While reading the reader, FME reads all the attributes whether it is required or not for translation. Most of the times, all the attributes are not required so we are using attribute keeper or attribute remover transformer and allowing only the required.I suggest FME should read only those attributes which are having tick mark in User Attributes tab in reader. This will reduce in memory issues as well.
Add for all tests the option Attribute Has Value, which should mean that the Attribute: Not Is Empty, Not Is Null, Not Is Missing and != ""
It would be useful to be able to prompt for parameters in a workspace when debugging as errors can occur in different places with different input parameters. Currently, the workaround is to prompt and run workspace, immediately abort the translation and then run with breakpoint.

Leaving the original idea below for future reference. In FME 2016.1, we have a right-click on a connection to allow you to "hide" it. And you can again see it faintly if you click on either its source or destination transformers. You can "Show" the hidden connection again by right clicking on the source/destination transformer to bring it back. In combination with the new "Junctions" that are in 2016.1, we intend to yet make a right-click shortcut on a link to "replace with tunnel" which will inject 2 junctions, label them, and hide the line connecting them. That will complete the original vision. Without the most cool terminology :-( The ability to connect two points on a workspace without a visible connection line. Each wormhole would have 2 ends to it -- you'd have a depiction of the entrance, and then elsewhere a depiction of the exit, and you could route things through them without needing a long line crossing your workspace.

The order in which features are read play an important part in the performance or simplicity of a workspace. Reader order can be specified by changing the order in the Navigator. Creators only have two options: read at start or read at end. I feel better control concerning Reader/Creator order would be a great improvement.This idea has been mentioned before by @david_r and @takashi here (though I couldn't find the idea mentioned in his last reply) and by @fmelizard here. Apparently this call has been logged with Safe already, but perhaps we can gather some votes or ideas on how it should work on this post.Some possibilities:Creators also showing up in the Navigator inbetween the readers. Simple and uses existing functionality to determine order.A seperate window to rearrange all Creators/Readers in one go. Seems a bit clunky.An option on a Creator to 'Read [before/after] [Reader/Creator] X. Quite simple, but not deterministic if you schedule two Creators to run after the same Reader.
Sometimes you want to increase the drawing-thickness of an object in the data-inspector. It's also handy to have the ability to change the thickness and color of a selection.
When User Logs in they are presented with Dashboard containing things like a) Last 5 workspaces uploades b) Last 5 jobs run c) active Jobs d) Jobs in queue and position
At the moment you can create a new repository, add a description and then when not required, delete it.But if you fluff the description first time round or want to expand on it, you can't. I'm sure a hack to this is to open up your database administrator of choice and manually edit the description in the database table, but that's less than user friendly. Can we edit in the interface please?
If the output of a transformer/reader is split into two or more Connections, it would be incredibly helpful for more complex workspaces to specify which connection features should go down first. Or at the very least the ability to see what order the connections will be used in would be nice.
Add the ability to push spatial data into the Tableau BI tool via FME.

Currently, you can only set the Content-Type when uploading a file using the S3Uploader transformer.According to the S3 REST API documentation, there are also other headers to set, like Cache-Control, Content-Disposition, Expires etc. It would be nice if (a selection of) these can also be set by the S3Uploader, similar to the HTTPCaller. I could of course use the latter to achieve what I want, but the S3Uploader sure makes authentication a lot easier.. :)
Hi, the idea is to be able to set a color to the logged features when we use the logger transformer. The same way when there is an error, the font is red , we could have a different color for the logged features, or perhaps to have the fonts in bold.
It would be great if we could inspect the creator transformer content by right clicking then choosing "inspect" from the context menu as if it was a reader or writer.
***Note from Migration:*** Original Title was: StringManager - Format, Replace Substring, Trim, Truncate, etc. All in One Transformer It would be awesome if there was a StringManager transformer that can do the job of several individual string-related transformers - Similar to the role of the AttributeManager, but for strings! I would like to able to format, truncate, and trim or pad a string, and replace a substring, within a single transformer.
I'd like to see FME support ASC X12 format. This is way too cumbersome to do manually (thousands of code mappings!) Some companies have done the mapping using XML but sell the product at extortionate prices! Especially for a piece of software that can only do one thing! FME would be the ideal software to tackle this.
Currently the HTMLReportGenerator only allows colour change of features through parameters or by the colour picker. It would be amazing to be able to asign colours and transpecnery through attributes so that features can be styled differntly.
Some of the users do not have internet access or they do have that but with a minimum access. It would be great if the custom transformers from the FME HUB were installed with FME Desktop/Server as per the final release.
Add support for SLD from PostGIS. Similar to when QGIS reads from a PostGIS-database it also reads the SLD Styles.

Would it be possible to have a magnifying glass in the Workbench to be able to magnify some specific parts of a workspace ' canvas. The lens could be pinned to allow the users to click the magnified property cog or simply read stuff.
So, when you add e.g. reader feature types in your workbench it gets neatly ordered, but alphabetically scrambled. So i need to tidy them up. The reason why I want this is because if I add whole bunch of feature types and they get scrambled I often need to find those that I want and in all that mess it consumes time (and nerves). Selecting them, right click and arrange alphabetically would be nice to have. Yes, there's a workspace search option, but that's not practical for this (typing every name of feature that i can't find by 'visual' search).
OK. I'm kinda new to all this but here it comes. The idea is to have a transformer or parameter which will attach digital certificate to an output AutoCAD DWG. This will ensure that the document is digitally signed and validates authenticity of it. Of course, it doesn't have to be only tied to this writer. Maybe other format type writers need this ability and would be nice to have this kind of feature.
