Apart of those calling web API, dedicated machine learning transformers are currently missing in FME. Pytorch is heavy and requiring gpu while sklearn is also a bit hard to directly set up as transformers (due to the complexity/flexibility of the pipelines). Why not try to leverage the work done on PyCaret? Those standardized steps, while limited compared to a dedicated sklearn pipeline, would streamline simple machine learning operations in FME. If others have ideas on this, don’t hesitate. I think that those are missing blocks in current FME tools.
It seems FME can not read CityJSONSeq (CityJSON Text Sequences)https://www.cityjson.org/cityjsonseq/If you use the reader NDJSON (Newline Delimited JSON) you get the data - however you do not get them converted to CityJSON objects - missing geometry.Any way to do this either with some Transformers in FME or with a dedicated reader?Format described in more details in this article: https://arxiv.org/html/2407.00017v1
Main request:ArcPRO desktop provides option to save a layer symbology to a SD (service definition) file to disk. Can Safe add support > allowing the user to browse to .sd files when they update or publish as a feature service (hosted), FME will use the ArcGIS for Python API to overwrite the symbology styleThis may also be an option to include in the Arcgis online connector transformer, when the use select publish. Secondary requests:LYRX files in ArcPRO as coded in JSON. Perhaps ESRI and Safe can work together to support updating arcgis online styles, where the user can browse to a desktop LYRX file they saved outin QGIS and OGC they have an option to save SLD (styled layer descriptor) files. As a stretch goal, allowing Arcgis to use these for style definition would also assist in data migration projects
Hi, How many of us (and let’s be honest) have mistakenly pressed the stop automation while actually going for the refresh? These two are way to close to each other and with a little change some serious BS&T can be spared from us all…. Itay
Hi,This functionality is great but does not make sense (the way it is now) inside a split merge block.Let say you enable the retry in a split-merge block to try for 3 times before giving up, if it is successful the third time a feature will still come out of the failed port of the split-merge block and ruin you translation. So either disable this functionality in the split-merge block (not preferred) or make is smarter and even if 2 of the 3 retries have failed don’t let any feature go out of the failed port of the split-merge block (preferred)Let make the retry in a split-merge block usable (and great)Itay
Need a enhancement on AGOL and Enterprise connection to read credentials from secret manager using script and supply it has parameters at run time. This will help save efforts to update password manually.
Hi There, Most of my users do not log into FME Flow and use the apps, it would be very helpful if I can broadcast messages to my users via the FME Flow apps.Cheers,Itay
As a:FME Flow user responsible for monitoring automations that run continuously or on frequent schedules.I want to:Implement rate limiting or batching in the email actions. So that I can:Avoid receiving a flood of emails if an automation encounters repeated errors during overnight or unattended runs. Stay informed about issues without being overwhelmed by redundant notifications. Focus on resolving the underlying issue rather than managing an overflowing inbox.Acceptance Criteria:Have configurable limits that can be set on the email action. I’d like set to thresholds for the maximum number of emails sent within a time period and log when an email is not sent due to this limit. Ideally, we could have some way to batch emails as well- this would be especially helpful for system events.
Hi, In the Homepage of FME Flow, there is a nice dashboard. I would like to be able to adjust the columns, since I would like to see the Repository of the job (and I'm not interested in the 'Source Type’ and 'Ran By’ columns), so it would look like this (forged) screenshot.
Default filename using the DataDownloadservice is : http://fmeserver/fmedatadownload/FME_2D764B0C_1515155526785_73956.zipCreate an FME_SERVER_PARAMETER on FME Desktop like : FME_SERVER_ZIPFILENAME that can override this name if not empty. Then you can easily create a complex output-file based on both published parameters and attributes created during the workspace. For instance in a workspace you have:PUBLISHED PARAMETERStartfilename = "3Dmodels"attribute created within the workspace:timestamp = "20180101"FME_SERVER_ZIPFILENAME = "Startfilename + _ + timestamp"Will give the filename:http://fmeserver/fmedatadownload/3Dmodels_20180101.zipand automatically this will be the downloadlink instead of the default:http://fmeserver/fmedatadownload/FME_2D764B0C_1515155526785_73956.zip
Background:As an FME Flow administrator, part of my role is managing user accounts, which includes registering new users and retiring users who are no longer with the organization. A crucial aspect of this process is searching for items owned by users to ensure proper account maintenance.Problem:Currently, FME Flow only allows searching for one specific item type at a time, which can be inefficient when managing multiple item types associated with a user.Proposed Solution:Enable a unified search feature that allows administrators to search across all item types simultaneously.Benefits:This enhancement would save administrators significant time and effort by eliminating the need to manually search through each item type individually. It would allow for a quicker and more efficient analysis of user accounts, particularly when determining which items need to be reassigned or removed during the account deactivation process.Acceptance criteria:Unified Search Functionality: Administrators can now search across all item types (e.g., connections, automations, flow gallery apps, etc.) simultaneously, without needing to filter by type. Of course, filtering by type should still be possible as well. Idea has minor overlap with the following:
Dashboard and even sample workspaces are overwritten on FME Flow when a restore occurs.Restoring older versions of the dashboard workspaces has resulted in issues which are simply resolved by using the newer versions of the same workspaces. While best practice would be to download the workspaces before a restore, however I believe it would be handy to have them available online to avoid needing installing FME Flow elsewhere to obtain them.
