server environment and I am trying to figure out how to spec our servers. How do the engines use the cpu cores? If I have two engines running on a four core machine, are they each using two or are there two cores sitting idle (Assuming both cores are running jobs)?

Hi list.I try to only make a full install once a year, when a new year release (e.g. 2021.0) is available, and use "engine only" for the lesser updates.I've just installed 2021.0 on our servers, and have encountered some problems that warrants installation action.In this scenario, is it possible to do a downgrade as an "engine only" update, or is that only possible for newer updates ?I.e., how tight are the GUI/queue frameworks tied to the engine versions ?Any insights are appriciated.Cheers.

How to create a Polyline shapefile from CSV/excel data

Hi. I have a WMS service (Aerial) I would like to consume and clip to a JPEG or similar. Is this possible and if so, what transformers would I need to use?When I open the WMS I currently get an error...|ERROR |<WMS> Exception detected for the GetMap operation, requested Content-Type, 'image/png', returned Content-Type, 'text/html'.Eventually, I want to add this to a dwg output.Any help would be appreciated.Regards, Paul

I would like to create an FME workspace and publish it on one computer as a ReST API and would like to access that API from another computer in the same network.

I have an Excel Reader and several transformers that follow. I would like the attributes to update when I select a new .xlsx file. Most attributes should be the same but on occasion a file is submitted with one of the column names a little bit different. I was hoping that I would just have to re-connect those. What I have been experiencing is that I have to Update the Reader and then my AttributeManager transformers have to be completely rebuilt. Example:First Run - Fieldnames are CITY, STATE, ZIPSecond Run - Fieldnames are MY CITY, STATE, ZIPCODE Is there an easy way to handle this?

I have been tasked with reviewing another person's FME workbench, which contains a Python start-up script. When I try and run this script (from a PythonCaller transformer) I am receiving the following error i.e. Python Exception <ModuleNotFoundError>: No module named 'fmeutilities' andERROR |Error executing string `#global scope variable definitions / initialisations. The script is trying to import the modules 'fmeutilities' and 'fmeoutput' amongst others, which cannot be found on the server that the workbench is running on. I'm not sure if these need to be added via a localised install of Python or not? I can find an fmeobjects module on my server i.e. in the C:\\Program Files\\FME\\fmeobjects\\python37 folder) but non of the other modules the script is trying to import. I am using FME Desktop v2021.1 and the workspace python compatibility setting is set to Python 2.7 and 3 (see attached screenshots for more information). If someone can assist and

I've played around in Python in an ArcGIS Pro Notebook and like to take that code into FME. Because of organizational reasons, I might not be able to import the modules I need. Is there a way to make the profiles with other transformers? or some other way in Python, maybe?Attached is the code I use in ArcGIS and the testdata used there. Further attached is an example of the profile.  The data is organized in drill cores consisting of multiple layers, the thickness is indicated with Laagdikte [mm], the sample data has 3 drill core with 6 layers each.  Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Linda

Hi,  I am updating an existing table (in fact updating/inserting/deleting with fme_db_operation, created with ChangeDetector). All data is well updated, all coming from my revised source, on all columns of my destination table. However, I have a lot of warning telling me that the column xxxxxx does not exist in table XXXXXXX.In the database, the columns exist, of course. I am using a FeatureWriter and the feature types have been imported from dataset, Oracle Spatial Object and selecting the tables.All columns are not updated (some have the red triangle, other the green one). Any idea why I get these warning, whereas the columns are well updated ?