Would like to see the ability to have multiple output ports - one per predicate.
I use the grid a lot in Workbench, and I often need to quickly toggle it on or off—either for clean screenshots or to help align transformers.Right now, the process is a bit tedious:- Click *View*- Click *Grid and Guides…*- Check or uncheck *Show Grid*- Close the dialog- Repeat every time I need to toggle itIt would be a great quality-of-life improvement to have a simple toolbar button to toggle the grid. It wouldn’t get in the way for users who don’t need it, and I imagine it wouldn’t be too complex to implement.
Plant3D reader and writer. Currently, Plant 3D does not support IFC export and Plant3D DWG files cannot be read with FME without losing information. Converting Plant3D DWGs using the EXPORTTOAUTOCAD command in Autodesk creates Proxy Entity geometries which can’t be read without loss of information.
Error messages encountered in translation logs should have an authoritative place to look up that error for a fulsome explanation. Twice in the last 20 minutes I’ve encountered new-to-me errors and there’s zero mention of them in the documentation or in the community forums. This experience occurs often. When a fault occurs often enough that a developer writes code to handle the situation there should also be user facing documentation, or some other systematic means of following up that’s not blind “ask the internet”.
The AreaAmalgamator uses both the Overlay and PolygonDissolver factories, which require tolerances, but there is no tolerance parameter. This leads to log messages like the below It would be useful to be able to specify a tolerance like one can with the AreaOnAreaOverlayer and Dissolver transformers.
FME repairs duplicate points in polyline geometries on read. For dwg file auditing we need an option to read the raw uncorrected duplicate vertex. Please see Autodesk AutoCAD DWG/DXF repairing polyline on read | Community
When writing to ArcGIS Online any text fields that contain special characters are flagged as having invalid HTML content due to ESRI’s security policy on such fields in the AGOL context. Encoding these as HTML works, but the TextEncoder currently only allows encoding of a single field at a time and it could be expanded to do multiple fields at once.
When creating User Parameters there is an option to add a Database Connection. When you use that the user running it has the option to select all database connections. It would be a nice enhancement if you could choose which database connections are available to the user.
When managing web connections in FME Form and creating a new Token Service (OAuth 2.0 Credentials Flow) we need the possibility to base64 encode the consumerKey and consumerSecret in the header according to the following pattern: "Authorization: Basic <base64 encoded consumerKey:consumerSecret value>"The current workaround is to bas64 encode the requested information with the TextEncoder transformer and then hard code the encoded value(s) in the web connection template which isn’t that generic.
Refering to this thread and this other thread, FME is doing a lot of things on our sql statement without asking us...As a PostgreSQL database engineer, my SQL scripts can be really complex and I want FME to send it to the database wihtout encapsulated it into some darkmagic procedure...It could be great to have an option to tell FME to send the statement to the database as it is. The dev have to check for the commit part and all of course.
Hi there,It would be great if there was a button at the bottom of the text/arithmetic editors that could substitute their placeholders with any cached values or default values for attributes and user parameters. This could be useful for checking values are correctly formatted before having to run the flow and check that it works correctly. For example:Becomes:you could have different colours for parameters and attribute values, or some other way of differentiating them. Or you could provide mouseover hints that direct the user to the source of the value. Thanks,Marc
Assuming it’s possible, FME Form should look in the same folder as the workspace for FME related components - e.g., CustomFormats, CustomTransfomers. In FME Flow if you have a CustomTransformer which lives in the same repository as a workspace it will work. It would nice to be able to keep CustomTransfomers in the same location. As it is right now in FME Form if you want to keep all files related to a porject together you need to copy the version from the location where FME can find it (e.g., FME folder) to your project folder. The process is problematic because you quickly run into issues with copying and keeping track of the version which you’re actually working with in workbench vs what is in your project folder.
